It was my privilege to train in the Champs Camp in the mid 80s. Phil Martin was a top bloke and that gym was tough. Some big names in that gym alongside Maurice, including Emsley Bingham, Ossie Maddix. Etc. Hard training I remember especially the double ups and beam jumping which was a killer. The old mural is a miss on the front of the building.

Saw him at champs camp whilst training for a white collar fight, top fella, down to earth and very approachable, great fighter as well.
