For many men, feeling respected is a fundamental need, and when this need is met, they are more likely to be open, receptive, and responsive to others.
A man is the head of his own wife. Make we no dey generalise this statement abeg. A man is the head of his own wife. No come office space dey claim you are my head or above me as per what gan gan🙄
It's ironic that these women accept Edgar's opinions, but he doesn't give them the space to share their own thoughts and perspectives in their own unique way
There's a common stigma that men should suppress their emotions, as showing vulnerability may be seen as a weakness and potentially used to their disadvantage
Stephanie argues that women are not below but there is rank and order. She is still saying the same thing, probably the word below feels demoting, but that's just how it is and you can't change it
I completely disagree with the notion that there’s ever a circumstance where a man should slap his wife. To me, it's about self-control. If someone slaps you, the right response is to walk away from the situation, and if it escalates, you call the authorities. You don’t retaliate with violence, especially not towards your wife. Just as in any other setting, if another man hits you, you're likely not going to hit them back. There's absolutely no justification for physical violence, regardless of the situation.
The dichotomy here is the need for western values and awareness that are based on rule of law and constitutional provisions vs cultural mores and traditional values upheld by the average Nigerian. You’re obviously mixing both to a very confused and maligned outcome.
Aunty Ruth I don’t get why you keep bringing Edgar here, his contributions are just based on his life experience and never should be generalized. Talking about African marriage, it’s our culture and shouldn’t be degraded the way he talks. If he’s comparing it to the western world pls let him know they have their culture too, let’s celebrate ours

I like this Joseph Edgar... He speaks without minding. He defend human rights and never condemn anyone no matter the life and sex they chose.
It’s crazy the great amount of respect some women have for their pastors over their husbands

Women are not below!
Societal structures and cultural norms have traditionally conferred advantages and privileges to men, perpetuating gender-based disparities
I like joseph Edgar, he should be invited alone without the other distractions, but steph makes alot of sense but doesnt have enough time to land.

Slapping anyone is physical assault. People get shot for that. So get it right,do not put your hands on anyone.
This guy wants to be the only one talking. He seems to think his opinion is the only one that is correct, interrupting and talking over people.
