- For this hike, we traveled down to the Clarksville, AR. area to meet up with some friends to hike the Youngs Point Bluffs. This is a very steep bluff line with a lot of nice rock formations and shelters. We did both the eastside and the westside bluff lines. Our total distance was about 5.5 miles. The first mile consisted of a 500' climb straight up.
Like I said, I get to see it all from a different angle and view thanks to your videos. Like for instance when you said "We're going back down", I still hadn't made it up there yet because I was busy taking pictures of all of you from the bottom
You always got the handy rope. I'll start to bring some when I mention about climbing for sure now. At times, you'll have to take your pack off and get it through the hole and then you get yourself through and then put it back on
It was a fun hike. Long but worth it to me. Great video again. I refer to the part where the ladder is The Climbing Area. I should have asked you to get a video of me climbing that other part. Phil was the only person that joined me over there
Yeah, I (we) really enjoyed it too. Doing all that side hilling made my feet sore...lol.
@@travelingwithspinoza That's how it is hiking along bluff lines most of the time. You got the side hilling rather than going straight way down the hills and straight back up them for waterfalls from way down below
You guys sure like climbing through holes and cracks. Who carried the ladder? Cool spot at 10:10. I hain't never been on that side of Spadra Creek. Disgusting tree on rock action at 16:10. It would appear that Susie was having fun, and that you were OK with that. Lot's of spiff rock formations in them bluff lines where the hollows are about to drop into the Arkansas River Valley, fer sure. Glad you survived the 500 feet of deth.
Yeah, we do like to explore from time to time. The ladder was there when we got there. Not sure who put it there. There are a lot of ATV trails above that area so someone could pretty easily get one there. Susie had a blast!
Danny who leads TAKAHIK said that people in his group and him repaired the ladder in 2019. The east side is in Danny's book. That's how I learned about the area.
