    Awe! My mother helped me move two years ago and threw away all of my stash, saying, "What in the world are you keeping all of this junk for?!" Years of junk gone. 😢 note to self, don't let mother in the workroom anymore.

      I am a bit of mixed media minimalist. I don't keep large stashes. It makes me confused. LOL. I try to work through anything I have on hand really quickly. But my mama threw away my best ripped, holey, patched jeans when I was 13 so I can totally empathize!!

      Hi Jeri! A start box is so helpful when you have a few minutes and think...we'll I'd like to make something but I don't want to drag out a bunch of stuff! it's like instant art!

    That was fun seeing how you go through. I do the same, but always worry that I'm going too quick and missing something great. My favorite part was guessing which things you would choose, which were often very different than what I would have chosen, which was not only fun, but opened my eyes to see things I wouldn't have. Thanks for sharing, Tammy.

    • @TammyBrackettDesigns
      @TammyBrackettDesigns  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Colleen!!! TY for your kind comment. I always feel like the first thing that catches my eye is THE thing I need to choose and then I ditch (recycle) everything else. At heart, I am a minimalist. Which often contradicts mixed media concepts! LOL. I am so glad you enjoyed this video. I'm publishing two videos about processing my out of control scrap box - those will be published November 2 and 4!

    Soaking postage stamps in warm water will remove them from their backing paper very easily. After a few minutes, they will slide right off and then you can dry them upside down on a paper towel. Postmarks are interesting too!

      Delores, I've never tried this but I will. THANK YOU for the awesome advice. I love postmarks, too. !

      Tammy Brackett Hi there I love your drawing I think it's fantastic! & your videos are inspiring as well. I hope you don't take this rude but take a look at "KellyDonovan's KnittingandThings" TH-cam channel. She has a fantastic channel & a video that helped me SOO SUPER MUCH, regarding "drawing faces from magazines"--helped me learn how to paint faces & humans for the first time. Thanks again for this great inspiration!

    I thouroughly enjoy cutting magazines also. There were many many things you flipped past or cut through. Uuurgh 😱

      @TammyBrackettDesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL Oh Sherbear! You make me laugh! Yep I tend to process magazines really fast. I like that the first image that draws the eye is always the one I clip! Thank you for the chuckle!

    Love the idea, but I really wish people would get in the habit of editing. This should have been done in 5 minutes max. Go through a few pages, not multiple magazines. Prepare ahead of time instead of randomly choosing as you film.

      Duly noted, mam.

      Janet T everyone has a different style and a lot of people like to watch her do her thing and go through multiple magazines to see what she decided to keep from them.. I understand why you would want it to be straight to the point and quicker but not everyone in the art/crafting community is that way so she should do something because it is her vision of what she wanted it to be, not people please her way into not liking her own channels video style and in turn not even wanting to make Any which is not really a rare thing on TH-cam sadly enough

    • @anaidkc
      @anaidkc 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh wow how interesting to assume that one way is prefered by all. That caught my attention. I would imagine that Tammy made the video just as she prefers to make it. Just as well those (many) of us who enjoy THE PROCESS and the train of thought behind the work greatly love your videos and anyone who might not see it fit their liking should may be find a better set of videos made to their own preferences. But to imply the video was wrongly prepared just baffled me. lol Sooo funny! great video! Love it!

    I saw tons of stuff I could use, sadly I don't think you are anywhere near northeast Oregon or I would propose a get together/exchange. I try to get magazine from friends when I can.

      Thank you for your comment! I get magazines like you, when I can. I only have maybe 4 or 5 at a time because I don't like clutter. LOL. So just a few at a time give me the images and inspiration I need. Have a great day!
