makstone don't be hating on other drummers man, Travis does Travis and Sput does Sput and theres no one who could do them better than they do themselves
in some ways, this song seems like a pre- What About Me and Lingus mixed together... Some grooves and parts in the overall rhythm really made me think of those two other songs :)
6:30 SPUD GOT DAT DRUG DEALER LOOK I KNOWS THAT I KNOWS THAT CUZ I SEES DAT TYPE IN MY'S HOOD IN N.Y.C REALLY BUT REALLY I LOVE SPUD I REALLY DO MEANS IT YA
Sorry to say, but If you're going to assault the senses, something that the modern rock format was designed to do, the least you can offer is some insights, or show your audience something OTHER than all the time you spent practicing your instruments. Unless it's all about inputs of time and labor and easily quantifiable results and little else. So here's a small insight for you, know what an opamp is right? The little component in amplifiers that boosts voltage of your musical instrument? Works by electromagnetic windings right? Always prone to electromagnetic or radio frequency interference (that means through the air), especially if not properly SHIELDED, or if deliberately targeted in some way. A real handy device in all sorts of ways, like affecting blowouts on stage maybe? A Godsend for the wide range of interest groups who have a stake in the club circuit and entertainment industry, and society at large really. From trade unions, to business conglomerates, to special interest groups (like religious orgs), to law enforcement and government regulators interested in enforcing certain social and economic codes. Especially relevant because of the wide range of activities that have always been known, or have been speculated to revolve around these venues. From money laundering, to drug activity and other forms of vice allegedly, to inter-racial mingling and trans-cultural, class-free socializing. So that tiny little device inside every little amplifier is really not anything you want to take for granted. Not when it's capable of affecting everything from businesses going under, to stalled shows, to insurance payouts, to maybe even a little riot or two! Once you've congregated a large group together and things don't go their way right? As pretext anyway, although such mob activity would probably have political as well as economic implications/applications (like consequence of one group moving into another's territory). Although even if such things have happened in the past, and remain a fact of life in certain parts, such malicious acts would be impossible to trace when virtually every level of society would have some set of interests to forward or protect, and the only question becomes how far each group is willing to go. More so when the collusion is large scale, across multiple sectors within a market place. from credit companies to importers and dealerships maybe. Then it becomes as easy, or as willy, as sending out just the right piece of equipment to just the right business premises, like a microwave oven with a dodgy transformer that's going to interfere with that opamp remember? One neat little trick that heavy hitters were known for, is singling out individuals from the musician crowd (maybe someone without the proper credentials or affiliations, MOUs between nations) and them blackballing them. I.e. Getting them on stage with a contract and then affecting the kind of blowout I talked about, so that the organizers can lean on the person for compensation. Placing them in debt and forcing them to work without pay, or else offering to have them work off the debt by delivering a parcel or two, with airplane tickets and hotel stay thrown in for free, if you know what I mean. Is that really how societies and market places operate? Ours? You tell me
That made your day didn't it? Now aren't you glad your dad made a giant toilet bowl for you to share your exceptionally unique bowel offerings to the rest of the world
His pocket control of a song is out of this world
One of the most talented and musically refined drummers of this era! Perfect match for Snarky Puppy! Incredible band! Wow! A group of masters!
That perfect transitioning from open-handed playing to crossed is so clean.
I'm a huge fan!! Sput, youre an inspiration. Snarky Puppy Band, you guys are the most creative group of musicians ive ever seen!!
I love the way his ride bounces! >
0:00 - 10:13 is my favourite.

First time discovering this guy. Sweet Jesus he's amazing
3:38 scared the shit out of me haha
amazing, I think him and spanky are some of the best drummers of our generation
So tight, groovy and precise drumming !
My dude ride cymbal is floating ya digg
That ending gets me everytime.
these rythmics are out of control spitting fire!!
This is great! I could watch him play all day!
At the 4:30 mark, the detail and accuracy, amazing!
Effortless. Precision jamming right here.
Effortless. Gotta hit those 16ths, though. WOW. WOW.
Plus, Sput has Forte down pat. Wish we were there.
Flawless Victory!
FATALITY!
Great job, everyone!
Funk man!!! I am gonna practice open-handed drumming thank you for inspire me :)
Good luck. He's left handed.
Groove runs in these veins. Legend
On a whole different level.
Wow. I gotta spend more time practicing. Amazing feel and timing. Love Snarky Puppy.
Fsuholley I know man. So clean but so expressive.
only to spend another 20,000 hours to get about half as good as Sput.
That looked like so much fun !!
That fill @8:50 is the sickest rhythm I've ever heard
killing the pocket AND checking texts/swigging yuengling all at the same time
thought i saw a yuengling label, cant stand it when bands get pissed at me when i wanna drink a beer
Thomas Cordell yo tommmmmm - it's nolan. funky
The Groove is strong with this one.
Truly amazing ! Thank you !
really impressive playing. great pocket
You know the music game screwed up when Travis Barker gets millions of hits and has a fraction of the talent that this cat has.
makstone don't be hating on other drummers man, Travis does Travis and Sput does Sput and theres no one who could do them better than they do themselves
There's a 10" Byzance Extra Dry Splash under there too.
the real question is: did he ever swallow that beer?!
Awesome band.
Does anyone know what he's using for sticks? This music is a sexy funk sundae that melts for ten minutes.
Complete drummer hands down "uncle sput"
I know it felt good when that fan was blowing in his shirt 😂
His playing is so damn tasty!
sput makes insane music sane x
Never heard them but this drummer is fuckin rad. Very awesome stuff
mind-blowing...
that scared the crap out of me haha
Sput! Just stop it already man!! Dude is out of control on dem drums!!!!
Number of ways,
1. the natural depth of the snare
2. a loose batter head
3. loose snare wires, means you get more shell sound.
4. D "All The Above"
Sublime.
@malikgcapers i believe its a xhat so it would be 12" and 14"
That groove was stupid heavy
Boss! 6:23 tho!!! Lol Dope!
BEAST!!!
Is this video sponsored by Meinl or Yuengling? At least I can transcribe that part...
Cymbal description says 18 inch traditional thin crash but that’s def a vintage trash crash on the far right.
boys good.. boys real good
in some ways, this song seems like a pre- What About Me and Lingus mixed together... Some grooves and parts in the overall rhythm really made me think of those two other songs :)
4:43 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
That fill at 8:50 is so funky!
8:06 I died laughing
6:20 lmao beer time!
+colin mitchell I don't think he swallowed it.
You are a boss!
i believe it is a 20" Byzance Traditional Extra Thin Hammered Crash.
correct me anybody if i'm wrong
im super jealous of those hi-hats DDDD:::
too good
That synth solo was disrespectful
No one man should have all that sauce in a solo
And obviously, synth killed the groove
Gênio...
that hi hat is sooooo sensitive and responsive ! 14" Dark ?
looks like a 16" to me
It's a 15" dark top over a 15" Traditional bottom
I can't figure it out either, it looks like it's on a stand, but it's constantly bouncing up and down..maybe it's drum sorcery
lol love the shirt
SPUD SMELLS LIKE FIRE
Sput with short air looks like an old Donovan Mitchell, his playing is ridiculously amazing tho!
How does he keep muting and Unmuting that snare on the right?
Is it me or is his Ride cymbal "Floating"?
How big is that China cymbal by that hi-hat.
GAH! You beat me to it XD
what's he mounting his ride cymbal on? it bounces
How does he achieve that great fat sound on his right snare?
THICK GROOVE!
tight!!!
that guitar tho was delicious and I'm a drummer
What stack is with the trash crash ?
List of cymbals or all gear in general?
supremely subtle sizzzle
Wow
what is the time signature
what is the main crash?
Yessirr
is it a stack?
@6:15 "that girl gotta wait"
Busy busy man
The original drummer of snarky puppy is an open handed.
I wish they'd cut to the other camera angle for the breakdown with the guitars.... smh...
Sput!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i would make a crashburger from those cymbals and eat it |(
Drummer's Perspective
3:39 Lol
@3:39. OMG
