I dont think he actually meant it. He was just trying to encourage the younger viewers to take up physics as he himself is a physicist. I agree its factually inaccurate but its totally valid :)
my lecturer once said the reward for being abstract is generality which makes sense because the best theories and concepts in physics come from really abstract ideas

Me and young Sheldon has one thing in common is trains when I was very young I had a speech delay at the age of 2 I was diagnosed with autism and I was born in Europe and when I was 4 I was able to talk and when I was 10 I learned every math and I stopped doing math and when I was in biology I got everything right and passed it and I was done with high school I wasn’t really smart and I loved playing video games because they are fun and I’m not really smart my IQ is 81 I stayed in school until I was 21 I was in a special needs class my brain is strange the way I remember things like it was yesterday the ability to remember things a long time ago by the time I was 21 I have moderate Asperger’s and 100% autism spectrum disorder my dad was really impressed that I can recall things that happened 20yrs ago and I didn’t really pay attention in school I was really quiet didn’t have any friends when I was 21 I had a girlfriend in a relationship for 2 years and I stopped talking to her I told her I love video games then her ..
The entire idea around sheldon is that he has an idetic memory and obsessive compulsive disorder (ocd) and is an extrovert. That is why he might seem a bit strange. He also finds it difficult to process others emotions so he might seem a bit narcissistic. 😅
I thought that it was established that Sheldon suffers from severe OCD. I think that alone makes it clear that he more than likely isn't like the "typical" child prodigy. If he were the normal child genius he probably wouldn't be as geeked up and competitive as Sheldon is as the lead chracter of the entire sitcom. When I say "typical", I mean as normal as a 14yr old kid graduating college with an M.A., and several doctorate degrees can be. If he were just a really smart kid that wasn't over the top in every other aspect of his personality it wouldn't be as entertaining as it is. Any kid that age carrying an entire prime time sit-com on their back has to be over the top in every way to pull it off well. You kind of come off like that therapist Sheldon's parents took him to when Dr. Sturgis was hospitalized. Only you're pointing out how different than Sheldon you are instead of how much like him you are. Your disposition reminds me of a certain hygiene product young ladies would use on a late spring day. Right On, Right on!! 😆 🤣 Thankfully, you have such a pretty face..

It's crazy how Newton's gravitational equations are technically totally wrong but work very close to 100% accuracy for anything of any significant mass. General relativity extends the gravitation into the motion of light and particles of small mass, and we have extended the concept somewhat further with gravitational waves, but the theory still doesn't explain some of the phenomena in quantum mechanics. For all we know, relativity could be "wrong" in the same way that Newtonian laws were "debunked" by Einstein 100 years ago.
Choosing the chase over the knowledge might just be one of the most selfish decisions possible. Unless other people are being offered this choice, the sheer number of humanity's problems that would be solvable with such knowledge boggles the mind.

To be fair, you could have said "the curvature of space-time". They asked for a definition, not an evidenced based theory on how it operates.
