I'm an English learner, but I don't prefer American English, particularly Utada's pronunciation and speech style. Conversely, despite my aversion to American English, I find it peculiar that your English is articulate and easy to understand, actually I like your English a lot. As an English instructor, do you speak in a manner that's easy to understand? Or do you think there is another factor?
Thanks for the comment🙏🏻 thanks to Hollywood, California English is in a lot of movies and tv shows. So a ton of people around the world are used to hearing it and I just happen to speak California English. Anybody doing a presentation, like a lesson, a speech or a TH-cam video is gonna wanna talk clearly. But that presentation style of speaking is for audiences. Usually one on one, people talk way more subconsciously and don’t even think about what they utter- until they realize the person they are speaking with doesn’t understand the casual dialect. Then the speaker might adjust their speaking style until the listener understands. Having said all that, I’m trying to talk as casual as possible- with a dash of performance thrown in for flavor 😅
@@kysennpai What I felt when I watched the video of you conversing in English is that it would be more accurate to say that the way you speak is refined, rather than simply clear. Regardless of the language used, words reflect a person's background and personality. You probably have a strong academic background. What often happens when speaking a second language is that, due to linguistic limitations, people may treat you differently than in your native language. I hope to speak English as polished as yours. ご丁寧なご返信を有難うございました^^
you insist you've invented the most effective way ever to learn how to pronounce a foreign language like native speakers and you recommend your own color system. But why don't you apply the method to your Japanese pronouciation? To be honest, your Japanese has so strong accents and so many mistakes. Until your Japanese improves to the level where you would think you're, your method is nothing attractive to English learners. What do you think about it?
Ya I don’t point out “mistakes” if I meet you in reality- and TH-cam is NOT reality. In these videos I say things you’ll never hear in reality. Sure maybe your teacher or friend will point out a few “mistakes” but if you really listen closely, I would have to correct HALF of what students say. Most people, friends or teachers are too nice to do that. These videos are a bitter pill for most people to swallow- and that’s why they comment so negatively. Japan ranks worse than other countries in English language proficiency. The ONLY reason why is because teachers don’t know how to teach HOW da become bilingual. Anyway, I appreciate your comment and I hope- more than anything- that you enjoy your time with your friends. I would say making international friends is the highest state of human experience ✌🏻
You are always sharply criticising the English of Japanese people. What I find very curious is your ability in Japanese. There are many grammatical errors in your Japanese, and your accent is not on par with a native Japanese speaker; most Japanese people would realise that you are a foreigner upon hearing you speak normally. Moreover, as long as English remains a ‘foreign language’ to us, no matter how hard we try, we will not become English speakers. 和訳: あなたは常時、日本人の英語の批判を痛烈にしています。 私がとても不思議に思うのが、あなたの日本語能力です。 日本語の文法ミスも多く、アクセントも日本人同等ではなく、普通に聞いたら、ほとんどの日本人は、あなたが外国人と分かるでしょう。 また、英語が我々に取り「外国語」である限り、どんなに努力しても英語話者とはなりません。
Thanks for proving my point 🙏🏻and as a side note, I’ve done videos on non Japanese people too. But guess what? Japanese people were more interested in hearing Japanese celebrities’ English. So when millions of people are watching my video, my goal is to teach stuff that they won’t learn in schools. Then my desire is that they use these tips in reality. Declaring that the trees leaves are yellow is not criticism. It’s an observation of the situation. And when people make pronunciation mistakes, it isn’t just “hard” to understand- it’s not understandable. Nobody wins when you say a word incorrectly. So please, if you have any compassion for my students, let them know that if they wanna be bilingual then they gotta mimic sounds uttered by native speakers. Learning sounds via visual medium is like trying to listen to music by reading a book.ですから俺の日本語は十分です。でも俺の日本語能力は関係ないやろう。このチャネルは英語の教育チャネルです。ky先輩の日本語は十分やん。それで君の英語は十分上手いみたいだから君は俺のターゲットじゃないよ。英語でバイリンガルになりたい人を目指してる。peace out 🤙🏻

Can you explain further? I don’t see the connection
Men and Man, funny

Most people don't say leaves are yellow making fun of tree leaves.
That's the point where many people feel uncomfortable.
Nobody is making fun of anybody here
