Tommy said Gabriel was too old and Mr. Varga respectfully showed him why you have to respect your opponent regardless of age. Especially if your opponent is a 6x World champion kickboxer.
@@omegaone997 Yeah he's fun to watch because he's explosive, has confidence and is very agressive, but he's technique is waaaay off. Varga is a perfectionist.
@@LeonardoRamos01 Aghayev is a Karate Legend, but Gabriel brings that world champion strategy that will force KC into an evolution.. if it kicks off, Varga will be remembered as a founding father of the sport
@@LeonardoRamos01 yes that's a problem with most striking sports apart from kickboxing or boxing. Not enough focus on footwork, fients, head movement, overall strategy. Many fights turning into brawls
Gabriel Varga's body functions like the body of a 27 yo not a 37 yo. Everything is still there, chin, speed, endurance, technique, power, flexibility.. it's incredible!
Gabriel is a phenomenal fighter and fits into this company very well. His style of kickboxing is very difficult for sport karate fighters to adapt to plus he's a great fight analyst
Bravo, @gabrielvarga! That was an absolute master class in both skill and grace (winning gracefully and respect for a skilled opponent in Azouz), and we'll be reviewing it with students in the very near future.
When fighting a guy like Varga you really need to work on lateral movement, because this guy has insane cardio and he will pressure you the whole fight.
I'd love to see You vs. Andres Madera next! You the man Varga! I hope to be like you when I grow up my friend, I'm 31, lol. Been a fan since Glory 17 brother!
You can tell that Azouz doesn't have full contact formation by the way he stands in the square. Definitely needs some cross-training with kyokushin or must thai. Still, entertaining right.
Just goes to show the level of karate as a combat sport compared to other stuff. It's just mma with no submissions and I'm here for it lol. Gameplan should be to throw a shot, clinch, close the distance and not give the opponent chance to throw kicks lol. Muaythai and kickboxers that focuses on the hands are going to have a field day.
The one time muay thai ever fought Karate with takedowns allowed it was a 3v3 tourney & the muay thai losts 2-1. One of the fights like karate guy just took him down & beat him up easily muay thai players can’t defend any grappling technique if their wife & children depended on it
Gabriel Verga has really shown the sportmanship of a champion. Got headbutted twice and still went on to rip apart and destroy his opponent. Tommy was only 23, still plenty of space to improve
To beat varga you have to really think and make smart decisions. Athleticism, explosiveness, and flashiness isn’t enough. You need a game plan when you’re coming against someone like him
I hope Karate Combat becomes the umbrella sport for all strikers, similar to how Sambo and lately No Gi BJJ has become for grapplers. Varga will possibly go down as one of the early Pioneers of the sport
That won’t ever happen because no low kicks to the thigh. Disarms all the knockdown styles. No Kyokushin or Shinkyokushin or World Oyama Karate No Shin Karate or Seidokaikan No Ashihara or Enshin karate No Shidokan or KanSuiryu or Byakuren Kaikan No Seiwaikan Goju Ryu or Nippon Kempo
How dare you call yourself nuk soo kow.. even before the fight started i knew he was going to lose by just the name . To me its a sacred name that is to be earned.
It was a pleasure to compete for Karate Combat again.
I'm looking forward to a long future with them.
Amazing Gabriel,
Especially impressive how you handled the grappling and ground and pound situations.
So glad to see you get a stoppage especially the way you did it. You taught Tommy a lesson about respecting your opponent
I can tell it's not fun fighting you 🤔
Great fight champ
Great fight, looking forward for more, love your YT channel so much too! Much respect from a fellow Canadian! 🙂
Tommy said Gabriel was too old and Mr. Varga respectfully showed him why you have to respect your opponent regardless of age. Especially if your opponent is a 6x World champion kickboxer.
KC needs to give Gabriel more exposure! He's the best fighter in the promotion by far.
Aghayev is the best

can´t get over how cool the entire setup is
Gabriel Varga's body functions like the body of a 27 yo not a 37 yo. Everything is still there, chin, speed, endurance, technique, power, flexibility.. it's incredible!
37 isn't far off peak performance in terms of age if you're consistent and don't get injured
Varga is still such a beast at that age, he's the most technical and entertaining fighter in this promotion imo
Ended up here completely randomly so hearing Bas and GSP commenting together was a very nice surprise!
The way Gabriel just kept coming forward like a hunting predator and and delivered those absolutely nasty body shots on the ground was a masterclass 👌
"I've already had 60 stitches in my face, so I have experience with blood." and then smiles.
Stone-cold killer, one of my favorite fighters.
Gabriel is a phenomenal fighter and fits into this company very well. His style of kickboxing is very difficult for sport karate fighters to adapt to plus he's a great fight analyst
Varga is a TRUE Martial Artist!
Gabriel “A Cut Above the Rest” Varga
Respect to Tommy Azouz for taking on this fight!

Hey, i’m from your channel Gabriel. What a fight, master.
The fact that Tommy was cocky beforehand and said Gabriel was too old makes this fight a bit sweeter.
Ah yes, Gabriel Varga securing a dominant win by doing what he's best known for ... body slams and GnP?! 😄
We must've been teleported to another timeline bruh.
Lol I'm not complaining though that was a fun watch!
Improvise! Adapt! Overcome!
The interview with Ian Garrys wife at the end made me really laugh. The last thing I expected was Layla Machado Garry
Yeah? What was so funny about it?
I'd love to see You vs. Andres Madera next! You the man Varga! I hope to be like you when I grow up my friend, I'm 31, lol. Been a fan since Glory 17 brother!
How many times can someone walk backwards and shell up on the ground and eat punches before the fight is called?
i think as soon as they can't seem to be able to defend themselves, the fight is stopped
Yeah it was a very boring fighter idk why they pay those guys to fight
Great fight, some wild action. This ruleset is showing to be better than kickboxing and sure is better than one fc muay thai.
Ground game of Varga is looking clean👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥
You can tell that Azouz doesn't have full contact formation by the way he stands in the square. Definitely needs some cross-training with kyokushin or must thai.

Haven't watched it yet but I know Varga going to deliver.
excellent stuff 👍👍👍👍👍
5:49 what was the plan of Tommy Azouz??? heel kick to the head? Looks very risky and not effective.
Either a heel hook or an axe kick. But yeah, it is risky and ineffective.
Very good fight from both!

9:28 that was definitely not accidental
I know. He was doing it on purpose. This isnt Leth wei

Karate Combat out here taking two inches off of every fighter.
AZOUZ, LIGHT!
The professor in the fifth element
LETS GO GABE 🔥🔥🔥
Is GSP commentating the fight
yes
Is GSP commenting?
yes
Just put some some grease in it. It should be okay bas
Is that MF ing Santa??!!?
Complete devastation by and large by the Vet. 👊👊✊✊👏👏👏🙏🙏
I wanna be like santa
Grande Varga!!!
Why that french fighter surrender
Get in a ring and have one fight, u will understand how easy it is to surrender .
This pit design does not favor the guy backing up at all lol
The guy is literally headbutting on purpose
That Chiken Azouz Did Bad Very Bad
Go Gabriel yay
Why is gabriel varga 172 cm here error? Haha
Gabriel varga is not 5'8 lol
Google says he's 5'10
Yep he's 5'10 .
Tommy "backwalks" Azouz
At least the refs got the result right
5'6 vs 5'8 LOL. I think they have their height info's wrong.
I hope Karate Combat becomes the umbrella sport for all strikers, similar to how Sambo and lately No Gi BJJ has become for grapplers.

I thought Muay Thai, Sanda and Kickboxing already are the umbrella sports for strikers?

Funny how a muay thai guy comes into Karate Combat and starts dominating.
You mean kickboxing
*kickboxer, and yes he's expected to dominate
Gabriel Varga is not just a kickboxrr, he's done everything...including karate of course .. he's very well rounded.
He’s a fourth-degree black belt inside of karate and south east Asian martial arts. He has done kickboxing.
Azouz is such a dirty player ! Didn’t show respect to champion ! Deserve to lose
Varga is good fighter but looks like he doesn't do karate it's kick box
He's a 4th dan black belt in Shotokan
Also dutch kickboxing (k1) is boxing/karate
what a poussy this guy azous is . Oh my god
Gabriel is a BEAST. Showed that young buck what is up with a multi time world champ
