  • DHC-6-300 Twin Otter (Vistaliner) / 8Q-MBH
    TMA - Trans Maldivian Airlines / M8 485
Departure: Male Ibrahim Nasir International Seaplane (MLE), Maldives
    Arrival: Kuramathi Island Seaplane, Maldives
    Date: 10th January 2015 / Seat: 1A
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Window view from TMA's sole DHC-6-300 Twin Otter Vistaliner conversion with larger windows built in 1978. Coincidentally I got to fly on it out of over 40 aircraft on a standby ticket from Kuramathi Island to Male International (MLE). We cruised at approx. 1000 ft and 130 kts and the flying time was just over 20 mins.

Hi, sorry for my late reply. It is a Canon SX700 HS. have to say I am not too happy with it though. The audio stalls quite quickly (it can't handle the bass of an UH-1 heli or An-12 for example). But photos are ok and the general HD video quality is also ok. Now thinking of buying a proper video camera.

TMA? Tma float planes are in yellow and blue.
This was one of a (Red and White) Maldives Air Taxi Float plane.

No, MAT merged into TMA in 2013. This flight was recorded in 2015.

Loran Maldivian Air Taxi (MAT) was a domestic carrier in the Maldives and was one of the largest seaplane operators in the world, operating over 500 flights a week during the peak tourist season. Beginning in November 1993 with two aircraft, MAT grew in direct response to the opening of newly developed resorts that require seaplane transport services for their guests.
In 2013, the American equity fund Blackstone Group announced that they were acquiring both MAT and rival company Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA).[1] A merger was brought underway and a new company was founded, retaining the Trans Maldivian Airways name, and the colours of MAT. TMA now operates 44 Twin Otters including 3 brand new 400 series.
      Got it thanks Homie.
