George describes her journey to coming out as ‘a complicated story’.
She thought being gay would mean she wouldn’t have kids or get married and worried about facing judgement.
When she joined a church youth group she was told it was a demon possession making her bisexual, and so she underwent conversion therapy and became convinced it had worked.
Over the years it became more and more difficult to believe in it and eventually she had a moment of realisation that she was attracted to women.
She struggled with her mental health, but now she says: “I feel like, for the first time in my life, I am authentically me.”
