Alaska dressed as a witch - I LIVE!
The real gag is that Alaska actually has a really strong ear. Her pitch is great. Her vibrato is solid. I just think people assume her to put on the character voice...I wonder what she would sound like totally stripped down without any of her -isms.
I would have loved it if she had sung that with none of her "isms" She has a brilliant voice!
@@AdventuresOfALifeTime Right?! I'm not a queen but I've been doing professional musical theatre for ages and the performance element is so similar. It's actually made me want to have someone put me in drag for the 1st time. It would have to be someone fierce, though 😉 Anyway, I'm kind of a vocal snob...bc it's literally the one thing I can objectively judge and call out any fuckery with and feel equipped to do so. But...I've been able to figure out the following RuGirls have musical theatre training and BG, before and during their RPDR stints. I'm sure I'm forgetting some...please fill in any blanks. Monet, Courtney, Bianca (she was playing character roles in musical theatre pre-drag race), Jinkx, Sharon, Willam, Latrice (her Frank N Furter was good!), Adore, Trixie, Kennedy, Peppermint. I feel like I could hand any of them sheet music and we could actually all be able to learn it easily. Music is funny...some people just can't sustain a note, even if they have good pitch. So many BAD singers have BAD pitch but they just belt it out. Strong and wrong is a trend too, I feel. 😊
the last album she did with Jeremy was pretty out of character for her, it's amazing

@@hoemogenic I love Son of a Mother! It's barely autotuned...and you can hear her real voice. Did they do a full album or just an EP/single? Lol...I found the full album a minute after I typed this. Thanks for turning me on to it! I have a long road trip ahead of me. It will for sure be on the playlist!
