Usually, when a song makes someone cry, it's only the first few times and then they begin to desensitize the more they listen to it.
But this. This cover is one of those things I can listen to hundreds of times and it still hits me just as hard as it did the first time I heard it.
The funny part is, while Nyxi's vocals are amazing and angelic and her performance hits me hard here, the part that really gets me in the feels the hardest is the slow fade out at the end, when all that's left is the piano playing the main melody. The way the melody is played during the fade out is just heartwrenching.

@@ThomasDiognardi I'm a musician too so I learn to appreciate the smaller details (although I'm more of a guitarist/vocalist than a pianist). If you ever plan on doing a Simple and Clean cover with a male vocalist and I have good enough recording gear by then, hmu.

It really struck out to me the very first time I listened to Utada's version in 2018, has something weird and it didn't sound good at all.
2 Years late to this, but know this made me cry. The arrangement is awesome and Nyxi's voice brought me down BAD. I feel like Aqua is singing in the Realm of Darkness as she looks for a way out... Spectaular. You guys are monsters in the best possible way.

About a month ago my girlfriend of almost 5 years and I decided to take a break in our relationship. We both were in very rough spots mentally and we agreed that some space was needed to figure things out. It didn’t take too long for me to realize that I’m still in love with her and that much i miss her in my life. Now I’m sure that I want us back together. We’ve been talking and we plan on seeing each other at the beginning of November, but nothing is certain of what will become of our relationship. I just want us both to be happy. This song and specifically this cover is pretty much the exact emotion I’m feeling. Just beautiful work.
