This does sound like a farewell, not only to the Champions of late, but to the game as a whole. This was the last DLC released for the game, so it was time for Nintendo to say goodbye to it 🥲
@@FrancoDeLuca02 In fact Link humms many memorable Zelda tunes while cooking. Champion's Ballad, Zelda's Lullaby and the series' main theme are some examples.
When I beat Age of Calamity, it didn't have this song in the soundtrack and I felt that it should have. Because now, it should be held as a song not just in rememberance of the fallen champions... but for something more. In a different time, we did the impossible and saved them so that they could live the lives they had stolen from them.
I feel like since it was an "Unfinished song" it wouldn't make sense for it to be in Age of Calamity since Kass finishes it 100 years later. I could be wrong but from what I read Kass finishes it and Age of Calamity takes place before he is born. (I haven't played the DLC's but I did a little research before I made this comment)
The best item in the DLC has to be the picture of the champions And the sweet cutscene of link hanging it I love how if you completed the dlc for botw it appears in your house in totk
I did the whole dlc (champions ballad and nearly all the trial of the sword) and completed champions ballad on my first switch, but I then got a switch oled and sold my old switch so now I have to go through the whole of botw again to get to the dlc and beat it on the oled. I have botw on the oled and did the dlc on it but in master mode so it doesn’t transfer over so you have to do it in normal mode. So I’m waiting a bit to see if they make it transfer over from master mode and I’ll finish it on that. If they don’t I’ll play whole game again Edit: I didn’t transfer over my save data from old switch so I cannot get it back
I took a close up picture of the picture just to hang it in my new house in Tarrey town. I couldn't imagine owning a house in this game without the rest of the gang joining me in some way.
Funny how when many people saw TOTK's teaser they thought it was going to be a weird, twisted, creepy, bleak, sad sequel. I thought and hoped for the same but it turned out BOTW was the bleak and sad one for me personally, with a dash of hope that makes it feel great, if bittersweet by the end despite its story's shortcomings
To me, this song is like reflecting on all sorts of memories in life. Like kinda like the champions and their roles before they were killed. It kinda resembles a strong theme for them showing that they've fought for their life. I remember when I completed the champions balled and I couldn't help but listen to the music for hours. When i graduate from school, I want this to be played! It's so nostalgic but also is kinda to do with the future ahead! I love this so much! (I might cry-)
where could kass have possibly gone in totk. Man I sure hope he pops up in the dlc for tears of the kingdom when it finally comes out... if he does im buying it.
@@thomazplays9305Well, in the lore, he left Hyrule to find more musical inspiration. And when you finish all of Penn’s quests, he goes to where Kass usually used to be, saying that a legendary bard stayed in this very same spot.
This has a similar melody to the Kakariko Village (OOT) / Windfall Island (WW) / Village of the Blue Maiden (FSA) / Overworld (ST) themes from past games
poor things..first,they lost their lives, were trapped in their giant robots for 100 years, all the while being forced to watch it torment their own people AND wait for “hyah” to pull up and save them…i mean, they must’ve been really bored (Mipha never got to propose to her crush and watch Sidon grow, she also almost gave up hope) Luckily, after the game ends, their spirits can finally go to the spirit realm) i bet they’ll need therapy (i don’t think i could’ve coped if i was in that position)
In Master Mode, I heard V1 for the Master Cycle Zero because I skipped, lol. Although, I’m softlocked now… I completed all the plateau DLC shrines and some of the Rito ones via Wrong Warp, so since they’re not base game, I can’t get them now. Not even the obliterator ones, despite keeping the weapon…

@Vincent M. I think it’s to honor them. Think about it, they gave their lives trying to fight for Hyrule, if they were brought back it would be as if they were just a tool. Plus the fact that they would be in a completely different world than what they were.
@@nordyschmordy true but they have done it in other Zelda games. just a sad ending. BOTW’s story was so bleak. Loving TOTK so far haven’t done too much story mostly shrines and exploring

This song sounds like a bittersweet farewell
It actually feels like the song tells a full story on its own, which is surprisingly quite rare even in the video game space.

This is the best song ever thank you so much. Why doesn't Nintendo fully release their Music?
They want you to experience their music only through playing their games.
Nintendo has some pretty tight standards on their stuff, giving their music to the public would make those tight standards a bit tricky to uphold
