The game I played was a bit different. I was able to do everything until about 4:50 mark, and failed there because there are 3 advanced towers shooting at the helicopter when I tried to fly my engineers there to capture buildings. So I ended up doing the old fashioned way..... use engineers to capture enemy radar and then build refinaries next to the radar to get income... then proceed to build air stripes and mass a tank force to overwhelm the GDI base...... but this approach took a very long time.
Sometimes the things you do make absolutely no sense. You don't even cheese the whole game. I mean if you are gonna engineer/steal their whole base, why the fuck don't you just make a bunch of them steal all the buildings and sell them. Makes me wonder, wtf is he doing ?
Took a different approach. After recapturing nod base i went north and capture the radar. Build a refinery and established my base. Note i kept the guard towers blocking my base and destroyed it last.
I lost this mission so many times when i destroyed the guard towers. i didnt know that if i destroyed guard towers blocking the nod base, gdi sends the entire kitchen sink on ya non stop
How is the guard tower not shooing at you at the 7:00 mark? edited to add: And the mammonths? Knowing how this game is scripted makes these missions go from extremely difficult long slogs to quick, yet highly technichal and micro intensive cheese fests, lol
The tower didn't attack me because the GDI AI is lacking power. And for the Mammoth Tank, as long as you don't attack it or any other building or get too close, you are good.
Oh yes. There are some more Nod missions where you specifically need to do this, both in the campaign and in the expansion missions. In the original game, Commandos could steal them too, probably as side effect of their bombing ability. I'm honestly not sure why they changed that; that was cool as heck.
Funny I stumbled across this comment today, I just uploaded a video where I try to do this on a ladder game, opponent Chinook + Engy my base and I order my Engineer to capture his Chinook, it's literally 1 inch away before he flies away. Sad face. Always wanted to pull this off in a hectic ladder match. One day I will manage!
How so? He picks up the crate under the church at 2:53, even without destroying it. It doesn't matter who destroys the church anyway; the crate will always just be there.
Yeah I know, there is no difficulty settings for the version. The game is already very hard IMO, the hard difficulty of the remastered version breaks a lot of mission tho.
The enemy engineers never actually capture your base? I could swore they Chinook + Engineer the bottom left corner. I always put flame throwers as guard there, guess you can just ignore it. The AI sucks ass in this game. EDIT: 14:28 can see them arrive on the minimap, guess they are trying to capture your Refinery on the otherside of the map.
That part when you fly the chopper with one cammando and engineer I have two Advanced Guard Towers on mine!!! I'm playing medium. You must be playing casual?
I only played the game on hard difficulty. If there is advanced guard towers, it means that you are way too slow in the execution of the plan shown in the video. The AI will build advanced towers after a certain time, you need to be fast.
@@THEZOD Sorry for the late reply. You are totally right I was too slow and that is why the computer already built them Advanced Guard Towers. Certainly much harder on the PC. I remember back in the day playing the original game on PS1 and using cheats lol. I really wish they make a remastered Red Alert 2!

2:44 huh guess GDI were massacring civilian after all, Kane was right
Colonel Sheppard: "It's a lie, all of it. GDI wouldn't slaughter children."
Kane: *I HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE, AND ONE OF MY COMMANDOS IS AN EYEWITNESS.*
They were specifically Nod-friendly civilians though, so obviously they're all terrorists. You see their humvee attacking GDI troops.
GDI casually committing war-crimes, lol.
I have tried your approach and it works :) It is very strange that you are inflitrating the base and AI just chills around :D
fully impressed!
best mission play i ever had seen
I find it funny that the Nod "agent" who plants the signal flare for your base is named Joe.

I'll try to do it your way. Never tried this mission before. :-)
Dude that is excellent cheese. Chefs kiss
Por favor repair that construction yard ! My heart jumps every time
I guess like high sensation 🤣
Extra 2K missed when you allow the church to be destroyed by the MG
You got me there 😅

@@Nyerguds Good spot... missed that bit!
@@Nyerguds I must say that you are really sharp with this game, I didn't notice myself when I watched it again 😂
I'm on the old school so there are no difficulty settings. And there is no way to do that sad to say
