Not to mention, Markle practically has a reputation of copying other people. Please get your facts checked. Besides, even if Catherine was the one who copied Markle, it's clear to me that Catherine wore it better.
@@ellevillamor4454 Nah, Wishful thinking. It us trivial really, but the fact that Kate has tried to emulate MM - in dress - has been an ongoing joke for some time. There are those who noted that she was dressing Diana - ish and even a bit like the queen before MM arrived on the scene, but I don't know. What was obvious, is that being a clothes horse didn't come naturally to her, and she had more of a practical, even masculine approach to attire prior to MMs influence. It is likely,that, initially at least, she was 'advised' what to wear and 'encouraged' to emulate MM, given her lack of an eye - or natural inclination - for such things. However, given that her tendency to follow MM in that regard has been the subject of much humorous observation (with people taking bets on how long it takes her to wear a similar outfit after MM as photographed in it), you wonder why she continues. The most logical suggestion seems to be because everything MM is seen wearing flies off the shelves the following day and retailers have difficulty keeping up with demand. Just look at the fuss made over what MM wore at the Invuctus Games. The fashion press went into overdrive.It has been some time since Kate's attire drew the same degree of enthusiasm. Indeed, there were rumours circulating that a number of designers had expressed their preference that Kate not wear their designs because she does them no favours by doing so. Anyway, it seems that the reason Kate continues to emulate MMs dress, despite the fact that it has hardly gone unnoticed, is because she is hopeful that some of the popularity of what MM wears will be attributed to her.
Of course, matters of dress are little more than a trivial distraction. The two women are so completely unalike in every aspect and it really is substance that matters - character and the contribution one has made - and will be remembered in the long run. What the RF clearly hoped for was that Katie would copy MM in more substantial ways, of course, but it appears that there are some ways in which she has no interest in emulating MM.
@@dragosapina5692 pardon me, but I got lost reading your really long comment. I will do my best to reply to them. Even if Catherine did copy Markle, at least she can actually look good in what she wears and we don't see Catherine cosplaying as her mother-in-law. Diana wore a lot of designs and outfits during her lifetime, so it's understandable if we see Catherine or Markle wearing something similar. However, it's one thing to take inspiration from Princess Diana's outfits and it's another to completely copy the look. I remember seeing a photo of Markle in the exact white buttoned up polo and shorts while she was in australia, even down to the sunglasses that were tucked in. She wore the exact same outfit that Princess Diana wore during her tour of Australia. Markle even copied Princess Diana's pose (with her hands on her waist) and an angry looking face. Not to mention, it's cringe how Markle wore Princess Diana's perfume when going on a date with Harry for the first time. And even if we put that aside, Markle is one of the only people I know of that can wear an overly expensive designer outfit and make it look like trash. They don't flatter her body type and instead they just emphazise Markle's boxy body frame, broad shoulders, and skinny legs. Not to mention, there a lot of times where Markle fails to dress appropriately for the occasions. In the Invictus games, she wore shorts. You don't wear shorts to a formal event. Not to mention, we mostly see Markle in a wrinkled outfit, which doesn't make sense because as someone with money, I am sure she can afford to get them pressed. The reason why Markle gets criticized by the press for her outfits is because she has access to stylists, staff, and designer outfits, so she has no excuse to go out looking like a mess, especially back when she was still a working royal who was representing the royal family. Imagine looking sloppy on your job. As of now, Catherine has been dressing appropriately for the events she attends, hence no one has been criticizing her for her outfits. She may wear outfits that are similar to Princess Diana or Markle, but at least she can look presentable, poise, and modest in them. Not to mention, she reuses them, in comparison to Markle who wears an outfit that costs thousands, that doesn't even look good on her, and she doesn't even reuse them.

Absolutely…..I also find Markle’s outfits abit dated and something a rich older lady would wear. The red trouser suit being a good example. That’s like something an eccentric 60 year old would wear who still dresses from the 1980’s

The red dress comparison-Catherine’s asymmetrical shoulder cut was interesting, unique and memorable. Yes, I would wear either (not that I’d do either justice). But… Meghan’s inability to properly accessorize properly ruins what could have been a fashion win for her. Black oversized purse and nude heels versus Catherine’s matching red shoes and classy clutch in a similar palette.

The thing is, Catherine has such a perfect figure that it's close to impossible for something to not look fabulous on her! Plus, she has impeccable taste and something that either you have it or you don't: class, as well as refinement. Meghan tries to project class and refinement but, poor thing, she just doesn't have them!

The comparison proves that a striped dress is not a striped dress is not a striped dress. Crown Princess Victoria's dress is Stripe Perfection (If you're gonna wear stripes). Meghan's 'dress' looks like a beach towel that (as per usual for Meghan) seems ill-fitting as it looks too tight to be able to walk in. Her calves look as if they're caught in the tightness of the dress making her stride look forced and difficult. The struggle to walk almost gives her a dink-toed appearance. And you're right about the placement of the stripes. She's by no means a large woman, but that white stripe at the hips makes her look like she has saddle bags.

I love everything Catherine wears too. Meghan’s clothes are usually messy and ill fitting; unfortunately, she also has an odd body shape. I suspect she picks the most expensive outfits because she assumes they look the best. I think she would look better if she was the type of person who could take advice. We have heard about her alleged bullying so who would want to give her advice?
Princess Catherine is always the diamond.
Catherine the Princess of Wales is pure elegance, she is so sophisticated and naturally beautiful.
Queen Victoria's Dress is very much different. Looks like Silk and it's flattering. The dress Meghan wore is a stretchy clingy material and it looks like a Maxi dress. The stripes are too large. My 2 cents!

I also liked the mini folds within the striped gown dress. If you look closely they're there and I think that gives it a bit of positive texture and silk material really catches the eye.

The problem is that she doesn't wear what would naturally actually flatter her and make her look so much better, she just copies. Also, since what you wear usually defines one's personality and preferences, her copying others isn't the best move to present herself.
This clearly demonstrates why everyone can benefit by listening to their stylist and then doing the designer the courtesy of attending fittings so they can tailor it perfectly to you

I think in the beginning Catherine was adhering to the dress code quite rigidly, maybe out of respect to the late Queen and maybe because she didn't want to make waves. Now, she is a Queen in waiting, has three kids, and with the Queen having passed, she can relax a little and have more fun with her clothes while still looking polished and professional. I love her style, although as someone with a very different body shape i can't really copy her outfits!

If you look at Catherine's mother, she always dresses elegantly and stylishly. I imagine both Catherine, and her sister, Pippa, learnt style (and manners) from their mother. Both always look appropriate and know what suits them.
Meghan never had a role model for a mother.
That's a very good point......Carol Middleton always looks beautifully turned out and age appropriate without looking stuffy. Doria was gone for 10 years when Nutmeg needed a real mother figure. It's a shame really and the one thing that makes me feel just a little bit of sympathy for Nutmeg.

Megan needs a stylist and she needs to listen to them. She really chooses a lot of things that just aren’t flattering on her structure.
Meghan looked like she was wearing a giant sock that restricted her from moving properly. She looked ridiculously uncomfortable. The other striped dress on Victoria is a tailored dress allowing movement and has the stripes in the right places. Catherine carries her outfits beautifully as she looks comfortable in them and therefore her posture is great. She probably wore those LK Bennet slight platform court shoes to many events because they got her through the day without sore feet!

Meghan definitely has a figure that is more difficult to dress. Instead of hearing solely about the majority of times she's failed, I'd find it very interesting to know just what she could wear/has worn for her figure type that works.

Megan’s black & white dress maximizes her non-existent waist, thus maximizing her boxy torso, and minimizes her already skinny legs. Would have been better as a mini or shorter dress.
Victoria’s dress is black at her waist to minimize. A thin black stripe at the top to highlight the bust and neck, and flows out from her waist, again minimizing her waist - very feminine.
Megan is probably trying to hide her weight gain in the boxy weight suit to the Invictus Games, but, as you said, added at least 20 lbs.
She has horrible legs, very skinny and shapeles.
Kate has a very long torso, zero waist with short legs. At least Meghan actually looks like a woman.

Princess Victoria's dress had structure and fitting to it. Megan looked like a tube sock. The only similarities were the stripes and they were strapless.

This black & white tube sock dress is absolutely horrible! For someone with gnarly toes and bunion plagued feet she shouldn't wear sandals! A plain black pump with those 6 inch heels Megain wears would've been better. The bag she carried was all wrong too. A small black clutch bag would've been much better.

I have always had no problem with Meghan's taste in clothing, but its her execution that fails her. Whether it being the styling, the fit, or not wearing appropriate clothing for the occasion. She can never seem to hit the nail on the head and GET IT RIGHT!

The problem with Meghan’s clothes (besides the fit) is her fabric choice. It doesn’t photograph very well.
No doubt a visit to the loo would have needed a team of Banana peelers to help her roll that frock up.
Catherine looked the epitome of the fantasy princess in her Eurovision clip - she's winsomely beautiful, her gown billowing about her, the sun streaming through the windows, playing the piano within a gorgeous palace chamber.
I live in hope there will be a longer clip of that session shared at some special time in the future. Here's to hoping :)
I think Meghan’s black and white dress was just too long. Take off the lower 2 black and white blocks, and it’s much better. But you’re absolutely right about the placement of the black and white blocks. Reverse them on Meghan’s dress, and it’s also drastically improved.

Megan has spent an entire fortune in many things in a few years yet she didn’t spend in a good stylist. She doesn’t know how to dress for her body type, those beige pants still baffle me, she didn’t even have them tailored, the tank top material didn’t match the event she was dressing up (down?) for, it looked like those tops you wear with jeans on a Sunday. If she wants to create a brand for herself she needs to start from the basics like building a nice wardrobe like Zendaya, Blake Lively, Princess Katherine, Queens Rania or Letizia. She wants so hard to be the it girl but she doesn’t have it.

Comparing the B/W Top Gun dress and the jumpsuit.... the way Catherine's dress sits on her chest is divine. Meghan's is under her armpits so it gives off a wrapped up in a "bath towel" after your shower look.... and the ONLY person who beats Catherine at being bootylicious is Pippa at Catherine's wedding lol. 😂Wow!🎉🎉
The worst Meghan had done is to try to compete with or copy Catherine's & Diana's dress style when her built is opposite theirs! 😂
Let us be honest Catherine can wear absolutely anything as she has height and is super slim whereas MM has a boxy figure which she seems not to recognise but needs to be mindful of this undeniable fact when dressing. 🙄

One of the problems for M is that she never learned to walk like a lady. She is always speed walking whereas Catherine and other Royal ladies do a more refined stroll. She also stands with her feet apart, planted like she needs balance, instead of being graceful. The dance classes should have helped.
Meghan really needs to stop wearing things that are skin tight or that emphasizes her waist. She has a square build and is high waisted. Needs to wear things that lengthen her torso.
5:18 princess Diana wore the green maternity clothes better. If for nothing else: she buttoned up her coat and didn't flick it open constantly to ridiculously emphasize the bump.
The materials are not exactly the same. Diana's coat looks like some softer, more pliable material when I look at the shoulders of it. Meghan's is wool of some kind, coarse, not at all something that looks like it's meant for maternity clothes or a dress to begin with.
23:30 just look at how relaxed Catherine is walking beside William. She walks on her own feet right next to him.
And then look at Meghan's shoulders. Her posture is so bad, it almost always is. And it looks like Harry is dragging her along. Sometimes I think Meghan tries to look like Marilyn Monroe, but she just doesn't.
I used to like Meghan's one shoulder blue dress. I was so glad that her hair looked sleek and smooth. But I hadn't noticed its split. That split is way too high up. And yes, it gives a prom vibe.
I agree with your picks. Meghan thinks she is more stylish, classy and aware of fashion than she really is. Europeans understand custom fit and tailoring much more than most Americans. Meghan needs to dress for her boxy figure and be realistic about her body type.

When Princess Kate and Prince William are seen together, they complement each other in style. Frequently, Meghan and Harry look frumpy, or at least Harry does. In my opinion, it would behoove Meghan to hire someone who could style her, and teach her what works best for her body type. I certainly would if I were to be photographed and plastered on tabloids.

Thanks Brittany, in my opinion I believe that Catherine is more than happy to take style advice & has her dresses fitted. Meghan just doesn’t seem to take any advice, she knows best , her clothes often do not fit her shape well, trousers too long, tops too tight, wrong undergarments, belts right under her bust, just no. This makes even the most amazing dress/outfit look messy & cheap, its the same with shoes and lets not even mention the hair, often totally wrong.

In many of the photos I’ve seen Meghan is hunched over, which spoils the effect of even the nicer clothes that she wears. I’m surprised she doesn’t have better posture considering that she did dance as a girl and supposedly does yoga.

Meghan is a "jack of all trade", a crafty nobody - she thinks her opinion is all that matters yet her taste in clothes was awful!
Catherine’s shoe game has definitely become more interesting in the last few years. There were a couple of lovely ones in her early days, my favourite being pale pink shoes with bows at the ankle worn to an evening event. I think she has also changed up her purse choices. She was really committed to clutches for many years and then (since the pandemic?) she’s branched out to carrying more interesting ones. That could be a fun subject to explore in a video!
I wish somebody would tell Megan that "effortless" hair style actually requires a lot of effort. When Megan's hair is in the low bun with a wisp hanging by the side of her face, she doesn't look effortlessly polished, Megan looks like "I slept through my alarm and rushed out of the bed as I was".

I don't get how someone who spends so much on her clothing. Looks worse than shopping at a 2nd hand store. Which is crazy to say because I have seen people pull second hands make an look like top fashion! (Look at River)
My thought is Meghan insists on wearing skirts/dresses that are too tight. A size larger would be more flattering without all that bunching/lines at the waist. She also refuses to button most of her coats which look sloppy.
YES!! River has exquisite taste and embraces his very pale skin with gorgeous colours and perfect makeup. LOVE looking at his charity shop finds and he's an absolute hoot!!

I think Megan was given "freebies" to merch while she was in the RF even though she wasn't supposed to.
Since she had to give them back, they couldn't be tailored. That's why she never rewears anything.
Put anybody up against Letizia, and they are sure to lose. Her fashion sense is shoulders above all the Royals, with the exception of Crown Princess Mary.

As someone with a boxy, athletic build I've found that dressing is very easy once you accept the beauty of your natural body. I have wide shoulders, muscular arms and flat, rectangular abs. Very long legs. I'm also about 5'7. I tried, like Meghan, to wear the same things that were made for an hourglass figure. I looked like a frumpy football player 😂 The trick is to show off your top half and back with a nice halter top. Dresses with an empire waist work wonders. Also, shorts with a flowy top is a good go to outfit. I don't understand why she continues to dress this horribly when she could look great. She's a pretty woman, but her style is God awful.
I agree that more clothes with an empire style would probably suit her figure best. She could be like Empress Josephine and set a new style rage. I would think that notion would appeal to someone like MM. Why doesn't it?
Crown Princess Victoria's stripes is a proper gown...Meghan's is beach casual/ like an elongated tube top. Remember those?

Ah yes.....the tube top.....from "the decade that taste forgot" collection. This dress is a beach dress at best, at worst, it's a tube sock that is so tight it restricts her stride and looks strained and uncomfortable. Her sandals were just.....wrong....
The dress worn by Victoria is by BCBG. I had the same dress but it was just above the knee. Wish they still sold it. Absolutely love.
The one thing we all have learnt, especially those of us who don't have a slim fiqure, is if we become famous get some fashion advice and listen to the experts!!!

I think the dress is too long on Meghan. She needed it to hit at her calves. And if she paired it with a blazer it would have been better.

Maybe part of the problem is that she wears freebies, rather than choosing/paying for clothes that flatter her & can be tailored & not returned after wearing (or not, in the case of Aquazzura shoes!)? Catherine wears High St, but makes it looks high end & Meghan wears eye-wateringly expensive & makes it look cheap 🤷♀️
I look back at photos of myself when I was younger wearing clothes that didn't do a thing for my body, but I wore them because that's the way they were "meant" to be worn. I've learned with age what looks best on me and what I should stay away from. Meghan is old enough now to have figured out her body and what fashion works for her and doesn't, but she hasn't. My guess is that as a narcissist, in her mind's eye she can wear anything better than anyone. And she even has the benefit of people dressing her but my guess is that she doesn't listen to them. I agree with you on all the descriptions and comparisons here. But I will go a step further and say Diana's green outfit with that green hat was dreadful. In fact, I didn't like much of what she wore at the beginning of her years in the royal family. However, she was only in her 20s then and we can cut her some slack! She was sort of the tail end of the really matronly royal women look, which in later years she was the one to start to change! Also, it was the 80s 🤣and clothes were weird then.
Agreed. I was one of the few who didn't like Diana's wedding dress. Yes, it was 80s "BIG", but that dress had it's own zip code.

You're right! The placement (and, I think, the size of the stripes) makes a huge difference, especially, the white being on the bust in Victoria's dress! Meghan's might have been better if the white was just switched for the black on the bust but the stripes on Meghan's dress are still too wide.
Princess Madeleine's dress is ivory / cream colour while Meghan's is pure white
I don’t intend to be mean here but it just seems that Meghan’s clothes never fit her right. She doesn’t wear her clothes to look good but rather because they are designer and she tries to make it work. 🙏🏻

Well done Britany. Wallis Simpson was photographed in an black and white striped dress that was sleeveless.. Had a similar look to it. Wallis Simpson was thin. If your into the comparison of the Oprah bird crap dress with Wallis dress and the white suit at queens celebration with one that Wallis wore from the same designer you might find this interesting too. Also MM red pants and blouse with bow on the side is strikingly similar to an outfit Wallis Simpson is photographed in. Kind off creepy. Also why does MM tie her belts like that? Do you think a stylest taught her to tie that way. Hate that look. How about MM gold dress and Princess Catherine's gold dress?
While I'm not a fan of Megan, this should have been titled "Megan Sucks", since all it really is... is Megan bashing. It's not really "flattering" for the commentator either.

The red dress - both were nice, but I will give it to Catherine overall for the shoes -- look more well put together. The dark short blue dress looked nice on M. The blue wrapped dress looks messy on M. M look good on the light blue one shoulder gown - compare to many other failed fashion she had. But Catherine just look amazing in the blue gown on piano. Amazing shot! My overall impression of M, she either wore things that are too tight or too big. She needs to buy tape measurement!!
The white suit she wore to the Invictus Games looks like the suit the Talking Heads wear in Burning Down the House video.
Meghan tries to be too sexy and alluring while Catherine’s style is elegant and tailored. With her height and slimness, Catherine can wear many styles. Meghan tries to be trendy which doesn’t always play nice with her height and build. Those big baggy pants with the halter turtle neck looked horrible! It get her a triangle shape with narrow shoulders with larger waist and even bigger hips and legs. I think she tries to dress like Catherine and doesn’t realize that the style for one person doesn’t necessarily make another look good. Jealousy is a terrible thing.
