What a crock of you know what. Luka is the reason they were there and the mavs were not an elite defensive team. If you really paid attention to Luka and the Mavs up until now, this shouldn't be a surprise. Especially if you really know basketball.
Luka is a bit of a lazy player. He waits until the season starts to get in shape. He's also a liability defensively. He never hustles back on D, he doesn't hustle to get around screens, He doesn't hustle on switches, and he gets cooked on defense when he's 1 on 1. I actually like Luka and feel bad he was traded. But if the Mavs truly believe they have to get better defensively to win chips, Luka getting traded is no surprise. Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call for Luka to tighten things up. His game will be much better if he does.
