      I am with you Elijah. This sure would boost ridership. The ADA wiped out ridership on some major express routes and this bus would REALLY serve everybody. Long haul transit service for the able-bodied corporate employees and would help the major corporations stay out of trouble for if a corporation would want to look at investing in hiring people with disabilites. But sadly, you realize how much these big buses would cost?

    Hey. These would be a big hit for the transit companies. The public loved it here in St. Louis when we had similar buses. It is time we bug the living daylights out of our senators so that our transit systems would get funded big time. And if that happens, MCI would be hit with orders after orders for these.

      There is an order for 307 express buses, with 50 buses for NYC Bus in the Staten Island Division, and the other 257 for the MTA Bus depots in Queens and The Bronx, which were once run by private bus lines.

    This is radically different from EU Low Entry buses and coaches, here the whole front half is low floor. A good example would be the Setra S416LE Business. But I like how they did it with this one, a nice little comfy compartment for wheelchair users or people with a pram

  • @patrickrichmond9896
    @patrickrichmond9896 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Now if Greyhound wants to succeed, THIS is what they need to buy. But knowing Greyhound, they don't want to give up any luggage space for a drug dealer's luggage for a wheelchair. But if we want to boost ridership on our transit systems, THIS is the bus to get.

    • @BusTVChan
      @BusTVChan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Really not happy to see something like this exist. We should be willing to wait for the accessible lifts for more room and comfort for all. Riding low floors are not comfortable at all I do not care. I have riding experience and don't tell me otherwise. It's such a shame it has come down to this where something like that is designed, unfair to the accessible. That literarily is the luggage compartment area.

      @@BusTVChan anyone remember the Renaissance model? I have the original brochure from when that coach debuted in fall of 1998. Perfect design for the approaching Millenium at the time. Now 20 years later this D45 crt does not look much different from the Renaissance model. The D series was great for the early to mid nineties era. Now the D4500/102DL3 design out of date. The design is still a rectangle or box........no aerodynamics at all. Today, these coaches need to be sleek for fuel economy and minimize drag and wind resistance.
      Like I always stress. Everyone needs to get with the times.
