So much of my life, and my family's life, took place along this route. Thanks for posting. I haven't lived in Stockport for 30 years (in fact I live in SW France now) but my grandparents lived in Marple, opposite the Regent, and my other grandparents lived on Chadwell road in Offerton. My first house was on Hulme Street, off Hempshaw Lane, and I worked at British Telecom, Brundrett Street, also off Hempshaw Lane. My Aunty still lives in Romiley. I lived with my parents in Marple Bridge. I drank in the Finger Post. I went to Stockport college, worked at BT on Wellington Road and also next to the Post Office near the Bus Depot. Drank in the Manchester Arms. What a nostalgic trip. If I ever go back I know which bus I'm catching a ride on. Cheers
