Billy Ward is one of the best rock drummers to ever play. Sooooo underrated.
Its Ozzy on vocals
Geezer had recently become a father (album is from 1973) and this and the brilliant last track are about his thoughts on the mysteries of life.
So glad you enjoyed this! This was a lot of fun to watch! A National Acrobat's topic is about reincarnation, and appreciating your life for what it's worth, and that you should "live for every breath", with the lyrics being addressed to the listener in a very straightforward way, especially in the second have when he literally says, "I'm talking to you; I want you to listen, I'm trying to get through." More brilliant music from Tony Iommi with the great Geezer Butler writing the lyrics. (Incidentally, both Butler and Iommi were raised Catholic.) The fantastic drummer is Bill Ward, who is probably the most underrated great drummer ever. He comes from a jazz background, which was a unique great first metal drummer to have for the first metal band.
Either if you are a religious person or Atheist. The song can open up a whole lot of thoughts of what really happens after death.
As the song is probably about a dead baby and what it is thinking. In the perspective of a dead baby / stillborn baby.
How I interpret the song is that The beginning features as where the sperm enters the uterus and enters the egg as the lyric (Destruction of the empty spaces is my one and only crime)
(I am the world that hides the universal secret of all time) can mean that it tells us that the soul of the baby actually knows what happens after death.
Nice analysis.
Hell yes!!! This is one of my all-time favorites from Sabbath. The melody and guitar riff are excellent. Another hidden jem by Sabbath is THE THRILL OF IT ALL from the Sabatage album. The song follows a very similar pattern that's so cool.....check it out. 🤘
It's FUNKY like gym socks in july
These guys ... as time passes I appreciate them more and more
my fav Sabbath album, nice reaction!
Reincarnation... And yeah this tune is a vibe 😁
😮😮😮😮. Not groovy? I hear a killer groove. Bill Ward kills it on this one.
You can never go wrong with Black Sabbath. (OK, first 10 albums anyway) Yes it was Ozzy on vocals.
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, their 5th album that this song is on, was considered peak Sabbath by the band themselves.
The title track is amazing, try out "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", it has one of the hardest riffs ever laid down.
First 11 albums. You forgot born again... after that you can "go wrong" way wrong...
One word: Reincarnation.
Reincarnation doesn't make sense
@@davidburrows4801 How? What else makes more sense than reincarnation?
Awesome reaction. A great deep cut from one of the best albums of all time
🤣hah hah I love when people say this, the second song of the first side of the album is a deep cut, 🤣🤘
Bill Ward is a beast on the drums. Geezer Butler is really tight on Bass
honestly i think geezer is the main reason i love black sabbath so much. every single bass line is so solid especially into the void which is my favorite bass song ever lmao
Ozzy on vocals
Dope!
I don't know who told you it's Dio on vocals but you're wrong, it's Ozzy Osborne on vocals. It even says on the intro screen that's it's Osborne, Ward, Iommi and Butler. So Ozzy was singing this. Ozzy sang on this album, Sabotage and the 3 albums after this. Surely you must have noticed his voice!!!?
Surely, you watched the reaction because she corrected herself and said it sounded like Ozzy
Apparently, the song is about the thoughts of an unborn child. The lyrics also give some general advice about life itself. As we were all born, we should live our life to the fullest ... never heard it, so nicked the appraisal from a fan web site !
Ozzy!
It is a very lilting melody.
If you're in the right frame of mind The end is a big head rush But fluff will bring it back down gently. Some of you guys know what I'm talking about
First 8 Sabbath albums 1970-79 was:
Iommi, Ward, Butler, Ozzy
Next 2 1980-81
Ozzy replaced by Dio on Heaven and Hell
Appice replaced Ward on Mob Rules. This same line up was responsible for Dehumanizer and The Devil You Know
All other lineups you will need an abacus, a slide rule and an old yellow pages.
let me know if yer looking fer any new tunes to react to.
Funky Sabbath
Many years since I last listened to this it's like another 1st time. Being less attentive back then, I couldn't give a monkey's about the song itself. It was Sabbath, and that's what mattered. As long as it grossed out those around me, it wend on loud. Hard to think that vile animal turned into the soft hearted pussy cat I am now.... Still love the genre, the heavier, and louder the better. What is it about youths having to make the boldest statements , and getting kick out of making other repulsed? Of course have those answers. A lot of lost memories have been restored, and sometimes they would have been better staying buried.
I was asked what I do for heating in the colder months. The answer is nothing. We haven't had heating for 8 years now. There are options. Either starve and stay warm, or vice versa. Not what we thought it would be like when we got married, but it's the hand we've been dealt. Interesting thing is, if we came here as illegals, we would have been housed, given more than enough money to live on that they can afford to run a car, and send money home. I'm not bitter about it. But I am very bitter at the injustice having contributed to this country all my working life, and they haven't.
Nuf griping from me. Be well, be blessed, and know that how ever bad it seems, it's all transient. TTFN.
I believe Ozzy is doing the vocals here.
If you have not seen War Pigs live 1970 vid. Bill Ward is a beast on the drums They probably had to throw away the drum kit after that concert
Reincarnation
Its not Dio or Ozzy, its Tony Iommi, thats Black Sabbath. No one gets it right. 🎸
ozzie
That is definitely Ozzy at his peak. Ozzy was a great vocalist. And as far as I'm concerned Black Sabbath ended when Ozzy was let go.the other bands were good but not Black Sabbath
Metallica have covered this song, but they stop before getting to the ending part where Sabbath really start to get down.
Usually Metallica do pretty good covers, but they butchered this one. Trying to make it a hybrid of Sabbra and Acrobat didn’t work. And they shouldn’t have picked a song whose drumming is so intricate. As much as I’d like to give props to Metallica for picking a relatively lesser-known song to cover, the execution was just too lacking.
Now listen Vanusa what to do. The real and original song.
Correct you did make mistake about the vocals.
Nope that’s ozzy on vocals
Dude this is Izzy not dio
Ozzy
Sorry but you seem to be going through the motions on a superficial level. Try it again and next time HEAR the LRYICS:
I am the world that hides the universal secret of old time.
Destruction of the EMPTY spaces is my one and only crime.
Those two verses alone should have evoked some thought and introspection -but.....nothing. Please - you need to hear this.
On a first listen? Who processes everything on a first listen? That's like taking a kid in a candy store and expecting them to focus on the giant gummy bear. 😂 😊
@@BetterEveryDayTH-cam I don't see what you're protesting when at 3.35 you admit to what I am saying "not thinking to deep into the lyrics" which begs the question: What specifically are you reacting to? The algorithms of what's popular for this ten minutes? When I seek reactions, that is what I'm looking for - not those who are just phoning it in and my point is which I picked up right away is you appear to be phoning it in regardless of the simps on your channel.
You have the potential to do better and grow your channel - but if you're just going to phone it in, well that will reach its own limitations. Choice is yours.
@@BetterEveryDayTH-camI agree with the op, you don't know who's singing asking the people in the comments what the lyrics mean. Wtf you have the lyrics on the screen or can Google it. Most reactors read the lyrics after the video if they don't get them. Funny he said "I want you to listen, I'm trying to get through" when you were babbling" just remember love is life and hate is living death" 🤘if you can't get the lyrics on the first time, a second watch reaction of only the lyrics should accompany your videos.
It is about ejaculating no joke
Ozzy could pack some high notes at the time.
