- Continuing my Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles RANKED journey with GIYU TOMIOKA! These online matches are pretty crazy. Giyu Tomioka is probably the coolest character in the Demon Slayer anime, and learning his combos, supers, and ultimates in game has been fun as hell!

Giyu's back story is yknow the boy and the girl on season 1 on the boulder arc right? They're Sabito and Momoi, so the reason Sabito and Momoi are dead because they risked their lives saving Giyuu himself from the hand demon

It's fun being a part of a brand new fighting community like this. Currently at 14 wins and 40 games of ranked total. But every match I'm learning more and more.
Same. I haven’t played ranked yet. But I would love to learn zenitsu. It’s amazing to be a part of a constantly growing fgc.
I got the game early cuz of pre order. However I'm at 26 wins. My mains are Nezuko and Tanjiro
@@SynNickel9 I too pre ordered, but I’ve been focusing on story. Think I’ll focus on S’ing the whole story before going into multiplayer. By any chance do you have any idea what happened to the Chef Tanjiro player?

As a Giyu main can confirm he's mad fun to play. Running him with Sabito is my go to as of rn.

Giyu is the jiren of demon slayer. Its the character made for doto. “Try something” or the new phrase for this game by doto “perfect parry”
The Nier music go so well with anything epic
Giyu has a counter special and a great special to counter against guard pushing, and you can combo after both of those specials. Dude is a great character, probably gonna main him when I get this game
He’s one of the characters I’m maining when I get the game alongside with water tanjiro, & Hinokami, also Giyu and akaza
When I get it I'll be maining Giyuu and Rengoku or swap Rengoku for Hinokami Tanjiro.
Kinda feel like the assist into grab is supposed to help deter turtling because you’ll just get grabbed for it. Also Sabito mains rise up.

Yo the nier and ffxv music feel so good to hear with the ultimate
You know what would've been a cool attention to detail? Actual kinetic blocking. Instead of the static defensive stance, it would've been cool to see the character actually making an effort to block attacks. Blocking would still work the same, but just that nice bit of animation.

@@Ilias24. Japanese speaker here, Renato sounds stupid af (like westerner who doesn't know JP trying to name their novel character a JP name), and Renshu means training lol. Rengoku is not that common of a character name, so idk wtf you talking about.

“This is actually my go to team, though in reality I main Giyuu. Learning how to reverse and rule neutral game with 11th form is so satisfying. On top of that I like how water wheel better than tanjiro, and you can reset out his constant flux pretty easily. Definitely recommend spending a little time with the character at somepoint.”

You can actually counter the “free grab thing” just push block the assist and use the triangle+ R1 ability

Tbh this is one of my most favorite games and is a amazing experience to play even tho sometimes it isn’t exactly like the story some points it would be like if you didn’t watch the Anime or read the manga you would still get some of the story. Also online battle is probably the best mode by far.

A small tip: when you fight someone who blocks a lot, add in some down combos because they break guard faster

Tanjiros last character is so sick. His guard break is so easy and instant. Also some of the most satisfying combos.

I saw a guy name Kage Ex do this, but one way to get good damage and combo with Giyu's ultimate is hit them with a combo to get them in the air, dash up for an up combo bring them down to the ground use constant flux and mid way hit the ult.

Yea the super armor in surge was wild. I was going against a Rengoku last night, did NOT experience this prior to, he does SO much damage, and next thing you know, I'm on the ground lmaoo unfortunate
I can't wait for the video where seereax and doto find each other in the wild in this game
After a counter if you heavy then continue the combo 2-3 lights into skill 1 , dash air combo into super or skill 1 for massive damage or skill 2 for a reset into grab or another light for mix ups or heavy for armored opponents

Surge mode in this game actually reminds me of how the super armor mode in Budokai 3 & Infinite World. It gives super armor and depletes your ki. Same for this game. It depletes the bar. Except that there is no recovery animation at the end just like both those DBZ games

Ayo that Giyu counter super with the Nier Automata music doing things
I know a ultimate combo for giyuu, do his combo that launches them in the air then do the basic air combo after that using his water dragon skill ( forgot the name) once it launches the enemy up you can cancel the attack/ animation in his ultimate
Easiest way to counter surge n it works everytime for me is to just push block then ultimate really just give everyone a major key tip

Zenitsu can get some crazy combos off with Nezuko's assist. Same with shinobu so if u do zenitsu i recommend those two as supports

Best giyu combo in my opinion is 2 normal attack, 10th form constant flux (let it knock them up), chase to them, one light attack, constant flux again (it'll put you on the ground and keep them in the air), then when it ends, just after they hit the ground, ult and its a guaranteed hit everytime.

First fighting game since xenoverse 2 that I've been new to, getting used to it 21 games and 10 wins but 2 of them I got disconnected on even stockes but they still counted as games
I actually used my palm like Giyuu's grab and it worked.
