Holy shit. Theo is a face dancer? Leto II is dead ass staring at the sisters from the future? Desmond’s blood becomes the genetic blueprint for the eventual Kwisatz Haderach?
I definitely think that’s Leto judging the sisters actions I thought something would happen and it would switch from robotic sounds and eyes to eyes that look like a human but still that is definitely Leto watching and judging. Crazy
I must say, the ACTING in this episode was so good. I kept having to rewind so I could appreciate how each and every one of these actors showed emotion. Especially in the Landsraad scene--the facial expressions on everyone! I thought the Harkonnen nephew did great, Kieran Atreides, and of course Valya. Everyone was on their A-game. Also, omg: we got Ixians, we got mention of Mentats, we got the word "Bashar" being used, we got "Kanly," and we got a FACE DANCER. I kept cheering at all the lore stuff in this episode. Loved it!
Anybody else notice the ghola eyes one of the sisters drew while in their artistic trance state? I think the scars on Desmond's back are from the installation of the Ixian tech that allows him to burns everyone. It always seems Desmond's right eye gets lazy when he uses his power and his fingers apply pressure to his right temple. Curious what his power is and hope it is revealed before the end of this season.
Idk if it’s because I haven’t read the books but this was a horror episode that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire hour. And everything in the throne room I was like what the fuck is about to happen this was a great episode
I think that this show is just not for Abu & he's trying to make sense of it, but sometimes a show just isn't for you. I say this because his criticisms just feel very contrived and feel like he's throwing things at the wall to see what sticks & it's not making sense to me. All love though!
I don’t understand Theo’s motivation for undergoing that painful face dance transformation, to mimic a long dead sibling in detail that she should have no knowledge about, just to offer “I got you” emotional support to Thalya. Cool reveal, but doesn’t make sense
Theodosia (a name with the intriguing etymology of "god-given" or "god-giving") is presumably an early version of what (over time) would become the later Tleilaxu face dancers with much more seamless identity transitions. That the Bene Tleilax are now also in the picture, you have to factor in the possibility that one of the key characters may be an early version of a ghola as well.
Seeing as the Ixians provided the hunter-killer to the rebels, and it's possible that the Ixians are behind the tech inside/behind Desmond (or/and the blue-eyed robot), perhaps it was in their interests to inform Desmond of the plot to give him even more influence with the Emperor. After all, Valya was planning to use the exact same knowledge to gain the exact same influence!
I think yall are overthinking it, I think she is a facedancer. It’d be absurd to have a character with abilities identical to a facedancer, only to not be a facedancer. Idk.
Gotta agree with Abu the club/Kieran Atreides stuff was shockingly bad. Once again the episode would've been massively improved without it (Ynes interrupting the council would've been more of a surprise). I don’t think Valia asked the face dancer to turn into her brother; I think she’s there for a greater purpose. The reason she turned into Valia’s brother was to demonstrate she is now willing/prepared to use her “gifts” to help Valia.
So, when Atreides says to the princess (at the club) that his father survived an atrocity, are we meant to assume that the boy that survived last weeks Tula massacre is his father?
I also did not understand why Theodosa/Facedancer took on the form of Valya's dead brother at the end. I kinda like your idea of some personal demonstration to Valya but it's a stretch because clearly it's a very painful process transforming. Also, as only two people alive woudl have any reaction to this dead brother, I cannot see ANY action he/she/it could have performed offscreen either. (tho I can imagine 1000 better choices to imitate if Valya had this power at her disposal!)
Theo is an early experiment by the Tleilaxu, according to the post episode thing by the creators. I guess we know what the Face Dancers are gonna be like in Messiah. :)
Super FUN !!! But, they should invite the OLD actors of TV/Movies to participate in this Dune: Prophecy too. It would be FUN to seen Patrict (Cap Picard) or William Hurt, etc doing 1 scene in this new show!! And about Desmond Tahir, it will be amazing if they find worm or wolf or others animals DNA mixed with human DNA !! Remember that the BOX test is to see if the Human is not an ANIMAL !! And LETO 2 de God Emperor - child of Muah`Dib is clear a Metamorphos and NOT human !!! -- th-cam.com/video/jefnf8_4WsM/w-d-xo.html
i don't like Desmond's power, its undercooked and doesn't fit in this universe. also I'm not a fan of his acting. the use of face dancers so early in the timeline. the common knowledge of freeman culture also is out of timeline. the idiotic portrayal of acolyte BGs. it all doesn't make any sense in Frank Herbert's cannon. i will say if you squint and disregard all these things yes it's a dune universe tv show and that is for sure fun. i hope it gets a second season at least. also i am so impressed with the actress playing Tula.
I hear Abu's concern but it was really good episode.
Holy shit. Theo is a face dancer? Leto II is dead ass staring at the sisters from the future? Desmond’s blood becomes the genetic blueprint for the eventual Kwisatz Haderach?
Maybe Desmond being a child of Harkonnen and Atreides blood like Paul?

This episode took my breath away. It was terrifying.
They were cooking this episode no pun intended
Yeah - imo not self flagellation. He burned many plp which took a toll on him physically but someone/thing is absolutely controlling him.
Theo did it to comfort Valya and establish the existence of Tlielaxu since you can't tell Dune Messiah without yhem.
Post episode doc reveals Theo is Tleilaxu. Absolutely crazy reveal.
Bene Tleilax Face Dancer. They are metamorphic transhumans and sterile.

When Desmond spoke about Arrakis wanting to kill everyone, I thought “guess Arrakis is the Australia of this universe” :D
Idk if it’s because I haven’t read the books but this was a horror episode that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire hour. And everything in the throne room I was like what the fuck is about to happen this was a great episode

Are y'all Buffy/Angel fans? Theo's choice to be Griffin felt a bit like the "would you like me to lie to you?" moment from the Angel finale.

lol -- did you both watch the same episode?

@@poneill65 it was confirmed by the actor who plays Kieran Atreides on the Dune Prophecy companion podcast

I want to believe those is letos eyes but did it song like a cyborg or thinking machine
Did anyone catch Desmond whistling before he went into his trance.. similar to Bijazz
Abu seems crushed. 😢
WTF happened in the end?! what was that?????
Possible face dancer. I believe.

"UNDERcooked"??? 😅
