Kind of wish it did happen in the series with Endeavour finally realizing how badly he screwed up, had he not been so quick to disregard Touya he could've overcome with weaknesses he had. Touya really was untapped potential having all of Endeavour's fire power magnified, with the added bonus of the ice to keep him cool.
Well, pretty sure he did realize, but knowing that his first child was what he hoped for all along was probably meaningless in that moment. Since his main goal here was to stop Dabi from self destructing, and talk no jutsu with him.
the ice didn’t change the fact that his body wasn’t suitable for his flames, it would’ve helped but he still would’ve burnt his body since his quirk wasn’t a half and half like todorki
No. He lives. They put that man on life support and he just keeps on living. We never actually see him die in the manga. Meaning it's entirely possible he somehow is alive after the 8 year timeskip
@@MegaRyukiIn fairness, Dabi’s survival is constantly defying the odds. Garaki thought Dabi would die weeks after he escaped the nursery, but he lived on for years. In the final battle, characters are constantly going on about how Dabi’s body shouldn’t have been able to survive as long as it did, and yet he’s alive at the end of it all. The manga’s over so it doesn’t matter either way, but it is possible he (yet again) survived longer than was predicted for him.
He can’t even say more then a few words a day I doubt he lived even a year after the war and if he’s still alive his family’s just torturing him at that point
He did. He loved his children. And the idea of a parent encouraging his children to be strong if they could isn’t ideally abnormal. Toya was just too obsessed and stubborn. A lot of people gloss over the fact that he was a little bit psycho already, putting the idea that their dad didn’t care about them, ignoring his mom and sister about the reason. And him literally trying to kill Shoto with his mom and siblings not that far from him. Was Endeavor right by isolating and abusing Shoto, not a bit, but Toya literally tried to kill him. Nobody even talked about it or mention it later, even Natsuo who seems hellbent on recalling everything that his dad ever did.
Better than Shoto because he literally fights with no regards for his life and spent his literal life mastering his flames by raising up the temperature. While Shoto limits himself to keep from ending up like that.
I don't necessarily agree that Toya>Shoto. Based on depiction, Shoto had the stronger ice abilities, but Toya had stronger fire. Where Shoto had to be convinced to use his father's power, that was all Toya was focused on. Combine that with Shoto's superior durability, I think they're evenly matched.
Only issue is Dabi doesn’t have the fire resistance like his father. Endeavor and Shoto don’t get burned by their own flames because they have fire resistance. Dabi doesn’t, hence why he got burned even as a child when his flames weren’t that strong.
When he was a child, it was already stated that he had more basic firepower than endeavor, he just couldn’t fully control it yet. Even with flame resistance, both shoto and endeavor can’t handle Dabi’s flames anyways. The video uses the idea of a quirk awakening that has his ice protecting his body so that he never overheats or harms himself with his flames. Which would be exactly what endeavor wanted.
@@lekacious3529 you just further proved my point. Thank you. Dabi had less flame resistance and more flame. If he got his quirk awakening at birth, maybe he’d be a good hero, but he didn’t. So even if he didn’t die, he’d be scarred and basically a walking corpse.
I agree. They could have been the anime version of the incredible. Only they would be called something g more fitting with the mox of ice and fire quirks. Frostfire family or something
Wait I thought Dabi didn’t die in the end of the series? He’s near death and on life support but he’s still alive? He’s my favorite and he deserved to go out in a cool way rather than being forced to stay alive and have Endeavor visit him daily 😅 I’m sure Dabi LOVES that lmao
This is my brother's argument too and feel this is what should have happened. I disagree, the point of his character is that the mistakes of our parents has a hand in shaping who we are. Dabi was powerful because of his emotions, not only was he the product of 2 powerful Quirks but also proof with hard work you can achieve what others wasn't expecting of us. The truth is Dabi was a villain and not any villain, a murderer, expecting him to succeed is an insult to those who were killed by him. In fact it's weird that people saw him as the underdog because true it's his father's fault he turned out like this but he's not the blame for Dabi's choices.
I agree. Don't forget Dabi had 3 other siblings, with the same shitty parents, and they didn't become maniacal mass murders like he did. A tragic backstory just an excuse for that villain to justify their actions to themsleves.
@Scudboy17 The most Natsu and their sister had to endure was neglect. Toya had dreams constantly hyped up because his flames burned hotter than his father's, but he didn't inherit the part of the quirk that enabled resistance to fire so Endeavor, instead of explaining why Toya shouldn't train anymore but still keeping close attention to him, discarded him. Sad thing is we saw how Dabi used his flames and his body survived for years perfectly fine. If Endeavor just had the foresight to change Toya's training approach and / or had spent the money to develop a flame resistant suit since he had one himself Toya would have been fine. So no, this wasn't just "He was using it as justification" his father filled his head with hopes and idealistic dreams then the second Toya encountered an unforseen hurdle was essentially abandoned. Then after all that when he went home he saw his father hadn't changed or mourned his loss at all was when he truly broke. It's not an excuse, but it's not his fault for making those choices either as his trauma caused a mental break. He needed help that Endeavor never provided either physically or emotionally so it's entirely Endeavor's fault
@bman296 I understand you are saying, but I disagree. Endeavor may have filled Dabi's head with dreams he dashed, but he did not kill anyone in the series. Personal response for your own actions is unavoidable. Circumstances put you in horrible situations and limit your choices, but they will never actually make decisions for you. If we follow your logic, no one anywhere at any time could or should be held accountable for their actions, regardless of what they do, as long as they had a tragic past. This is really just an extension of the idea that outside factors like comic books, role-playing games, movies, TV, video games, and rock/metal/rap music make kids violent. There has never been any credible research proving link between any of that and violent behavior. I will agree with you that a tragic past will increase the propensity for violence and criminal behavior, but it's not a 100% certainty that its going to happen. Many people, myself included, have lived through horrible situations in their lives and have NOT become murders or criminals. Crime, including murder, is a choice, not an end state.
@@Scudboy17 Once again I never stated that its an excuse. I'm simply saying its purely Endeavor's fault because he caused Toya to have a psychological break. In the U.S at least if you are diagnosed with having psychological issues such as insanity, dude is literally self destructing/showing self ending tendencies so I think that counts, you can plead for insanity and be admitted into a psyche ward instead of a prison if you submit to a psychological evaluation and are found to have psychological problems. While I don't know to the extent I know that some murderers do get away with it by pleaing insanity before. Im sorry you went through what you did, I went through the wringer myself, but there are people who go through less or even worse and how they end up isn't up to if I got through it or you did. Everyone experiences trauma differently we all go through our own hells day by day. Its why kids from well off families act like spoiled brats is because theyre given the world and when suddenly they need to put in the same amount of effort that everyone else does that get upset. A lot of mental faculties. moral compasses, etc. are forged in the home. Some are able to rise above crappy upbringings and be good people, but others aren't.
