There were so many layers in how each character treated the situation. Fremi was focused on caring for and helping others, Lyney was trying to keep his family safe, Lynette trying to keep her brothers out of trouble, Arlecchino trying to keep her façade of strictness while fully caring for her children, and helping them live the life they want, and all wrapped up in the context of trauma and betrayal. Especially in Fontaine, every character is full of depth, so I love quests like these where everyone has their own goals and motivations, and we get to see how they all tie together. Also, quick note about lore. There was a new series of books released last patch that can be bought in Fontaine. They talk about an orphanage from Khanariah (I probably spelled that wrong, so where Dainsleif is from), and there are several parallels between it and the house of the Hearth, and even more parallels between Father and the main character of the book, Perinheri. The crimson moon is especially pointed out in both. So, if you want some lore that is probably connected to Arlecchino, I’d suggest giving it a read. Okay, it wasn’t just a quick note.

Hime is so cute 💛 didnt liked her story, we didnt know much wbout her and the end was weak. If the traveler lost now he has no chance in the future. He must do training or get more of his power back before natlan or he stuck and cant go forward
I was so infuriated by the fact that our traveler could do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING against her. ABSOLUTE ZERO. Has he forgotten how to use the elements? When was the last time he used them? Raiden on the boss? What about the "Arlecchino Curse"... FUCK, EVERYONE WOULD HAVE THAT FUCKING CURSE THAT MAKES YOU A FUCKING GOJO SATORU. Is this what you call a curse? Huge power in exchange for hands in machine oil? Fuck this, this is complete bullshit. I wonder how the hell we're supposed to beat Dottore if we couldn't even beat her, because the developers need to SELL THE CHARACTER, SHE'S SO COOL, AND THE TRAVELER IS A SUCK, BUY HER, BUY
If you pay attention to the Traveler in the cutscene, they're shook. Arlecchino is aggressive with her attacks and almost catches the Traveler off guard. Additionally, the description of the Weekly Boss domain calls this a "rude awakening." I think, under duress, the Traveler fell back on their muscle memory of fighting with a sword. That's a normal thing if you've not attempted to drill usage of the powers into your subconscious. I think they're setting up for a training arc. Also, as far as that curse goes, unless Arlecchino can keep control of her emotions, the curse would consume her.
@@effortlessfury It's not even a matter of what he lost, but how he lost. Shaking like a little puppy. We fought an archon, a dragon, a whale. AND WE DID NOT SHAKE ANYWHERE. Usually you associate yourself with the main character, well. Thanks to the developers.
@@chu_pushistov The Traveler has made note that they are unsettled by Arlecchino on multiple occasions. I find people are most upset/least understanding of failures that are psychologically rooted if they're not spelled out explicitly, and even then, many people don't care. The Traveler fought Ei for a bit and then was laid out in a single attack. We didn't even have a chance to see their reaction to her in the cutscene as they were taken out almost right away, but if you go by the Traveler's reaction to the Plane of Euthymia from the end of Ei's teaser, the Traveler was actually shaken a bit by the Plane. (keep in mind that there's a Crimson Moon there) They fought her again after being trained up a bit but were still losing until they got the boost from people's Wishes. They fought Apep but had Nahida by their side. They fought a Whale, with Neuvillette by their side (and who was actively granting them his power during the fight). They lost to Scaramouche 168 times. With this fight against Arlecchino, now the Traveler is supposed to be the strong one. That's pressure that's not been present outside of the fight with Signora or Childe, and Signora didn't die by our hand, just lost the duel. (not to mention Traveler was pissed, and that can definitely subconsciously push any possible fear aside) Arlecchino is scary. She's not just powerful, but she throws you off. Hell, that's how she beat Crucabena; she called Crucabena, "Mother," and this threw her off for just long enough for Peruere to kick her into the sky. The Traveler was not given time to think, and when people don't have time to think, they fall back on their instincts. The Traveler's instincts outside of swordplay are shit and they've had no real reason to rehone them. They HAVE been skating by and this fight shows that. Honestly, if the Traveler had displayed expert use of all of their powers and still lost...what will a training arc do? What is there left to be gained aside from external help? Arguably, that would just establish the Traveler as completely incapable, present or future, of doing anything about the stronger members of the Fatui. At least with this situation, the excuse exists that they are not skilled enough, and that gives room for them to gain that skill.
Arlecchino is no.4 of the 11 Harbingers. Not counting the TOP 3 who can rival a god's power which include Dottoire, the Knave is easily the strongest Harbinger that the Traveler fought so far, which makes sense that he/she LOST
@@christian1neza1656 didnt use a single element and still using dull blade...knave is apparently weaker than gods still so I dont get why we were so weak.
@@Jclo115 the Knave was hardly trying. Using petty tricks like multi elements attacks won't cut like it did against the Raiden Shogun Pocket dimension EXCEPT the Traveler was utterly HELPLESS in Arlecchino's crimson moon dimension

Additionally, the description of the Weekly Boss domain calls this a "rude awakening."
I think, under duress, the Traveler fell back on their muscle memory of fighting with a sword.
(not to mention Traveler was pissed, and that can definitely subconsciously push any possible fear aside)
Arlecchino is scary.
At least with this situation, the excuse exists that they are not skilled enough, and that gives room for them to gain that skill.
traveler was so pathetic in the fight scene lol
