Around 10:45 p.m., the barrier gate was also closed in preparation for the bridge to swing. You can park your car underneath the bridge and walk up to the bridge to see the bridge up close.
Han River Bridge is one of the bridges spanning the Han River in Da Nang, Central Vietnam.
This is the first swing bridge designed and constructed by Vietnamese engineers and workers, and is the only swing bridge in Vietnam today.
The bridge is a line connecting two main roads of Da Nang, Le Duan street on the West bank and Pham Van Dong street on the East bank.
Han River Bridge has a length of nearly 500m and a width of nearly 13m, each bridge span is about 33m long.
The special feature of this bridge is that it can rotate 90 degrees.
When rotated, the middle part of the bridge will split in half, opening up a large road for ships to pass through.
The only time the Han River Bridge rotates is at 11 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. You should arrive 20 minutes early if you want to see this special bridge rotate.
Initially, the bridge was designed with a rotating system to serve waterway traffic, making it convenient for large ships to travel. Over time, the bridge became a nightlife attraction as a symbol of Da Nang City
The bridge will take about 15 minutes to rotate and another 15 minutes to return to its original position.
