I love how this show deconstructs the “magical village” trope by showing that a town of innocent, cutesy characters living in a fantasy world would be _very_ sheltered.
To be fair, there entire town was encased in a magical barrier.
To be fair, they had no idea that the barrier protecting them would actually fail by sheer bad luck.
(because Mao Mao's a black cat Haha funny joke)
So of course they never thought they would face actual danger, and thus never prepared for it.

What this episode has taught me:
Cats are liquid
Torturing criminals mentally is okay
You can squeeze somebody's eyeballs to the point where they could fall out and they can still be alright.

Also cats can fly....... We seem to have glossed over that part
One of those criminals acted like the kind of asshole who thinks he can get away with being an asshole because he's so charismatic and cunning. And for a while, it actually works, which makes you hate them even more.
I have the MOST fun watching antagonists have that confidence and cool shattered apart.
I mean, the eyeball bit does have some truth to it

I love how his concern shifted from the town being scammed to his daughter catching bad morals.

Two scammers ruin a kid's innocence and then get scarred for life.

Scammers try to con a child, end up in the hellraiser dimension and can never unsee then things they witnessed

Mao Mao's "Outfoxed" and "Not Impressed" were legit two of the funniest episodes of any cartoon series I've seen in years.

Moa is a master of diguise,
Moa is evil,
Moa wants his sisters and his father to be proud of him.
Silly you can’t question Mao Moa’s moral standards he has none.

bittersweetbean is joust so sad the intense neglecting he went through his entire childhood, why do the animators have to appeal so much to real life, only good cat parents are those who went through the hardest times of their life, so when adopting kids they try to give them all the love their mother couldn’t give them, brings me a tear every time

Finally some more character development for her. I mean she is adorable (haha) but it is often difficult to keep child characters interesting so I'm glad they're developing her.
