Love watching your vids I visit Blackpool about 4 times a year for short breaks I stay on Hull road which is really handy for everything your vids are very interesting and informative x
That fire revealed a hidden sign from the days of livery stables for hotel guests. The actual Clifton (?) Hotel mentioned on those bricks could be where Costa or British Heart Foundation are trading from now! Excuse me shop manager, is this the old Clifton Hotel? No idea, young lady. Next please! Did you say young lady? NEXT PLEASE!
Hi Jane thank you for another great video as always its real treat for me looking round the shops when I come to Blackpool as where I live we are seriously lacking which is quite sad have a lovely day xx
We are so glad you mentioned Waterstones Jane. I would love to know how many bookshops and stationers there were in Blackpool in the 1950's. I thought BonMarche stopped trading before lockdowns but Kris knows different. I do not even know if they sell clothes for men ... when I want an item of clothing I think about it for about a year and then take six months actually getting into the act of purchasing - by which time the shop I was intending to buy from has gone into administration! I want Dunne and Co back ... the return of Greenwoods ... so many more. The clothes I see are meant for people at least 30 years younger than me. Kris is slowly changing that - a long term project! Can you please tell us Jane; are dogs allowed in many shops in Houndshill? And in Blackpool generally? It would be very useful indeed to know.
Thanks for the tour. Good to know what's there now, but like many places, a lot of it could be anywhere with the focus being on chain stores. I have fond memories of family holidays in the 70s and 80s when all the markets were in full swing and all the independent gift shops and fashion stores.
I love TK Maxx too mostly for the Halloween merchandise! I remember you giving us a tour of the toy shop recently. Some cracking shops there. Always something to see x
Thank you Jane for the tour round the shops, very much appreciated, as I don't go shopping now that was a real treat. Thank you. 😘💚
