    Coffey's offensive prowess set numerous records for defensemen in the NHL. He holds the record for the most goals, assists, and points by a defenseman in a single season, recording 48 goals, 90 assists, and 138 points during the 1985-1986 season. Coffey won the Norris Trophy as the NHL's top defenseman three times (1985, 1986, 1995) during his career.

      Not quite correct. Bobby Orr had 37 goals and 102 assists for 139 points in 1970-1971, still the record for most points in a season.

    He's right, the Flames deserved to win and took it the Oilers tonight. Better goal tending, better defense and better offensive finish. Flames looked like a playoff-ready team and the Oilers did not.

    What an outstanding and blessed 🙏athletic 👍. I grew up watching and cheering for the Edmonton Oilers. Not only was I there at the Coliseum to watch Gretzky and all the other upcoming superstars but, to admire and look in awe at how Paul Coffee could skate circles around players, backward too! Not really sure if he skated faster backward or forward, it was a treat to watch.🤗Edmonton was blessed and spoiled when a bunch of unknowns came to and changed hockey! 🏒🏒especially Grant Fuhr🥅.

    Louie Debrusk all touchy feely with Paul Coffey, looked like it bothered Paul Coffey. Be a little more respectful Louie Debrusk. Paul Coffey was one of my favorite. So estatic for Paul Coffey when he got 2 more Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins. How many players can say they won Stanley Cups with both Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. Wow!

  • @seen48
    @seen48 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    Paul, why do the players NOT follow the plan as laid out, not work hard to win battles. It’s like they all do it the same game at the same time. Forwards included in back checking. Another terrible back checking by Connor, Leon. Simply awful since the break.

    I was 16 when Paul Coffey almost broke BobbyOrrs goal scoring record. I still marvel at how he could skate with seemingly little effort. I heard That even Victor Tikhonov said it was unreal or a skater Coffey. I would love to be able to skate like that for one game

    Coffee in his prime was impossible to catch once he got going, very long stride. We were taught to start off with short strides as kids which was the completely wrong approach. He and Bure both hit full stride on the first stroke and were the fastest guys in the league. You could not play a trap with guys like Coffee, they just blew on by. He is too polite to agree with Fuhr but Fuhr is absolutely correct. The clutch and grab era allowed people to hang on for a ride, guys like Lemieux would pack two guys down the ice on their backs and still score. Very dry sense of humour, he took a shot at goalies but it blew right on by the interviewers. One of top d's of all time.

    The problem the coach faces is that instead of having six top players, he actually only has four top players:
    McDavid, Hyman, Draisaitl and Nudgen-Hopkins.😜 Kane is NOT top six )) he is 3-d line player! Oilers need one more Hyman type player

    How did Oilers beat some tough teams lately including Boston? Simple. First line should be Drais/McD/Hyman. They produce complicated points.
    2nd line should be Henrique/RNH/Kane. Stop putting RNH on the top line. Bad idea. By doing so we lost games. Let's win with proper lines which is proper chemistry.

    Lets be honest. Returning to the bench in general is because his kids aren’t very good hockey players. Played against blake in AAA and he was average at best. Not sure about his brother but doesn’t seem to be doing well. If they made the show or a farm team i guarantee Paul wouldn’t be on the bench.
