    Deadlifts should have been ligther and from the ground. Great competition.

    • @OriginalMindTrick

      The yoke should have been lighter as well. It used to be under 800 lb in WSM in the 90s and this is over 900 lb.
      Glenn Ross likes to make it heavy, too heavy IMO.

    I cant undestand why they use that form for the louis lift. Mixed grip, lay on belt while trapecius are sure burning. Why not a correct olimpic lift in 2 fases?

    • @Mobpaul1
      @Mobpaul1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +112358miau Very hard with a thick bar like that. Plus the plates cannot ''roll'' like a normal bar.

    • @112358miau
      @112358miau 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK then. Put a thinner bar and grip will be better, you will avoid bicep injuries with CORRECT grip and so. I mean, you lift, sit and then squat. You end in a controlled and "relaxed" phase.
      That "belt hold" with lightning speed hand change looks stupid, and really bad for your back.
      Well, not yours or mine, so I dont really care

      SickofHippies serious question

    • @pimpin4lif
      @pimpin4lif 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      typically no.. steroids are used more for muscle bulking. basically for vanity. Most of what the real high level strongmen do, you really wouldnt ever be able to do if you were on steroids. the 1 exception was Mariusz Pudzianowski. and his performance enhancing drugs actually disqualified one of his WSM chapionships. He should have 6 titles not 5. unlike bodybuilding, these guys are tested for growth supplementation. that even includes testosterone boosters. I know that was a long response, but its easy for people to see those guys and think steroids. Not all are clean, but most are.

      +GaviRG1 Both in powerlifting and strongman you are considered a junior until you are past the age of 23, I think it might have something to do with the rules from olympic lifting (but I have no clue), but being 23 you're still young for any type of sport.
