- I don't often come across the Mongols on the ladder, but when I do I am always a little nervous. They can be really tricky to deal with and can do so many things to mess with my plan. See how you think I managed it this time.

Good analysis, javs are a good bet, LBs would've done the job just as well, but they came out a little late for you in this game.
You were stuck with 499 oil for a looong time 6:57 to 8:45.. I would've concentrated on the drop off and get my free units quickk.
Also horseman, are not good defensive unit, mass spears would've easily fended off the keshiks while LB took down archers.

Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it. I'm thinking javs are better because of their ranged armour but lb range helps too. I just need to make sure I can build a mass and not throw away units. Doesn't matter if I have the perfect comp if I let them all die 😂
I think a general thing that would be good is to keep your buildings close to your TC and Towers. Seeing a House near a not protected Gold is a really good healing station for Keshiks. Plus Mongols get Gold and food for destroying your stuff, so adding any Building outside a TC or Towerrange will lead to further problems. Dont know if you still use the strategy of building Houses for vision or you just used to put a House near your Gold but in the case with Mongols i would say this works counter productive. With my Noob knowledge i would say its always worth it to put a Tower on your Gold (or a resource that is outside your TC), even tho reacting to what your enemy is doing, will work better, you can atleast be sure to survive the first raid. Its still is possible to raid early but it makes stuff so much harder :< And you atleast counter a little bit the healing from the Keshiks while they will be shoot with arrows (atleast when they in smaller Numbers).
Yeah, I always forget to change my building placement for Mongols and using walls and towers to defend my base is definitely a weak point. I will keep working on it 💪🏻
