    Absolutely GREAT unbiased review! But, the DT 1770 are a waste of a $500 bill. I mean, I really tried to love them, but in the end, could not. I just stick with my DT 770 Pro at 1/3 the price!

    I have the DT770 Pro 80ohm, which are also closed back. The most popular headphones in the world for radio stations and studios. They have the same frequency response as the 1770, and only cost £160 a pair.
    You can get the "Mass Dampening kit DT770" from CustomCans for £10 and it gives even more bass response.
    I have the Denon DJ HP1100 as well, and the sound quality is terrible in comparison to the DT770's. But the HP1100's are a bit better for DJ use and flipping on and off your ears.

      I’ve heard a lot of good things about the 770 over the years. Beyerdynamic decided what they were sending for review this time, but I think I might ask for a pair of those to test next. Thanks for the input!

      @@Mojaxx And to really make the DT770's come alive, get a "Audioquest Dragonfly Black". £110 in the UK and about the best USB DAC/Headphone amp you get get. 100x better than the audio chip in a laptop. Plus the Dragonfly can even be plugged into a iPhone to give the phone amazing sound quality.

      @@dj_paultuk7052 I've been looking at that headphone/amp combo, but i was thinking since the 770's are 80ohm you wouldnt need an amp to drive them on a laptop?

    • @dj_paultuk7052
      @dj_paultuk7052 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fropsyh You cannot drive the 80ohm ones directly off the laptop. Well you can but there is not much volume since typical laptops / mobile phones are designed for 16ohm devices. I have a Audioquest Dragonfly Black. Awesome little DAC / headphone amp !.

      @fropsyh 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dj_paultuk7052 I kind of though that since the dragonfly is such a small amp/dac that u can use on your phone, there' d be better options out there but im glad to hear its good since its one of the few amp/dacs they sell here.

    These are quite literally the wOrst sounding pair of headphones I’ve ever owned. Shipped them back today. Nasty sound and not the good way.
    My DT 880 Pros w/Topping A30 Pro, cRush the DT-1770 Pros. The DT 1770s are prettier, I’ll give them that. They’re beautiful, but that’s all

      @@leehuckfield8429 i'll be honest i kept mine and i'm running it with a neve headphone amplifier which cost 500 bucks. i'm in love with them they are the weirdest headphones you almost have to train your ears to them and realize what your hearing to appreciate them.

    I still think any DJ headphones @ $600 is massively overpriced. What about the Audio Technica ATH M50X which loadsa folk now seems to using?

      Hello. Just thought I'd offer my 2 cents. I don't have the regular m50x but I do have the m50xbt. It's supposed to be the same sound according to audio technica but just with Bluetooth. Up until today I was very satisfied with my m50x. They outperform many more expensive headphones in clarity. For example I tried my cousins beats headphones and thought they were trash compared to m50x. I know beats aren't that good but I thought they were at least decent before owning m50x. Anyways fast forward to today and I was using my sennheiser hd 280 pro ($99 msrp) to listen to music. I've had the 280's for a long time but they had just always been for TV. And I decided to compared them to the m50x's in high res audio. Listened to 280 then m50x and I was like wtf. All of a sudden my 50x sounded like trash. With the 50x's there was a static noise in the background. I tried wired mode to make sure it wasn't just the Bluetooth but it was still there. Slightly reduced in wired mode but just barely. I also did this comparison at equal volumes. Anyways the point I'm trying to make is you won't hear the imperfections unless you listen to something without them. Just know better sound does exist. Ps. Idk but perhaps the extra electronics for bt contributed to this in m50xbt.
