I Started with AHK and after some years learned AutoIt. Spent some years using both. My conclusion is that I like AutoIt a lot more because of the syntax, structure and use of arrays as well as some other things. AHK is easier to start out with but as the scripts gets larger and more complicated, AutoIt becomes a better choice in my opinion.
I was looking for script to open device manager expend the window the content then take a screenshot, page down take screenshot continue this till end of window the stitch the screenshot together . I found it on autoit forum . haven't found it on autohotkey but I do find autohotkey easier to learn
2:30 I was noob when I started to use autohotkey, now I can understand almost every code even non-autohotkey coding are making sense to me, I have automated almost every thing of my daily tasks
As if there was not already enough "Strongly worded" posts on Stack-Overflow and other sites like that. I can understand more veteran people getting annoyed by constant newbie posts and such, but at least they should be able to put themselves in the newbies shoes and realize they were in that position as well. I usually search around before asking for help, but I never got a dickish response from both the Forums or the Discord when I have asked in the Autohotkey community, AutoIt from that stand-point does not sound like my cup of tea.
I had the weird idea for myself that I should maybe take a look what interesting libraries people made in AutoIt... And then port them into AutoHotkey, since they both share similarities here and there.
a lot of people just want good results and may never use this software again for a one time task... they move on to the next situations without head-shrink analysts. thanks...:/

P.S. have you looked at Version 2 of AutoHotkey? I think, for more complex tasks, it will be a better fit than AHK_L.

Discord is a pretty good place to get "live" help. :) I don't hangout there, but I know lots that do...
