I also like the lack of lyrics because Sonic has nothing to say, nothing to prove. He's always been his own master, so no need to chat when he can just DO what he set out to do from the start.
Can't believe this didn't occur to me but YES
The beginning sounds like a chant you'd hear at a sports event. The piano being from the island while Sonic is the guitar, aka a new addition that's soft and gentle yet not overpowering the island itself. Instead the two create harmony, which is funny since guitar and piano aren't meant to be played together. Sonic's been associated with acoustic guitar since like 06 and the IDW comics recently so the music choice is probably intentional if we look at it from that angle.
There's probably more, if I think about it clearly. Sonic is also the second wind of the ancients to do what they themselves couldn't do, aka beat the End and protect uh insert planet name here. Sonic's whole thing is living in harmony with nature, and Starfall Islands is a place reclaimed by nature, so it makes sense they'd meld so well once they understood each other. WIND aka Sonic's element motif IS the element of communication and we SEE this throughout the entire game!
Encouraging talks with Amy, Knuckles, Tails, trying to get through to Sage instead of attacking, hell the first thing we see Sonic do after he wakes up on Starfall Islands is TALK to someone! Sure that someone tried to kill him but yknow that happens a lot what else is new--.
With all the words out of the way in the main story, there's no need to speak now when he knows what he has to do and is determined to do it. Everyone's on the same page, no one needs encouragement or reassurance.
Now? Sonic communicates in HIS terms, through ACTIONS.
My favorite part of the song is the first bit with the thunderous roar of clapping,like the crowd or ancients and your friends are cheering you on like cheerleaders at a football game,to push through the trials and overcome everything he’s gonna face

Great analysis. I like how you said Sonic is the back bone of the team showing he is one member of the team rather than being most of the body of the team doing nearly all the heavy lifting because he is the main character.
Thannk you so much! And yeah I did mean specifically "Back Bone" as opposed to the body or anything else. He's the thing keeping everyone together and encouraging them to do their part. But everyone else is just as important as he is. He holds them together but they're the building blocks.
An actual team as opposed to team sonic. I think that's something the DLC does super well. Emphasizing the fact that Sonic is nothing without his supporting cast/his friends at the end of the day. They became beloved for a reason.
@@TVGN20000 I know everyone says this but if you put the other members of the team as a body part, then Tails is the brain of the team, Knuckles is the muscle and Amy is the heart. Obviously all four characters have varying levels of each trait mentioned but it's only when they're together that they bring out the best of themselves in each other.
Stoked to find something like this ! Sonic music my beloved ! Not enough musical analysis lately in this here fandom ( well in any fandom really but... y'know ) so I'm always happy to hear more, especially about the less talked about tracks ^^
I don't know why more people dont take a look at the music, since in my opinion it's full of meaning, especially the Frontiers tracks now more than ever. But I'm glad I was able to at least get this out. I was holding it in for a while. I'd love to see people's interpretations of these songs.
