THAT is beautiful! I am resuming the cello after a small 46 year hiatus. LOL! And the advantage NOW is that I can hear how a piece is supposed to sound. Didn't have THAT back in 1972! Wonderfully rendered. Bravo!!
@@Cellopedia Me too . . . I'm still pretty scratchy and struggling with thos 16th notes, but plugging away . . . wish I'd been born Pablo Casals instead of Blobblo Casals. ;)
Thanks so much for this, I've played this before but it's been almost a year and I needed a simple piece for my audition in a month. Your cello is just so well toned and the notes are separated perfectly, it was really helpful. All the best!:)
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's great to hear that you found the video useful and that it's helping you prep for your audition. Auditions can be nerve-wracking, but returning to a piece you're familiar with is a great strategy. All the best!
My daughter is playing this for her solo recital next weekend. She is nervous about the piano accompaniment...but I think she will get it. Thanks for the videos. ♥️
you are such an amazing Cellist I'm learning this song and that was really helpful 😍😍 Actually, you have the whole book here and it's better than my classes 😁 thank you so much 🙏
Learning this for a solo/ensemble performance. It’s judged. My orchestra instructor told me to look for my favorite recording and use that for inspiration, as he wants us to have an original sound. Let’s hope I get the superior!
I am learning Gavotte on the cello and it was great to hear another cello player play the song! But also I can play along with it. At first I turned the playback speed to 0.75 so I could practice along with him and now I don’t need too. :)
Thank you so much for these videos, these are a huuuge help. I had problems keeping a steady rhythm when i practiced the pieces at home and you have single handedly fixed the issue :) It'd be nice if you could also put in the bpm you used for the pieces in the beginning (for future videos). P.s.: Your cello sounds amazing, kind of reminds me of Sheku Kanneh Mason's Amati.

I was in the middle of learning this but I injured my hand so I won’t be able to play for a bit I might as well listen to it though so I can get better at memorizing like how fast I need to play the notes
When you play cello you can see where you put your fingering so closing your eyes wouldn't be much different I do it all the time if you know your bowing good enough it's fine

Awesome. There are many other videos of books 3-10 which, I hope, will be helpful too.
I heard the Practice version, it was phenomenal. IM STILL A KID :D

This song gives me baroque vibes and I'm excited to learn how to play it. Thanks for the great demonstration!
Happy to do it. I love this piece!

This piece is baroque; it was written in 1686 by not Lully, but Marin Marais. It was originally written for the Viola da Gamba!

I’m young! Very!
I play the violin, and. Lully is in book 2.
I didn’t know that Lully is in book 3 for cello
I believe it is because a cellist needs to learn to play in a higher position, which takes (according to Suzuki) more time than for a violinist...
Lol
This is not how kids do it the metronome should be 95 and thats to slow!
95 is way too fast
That doesn’t matter! The way he plays and the beauty makes up for any mistakes, after all, no one’s perfect
