A Really Cool Vintage 1894 SS Stewart 5 string Banjo called the Thoroughbred Special. It comes with the shown non original Soft Shell Case!
This Banjo is all original but the head.. This was the first year for the New Adjustable Neck Brace which is shown and operable. Beautiful Carved neck and wonder inlay work on the headstock. All serial numbers, manufacture inlays and of course the Horse Decal are still here. We identified the date from the 18046 Serial Number...
Our Tech did a great job setting this cool banjo up. Great action that plays like a breeze. Its really loud! Nice low action and ready to play with nice new strings.
The only malady is the original tuners need referbishing. They don't hold the tune like they should. Our Tech helped them out some but will need some attention. We didn't polish the chrome body. We'll leave that up to the new owner.
I am not a banjo player but was happy when I was able to identify this historic banjo. Please ask any questions. I will do my best to answer them.
The Case is no original as you can see. However, it will help transport your cool banjo until you can possibly find a more appropriate vintage correct case.
Its really cool. However, its sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used. Thanks for respecting that.
