Hi! First of, nice reaction! To answer your question, Hatsune Miku is a digital voicebank, not an A.I. she's a voice program artist use for vocals for their music. If you're thinking of getting more into Vocaloid, there's tons of playlists on TH-cam you can find! I'd also personally recommend the Project DIVA games if you're into rhythm games. There's also the Unofficial Hatsune Mix, which is a manga that depicts Miku and the other vocaloids in many different ways. Its an amazing trip!

I will warn you though, Miku doesn’t exactly have a “canon” personality, her persona can change based on the preference of the song writer or the song that she is singing. That means she can go from sweet and adorable (popipo) to rude and needy (world is mine) to UTTERLY TRAUMATED (Aishite) to somber and calm (picon’s “reborn”) and even an unpredictable genre (kara kara no kara or matryoshka). And that’s only the tip of the iceberg, there’s tons more Miku’s out there. The point I’m trying to make is, don’t expect Miku to be cute and adorable for every song the features her, consider her an actor playing a different role everytime.
The Beauty of Miku Hatsune is she is a character created and developed by the fans for the fans. The company that owns the software lets fans make music with her voice and if the songs get popular enough the people who make the songs can make money from the songs featured in concerts and video games and more. So while her character is an AI Android she is actually a software program anyone can get and make music with along with the other vocaloids.

Further explanation is that you reacted to bacterial contamination years ago which featured Calne ca, who is a "fanloid" based of miku, though I'm not sure if miku herself sings the song cuz I'm always so traumatised just hearing the song title, let alone seeing Calne ca (also a fanloid is already self explanatory, it's a fanmade "vocaloid" that is often either inspired or almost identical to an already existing actual vocaloid.)
Such a fun cool song and a fantastic intro song to Miku. No AI honestly miku is probably the most "human" pop star in the world. The amount of people to make this is incredible.

It’s not AI. It’s a voice synthesizer that someone has to manually input sounds to make her sing and how she sings it. Basically an instrument.
