My 9 year old daughter saw me playing ATS and asked if she could try. I made her a profile and showed her the very basics and let her play with it. It was hilarious listening to her commentary. She was doing great until she jackknifed it on an on ramp on her second job. Good times with the family.

Shame, this was on at 4:46 am here in the UK, I missed it. At least I caught the LSPDFR live, which was my first ever live stream and at 9 pm! Great work, Jeff, it's great to have some videos over the weekend. Also, LSPDFR comes on a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday for me, probably because of my location.

Nicole drives better than me in American Truck Simulator and that's coming from someone who's played ATS since its release and has played Euro Truck Simulator 2 for a year and a half. I use mouse steering, which sounds hard but really isn't once you get used to it. It also really helps that my mouse has two buttons on it which I use for the turn signals. I actually shift manually too, I use Z to downshift and X to upshift. Luckily I'm right handed and those are the most convenient keys. I can drive decently with the arrow keys in games like Assetto Corsa and BeamNG.Drive but it is hard in ATS (and ETS2) since the steering of the trucks is so slow compared to a car.
Hey. I know you love trolling, but sometimes it's just stupid to pointlessly troll. Just because I said I use mouse steering doesn't automatically mean that I need a wheel *right this second*. I never said I wanted anyone to buy me a wheel. I actually plan on getting a G29 soon. I never said "i need a weel sum1 plz get wun fore mee". What I said was Nicole drives better than me even though she has less experience than me with driving simulators (not meant as an insult), as she said in the video. She said she plays more adventure-ish and other games. Jeff is the driving and simulator one mostly.

Hey Jeff, don’t know if you read messages on older videos like this one. If you do, I enjoyed watching Nicole play this game. She did very good, and she has like 1000 times more experience playing this game than I do (*cough* 10 seconds), so congratulations to her!

Also, to answer Nicole's question of why she and her sister had to hide in the back with the curtains drawn when they pulled into the weigh station, reason is with only two seats in the truck, only two people are allowed in the truck. Her dad had three, himself included, of course, and if they were to see that at the weigh station, he would have been in some serious trouble. Don't know what the age limit since that ultimately depends on the company. I know with my company, you have to be at least 10 years old, but can't be more than 70 years old to ride along in the truck. There is paperwork involved with carrying other people for insurance purposes, so DOT may look for that also.

1:13:24 i was falling asleep while playing one night and went headed off the road, scraped the concrete barrier, and flipped my truck and trailer after flipping end over end. the wheels were still spinning while in the air. that was the night i would have died if it were real lol.

Great video Jeff, really liked this one.
Trust me, I can get pretty picky when it comes to lining up the trailer. If it's even 2 inches off or 4 degrees off center, I'll pull up and try again. As for starting up on a hill, the proper procedure, assuming American Truck Simulator can simulate the clutch properly, is to hold down the brakes, slowly release the clutch, and when you feel the truck pull, get off the brakes.
+Captain Kevin that is what I do, however do you use trailer brakes or parking?
Neither, I'm holding down the brakes hard with my foot. Once I feel the truck pull, I'll get my foot off the brakes and hit the accelerator.
Thing is if you're using either the parking brakes or the trailer brakes, when you release the brakes, you'd have to wait for the air to pass through the system before you'd be able to get rolling. That takes time.

Watching these videos made me download American truck simulator on my wife's computer. She laughed because I am a professional otr driver and she was like you drive for weeks and then come home and drive on the computer lol. My question is it only has peterbilts and kenworth, what do I need to do to get freightliner. Those are my favorite trucks.

LMAO I don't feel so bad now about running out of gas and backtracking 3 times, jack-knifing and hitting a bus and a car. In this game you can hit a run but you have to finish a job or it sits there waiting for you, I had to be creative trying to turn a really long trailer in the space a VW bus would have problems. That was not fun but still I can (grin).
