You know, I thought I was the kind of person to write off pincushion distortion anamorphics pretty quickly. But you make a great point about subjects being near the edges of frame. Aside from that subjective take of mine, these look crazy performant for the money. Really stoked on Laowa these last couple years.
I like no mushy-smushy edge distortion even though I know it’s an anamorphic thing... more pin cush than I realized also contrast hit in heavy flares... post tweak pin cush doesn’t bother me... thanks
These look nice, although I'm not the biggest fan of these flares, they have the kind of fishnet/streak filter look to them a little bit. Also I think it would be great if the subject didn't turn their head to the side when showing up close focus on your lens tests as it makes it harder to judge how it distorts the facial features! But maybe that's just me
Super cheap look, plastic no real glass, no use in real business. if you’re on the budget stick with any cheap but proper glass lens and kick in streak 4mm, additionally add barrel look in adj layer. You should get better results 🍸
NOT getting tired of your lens reviews. LOVE your lens reviews. Keep them coming
Not just a lens review but pure education. Well done!
That track is BUMPIN’ 🎶🕺🪩

We originally thought they were great when they said price was 8000/set. But now for 5400 USD/set, that really changes things!
Only non-Panavision anamorphics I'm aware of that have the "vertical breathing" thing. Pretty rad, honestly.
Xelmus use the same focusing method as Panavision
would these work with a speedbooster?
