1. access (highspeed any bur) - perpendicular to lingual surface - if you feel drop to dentin, stop 2. deroofing (lowspeed #2 round bur) - parallel to long axis - stay away from the wall, know where the roof is in your mind - remove the roof with inside-out motion - check with endodontic explorer if there is any legde on the wall at times 3. if you get straight access, make final access with endo z bur in triangular shape.
