i went to an orthodontist today. im sure lots of places do payment plans. my treatment with braces will be like $7500CAD but its only a 30% down payment. then like 200 or so a month. my crossbite is kinda like this, just not quite as bad yet.

siemenssx1 3 months next week and I have my ortho appt on Monday. Not sure what they will do but I have expanders and I’m used to them and the braces now. I forgot what it was like without braces. And I still have my cross bite though. 😒
siemenssx1 no , my ortho recommended it. He said if I don’t fix it, i will have problems with my front teeth in the future because of how they hit when I close my mouth.
Ahmed Al Hosani yeah I thought so too. To shift my teeth over they used rubber bands to move some of my teeth to one side. This allowed space to open up for the other side to be shifted as well which made my teeth aligned parallel to one another.
Tatia Lodge they already took 4 teeth’s out long time ago but honestly I feel this ortho. Is not that good in his job I will search for another one and I already searched about this issue and I found this problem can be fixed by screws or elastic bands but before this u need to take out some teeth
Yeah Drs are crooks. They try to sepl unecessary peocedures. 9ne Dr said to clean up my b9nes first cutiing all my gums open, anotger said headgear and BS. Came across the rire Dr. now im 1 year in just beaces only and my teeth are straight. Similar to this guys cross bite w 2 tooth crooked inwards

Our ortho doesn't explain anything to us, and i'm freaking out and really worried as my son's case was a simple one to begin with ( no crossbite, actually he had a perfect bite- a little overbite+ a little overjet, as dentists say it's normal....

Glad braces helped you. Braces ruined my face tho. I've had them on for years and i still do. Made my face lopsided, jaw tilting to the far right and eyes, nose, and eyebrows asymmetrical because the jaw balances the face. To be honest, i dont suggest anyone to get braces because of what happened to me. I cry over this every night because not only did it ruin my beautiful facial structure, it gave me serious amounts of pain in the tmj.

I always got bullied because I'm a crossbite they always say "PANGIT, haba BABA(Long chin)" and that makes me cry and sad and also I only stay inside of our house because I didn't want to get bullied because it can affect my self esteem. 😞
I was 26 years old when they came on, took them off when I was almost 29. I thought I needed surgery as well, and even tooth extractions, but the rubber band method worked just fine.

Did you start off wearing bands on one side before getting bands on the other side? I also noticed you wore the bands differently on both sides. On one side it went from back teeth to front teeth, was that so it can pull the lower jaw on that side backwards? On the other side, band was put in a box, was that so it could lift the lower jaw on that side up?
@@vvsdiamond08 can't remember exactly. But I would say the bands were on almost every month during the time I had the braces. I also can't recall the brand. However, they used countries to identify the strength of the bands. The only strength I used was "Japan ".
I had the braces put on at my local dentist office, but I could have went anywhere but they were a few minutes away driving. You need to look for a dental office who specialize in orthodontist. They would work with you to figure out the best way to correct the crossbite.
Thanks! One orthodontist near me told me that I would have to have jaw alignment surgery and then were braces for 2 years. I'm gonna get a few more opinions before I think about surgery.

I got mine on in February 2018. I have a lot of gaps and cross-bite similar to yours, as well as twisted molars. There's a lot of movement with the gaps going on at the moment, which is great, but it feels like nothing is happening with my molars and it's quite discouraging. I know I'm only 10 weeks in to my treatment, but did you ever feel discouraged, like it wasn't going to do anything? That's how I'm feeling at the moment... How soon/late after treatment started did you notice your bite improving?
Michelle M I did not see any real progress until year 2 on the treatment. Its a long process and it has to get worse before it gets better unfortunately.

Wow your teeth look great ! I have a crossbite also , (as well as other issues which have corrected) , in treatment for 3 years now . The crossbite has been the hardest and most lengthy of all to correct - maybe the way the teeth have to move through the bone? Treatment has to end soon as root shortening can be an issue for long term braces - still hoping for this result with my crossbite !

Hey, I have a question, I currently have braces & for months, back to back I would have to wear elastics. However, my last 2 app my ortho said no elastics. My question to you is, was there ever a time that you had to wear elastics back to back, but the ortho said no, a couple of times BUT like 2 months after, he said you needed elastics again? Basically, I’m wondering if I’m done w/ elastics, since he said no elastics my last 2 apps. Do you get what I mean? Like did your’s ever say yeah to elastics back to back, but like told you no elastics for like 2 months, but then after those 2 months, your ortho made you wear elastics again? Please, reply back! Orthodontists apply bite blockers to our teeth along with the braces so the teeth don't touch. Once the teeth are in a position where they won't smack into each other, the bite blockers are removed. The benefit of having braces and straightening teeth is so teeth are properly aligned to avoid issues like chipping teeth, etc.
Hey may I ask how did you get your top teeth to be aligned back to the mid line??? Please answer because my front teeth are shifted wayyy to the left :(
We used rubber bands to pull one side of the teeth to other. Once there was enough space, we shifted the rest of teeth so it could align with the top of mid line.
I need braces because my dentist shaved down the surfaces and cusps on 8 of My healthy teeth on one side of my mouth ( I'm a victim of malpractice) so I was told braces will lift them from the root to make my bite touch again. Is this true? Will both the top and bottom teeth move up and out of my gums? That's what I need.

I have a crossbite.I wore only lower braces for 2 years now and they told me i have to wear upper braces while wearing an apliance to push my teeth foward. I really don't want to wear the appliance.i got advice with another orthodonthics and she told me that my teeth can be fixed only with braces without appliance in just 4 months but i have to left it for 1 year just to stabilize it. I dont know if i should believed her.
So ceramic and metal can be adjusted ,a dental technician told me that it couldn't be possible to do so, and why am i seeing this that is would be possible without changing brackets, right? so if ever they will continue my braces i they will change to another new brackets. @@OlaRalu my braces were installed at a month's gap. And for your son, I think every patient has different body and every doctor's way of treating is different, so I would prefer you to either consult your ortho.

What you have is Pseudo Class 3 and Pseudo Cross bite (Fake) It is forward shift of the mandible with deviation. Otherwise, correction is not possible.

There's no way invisalign would have corrected my crossbite. For the amount of movement to align my teeth it could only be accomplished using braces. Also, my insurance would not have covered it.

What about additional teeth insurance? They usually pay half or even the full treatment, depending on which country your in of course.

They did not remove any teeth during the process. Elastic bands were used throughout the whole process.

Before they came off the Dr. filed my teeth to remove the bumps. Good luck!
Bro there might have been a stage in treatment where your upper frontteeth will be hitting lower front teeth how did you manage that pain.
Yes I definitely recall that happening. I tried to keep my mouth slightly open to prevent that issue.

Sleeping is different. I just kept my mouth closed throughout the night. I never grind my teeth while sleeping.
How come no teeth were extracted? And they tell you at the beginning of the journey that it would take more than two years?
I got mine on in February 2018. I have a lot of gaps and cross-bite similar to yours, as well as twisted molars. There's a lot of movement with the gaps going on at the moment, which is great, but it feels like nothing is happening with my molars and it's quite discouraging. I know I'm only 10 weeks in to my treatment, but did you ever feel discouraged, like it wasn't going to do anything? That's how I'm feeling at the moment... How soon/late after treatment started did you notice your bite improving?
Michelle M I did not see any real progress until year 2 on the treatment. Its a long process and it has to get worse before it gets better unfortunately.

Wow your teeth look great ! I have a crossbite also , (as well as other issues which have corrected) , in treatment for 3 years now . The crossbite has been the hardest and most lengthy of all to correct - maybe the way the teeth have to move through the bone? Treatment has to end soon as root shortening can be an issue for long term braces - still hoping for this result with my crossbite !
Hello! Why didn’t you wear elastics at the same time on both sides!? How many months did you wear elastics on each side? I have what you have and my orthodontist said if need surgery however i knew there was another way to correct it for my crossbite. Thanks

Still looks great! But I have to wear my retainers every single night to prevent any shifting. It's amazing how fast my teeth move in one day!

Daniel Cahyo there are no age restrictions on braces and the maintenance would be your doctor's decision. Mine was every 6 weeks.
Hey, I have a question, I currently have braces & for months, back to back I would have to wear elastics. However, my last 2 app my ortho said no elastics. My question to you is, was there ever a time that you had to wear elastics back to back, but the ortho said no, a couple of times BUT like 2 months after, he said you needed elastics again? Basically, I’m wondering if I’m done w/ elastics, since he said no elastics my last 2 apps. Do you get what I mean? Like did your’s ever say yeah to elastics back to back, but like told you no elastics for like 2 months, but then after those 2 months, your ortho made you wear elastics again? Please, reply back! Your teeth look amazing as well, I have a crossbite too, but my ortho said, I would have to get jaw surgery to fix it. 😞 He hasn’t mentioned expanders either. I’m going to mention it to him my next app. It will be 2 years in March that I have been wearing braces.
Yes I had elastics for a year straight, then stopped wearing them for a few months. I would then start wearing them again.
How were you eating with the shifting teeth? Eating and sleeping on moving teeth chips them away.
Eating was never a problem with my teeth. I ate almost anything except hard candy.
Orthodontists apply bite blockers to our teeth along with the braces so the teeth don't touch. Once the teeth are in a position where they won't smack into each other, the bite blockers are removed. The benefit of having braces and straightening teeth is so teeth are properly aligned to avoid issues like chipping teeth, etc.

Hey may I ask how did you get your top teeth to be aligned back to the mid line??? Please answer because my front teeth are shifted wayyy to the left :(
We used rubber bands to pull one side of the teeth to other. Once there was enough space, we shifted the rest of teeth so it could align with the top of mid line.
I need braces because my dentist shaved down the surfaces and cusps on 8 of My healthy teeth on one side of my mouth ( I'm a victim of malpractice) so I was told braces will lift them from the root to make my bite touch again. Is this true? Will both the top and bottom teeth move up and out of my gums? That's what I need.
Before your treatment did you have a problem with your jaws? Like were they longer than normal and if so did they align after treatment? Your teeth look very nice btw 💕
There were no issues with my jaws specifically. My crossbite just caused my jaw to be off centered. But they're now aligned the way they should be.
Trending 4 Solutions oh ok, our cases are sort of similar. I have class 3 with full cross bite and I currently have braces after being told only surgery could fix it lol. I asked about the jaw because I noticed that my right lower jaw protrudes whereas the left is normal and I’m praying that braces fix this so fingers crossed. As you said the crossbite was causing your jaw to not align right so I’m hoping that’s all that it is with mine too.Sorry if that was a lot to read

I have a crossbite.I wore only lower braces for 2 years now and they told me i have to wear upper braces while wearing an apliance to push my teeth foward. I really don't want to wear the appliance.i got advice with another orthodonthics and she told me that my teeth can be fixed only with braces without appliance in just 4 months but i have to left it for 1 year just to stabilize it. I dont know if i should believed her.
So ceramic and metal can be adjusted ,a dental technician told me that it couldn't be possible to do so, and why am i seeing this that is would be possible without changing brackets, right? so if ever they will continue my braces i they will change to another new brackets. Because my recent doctor don't receive any patients anymore so i have to go another clinic..

Yes! It was very bad.

Ri Ri no teeth were extracted during the process. The side profile looks much better then before.

How did you maintain the clear color of brace? Normally they do yellowish color.
Abdul Jasi yes they will get yellow, however to prevent that I brushed my teeth about 4 to 5 times per day, usually 20 minutes after eating.
I used a special cute brush for brackets. Trust me. They work

@@Kartik_Mittal_ that's great news! I want to ask you, if you don't mind, did you have your upper and lower arch of braces installed at the same time? My son had a very minor anterior crossbite/ just the upper canine and he is 7 months into treatment, still with only upper arch braces.

And for your son, I think every patient has different body and every doctor's way of treating is different, so I would prefer you to either consult your ortho.

His bite is completely off right now, he started clenching his teeth because of that, and the upper arch is not in harmony with the lower one. There was no severe pain. It was more of a discomfort and slight pain in the gums. After a few weeks everything felt normal.

What you have is Pseudo Class 3 and Pseudo Cross bite (Fake)
It is forward shift of the mandible with deviation.
Otherwise, correction is not possible.

My bite is nearly identical but I am considering Invisalign. Did you consider Invisalign? If so why did you choose braces instead?
There's no way invisalign would have corrected my crossbite. For the amount of movement to align my teeth it could only be accomplished using braces. Also, my insurance would not have covered it.

i have same teeth as you it is called edge to edge not crossbite i think. hope mine will get nicer like yours! it was only my 1st month using braces i cant wait to see the result and hoping it will turn out good
