Almost 14 years later and this masterpiece is finally about to reach 1 million views. I don't care if I have to listen to it 1000 times, it will reach 1 mill.
@@_jajajaja_ They have a lot of great songs. They've been one of my favorite bands for over 20 years. Their live album has a great version of this song and the whole album is amazing. I'm sure you've listened to it by now.
Lucky you. Their catalog is giant. My favorites are the first 4 albums. Very sad though if you listen while thinking of their list child. -im living all alone, with a bag of burned bones, and I don't even know if you can hear me, cause I'm only half a man without you, my friend-
Dude..., yes, God, it's been almost one year since I first heard this song and it still makes me want to cry every time I hear it. God what a beautiful song.
Just a post to bring this up the algorithm. This is such a beautiful band, song, and performance. Many years after hearing this for the first time, this is still a favourite
This whole album is in honor of the Lead singers son. His son died six years ago, after his sons death, he left for isolation writing hundreds of songs. The albums name is Meaning of 8. On the date of release the son would be 8 years old. Also track 7 "Your 8th Birthday" is about his son, the corus is simply his sons name Kaiden. And on track 8 its a song about death "dance for the Dead". If you enjoyed this give it a thumbs up
I can feel the power in this song. It's so easy to imagine one's self in one of their concerts, surrounded by people with the same mentality and emotions, all reciting the lyrics with the band.
They sang this song at a memorial for 3 young sisters that lives were taking way too soon in WI. This is why I love this band. They have compassion, they understand loss, and they have HOPE.
My husband asked me to marry him to this song. We listen to many different types of music. One day we were traveling early in our relationship, and I recognized the singers voice. I didn't know anyone else who knew cloud cult. I said, "is this cloud cult?!" he was like WAIT you know who they are! 5 years later he asked me to marry him to this song. We also had chemicals collide worked into the day!
There's a sadness to the violinist/singer. I know this song is about a loss. I pray for whoever is hurting. Saw you in indy a few summers ago with my 2 daughters. Had a great time. A memorable time. Thank you
Cloud Cult, you are so amazing and inspiring in the most indiscribable ways. Your music has shaped so much the person I am today and though your pain will never fully be my pain your happiness is mine! Your incredible success is so heart warming, keep up the amazing music an lyrics and I will NEVER stop listening. There is so much love in this universe and I feel it in every song you give. Thank you thank you thank you.
Friggen E-surance commercial 13/14 years ago led me to Cloud Cult with “Lucky Today”, their songs still move me like the first time I heard. And yes, FINALLY a million views. Fuck it, imma share this right now.
I have watched this 5 times, and can't belive the clarity in both sound and emotion. Thank TheSneeze for the plug, I have blogged about you guys and will be downloading the album... Chris at Rich Full Life dot Ca
Since finding this video about a year ago, this particular version of the song, I listen to this at least twice a week. Wish I could find this in MP3 format... I'd put it in my regular rotation of songs.
Talent... Thats about all I can say, they have talent, flat up talent. Good band, good range in instrumental terms and vocal. Love the contrast of the guy on the guitars voice and the girl on the violin.

It's one of the first videos I ever favorited. Best wishes.
My 1st comment here was 15y ago - and to this day I keep returning to this song whenever I’m in need of beauty.
Only just discovered this band in 2024, and this is quickly becoming one of my favourite songs ever
Check out the entire album “Love”. One of their best. And the song “You were born.” Be well.
@@GatsbyMyself I'm slowly working my way through their catalogue. Happy Hippo album is amazing. Transistor radio...

Who is here in 2022? One of my absolute favorites.
2024. Love CC since the early 2000s and still listen to them to this day. Their last album a few years ago is amazing.
This song has blasted me to another level of feeling/being since I first heard it six years ago. Thank you for being who you are.
"Thank you for being who you are." More people should hear this. Good one.
Have another listen and get blasted back 12 years! Love the climactic finish!

There are some serious hippie dippie sappy sods in the Cloud Cult Universe man whoooweee! Lol!
I have never been able to find the words to describe the feeling this song invokes. Flawless.
Maybe try a Dictionary?

We saw them in Wisconsin this summer & they opened with this song. Instant tears in my eyes, such an emotional song. Love this band!

This song straight up gives me chills.

not underrated- unnoticed. no one who actually hears them doesn't like them.
My favorite
This is my favorite song by these guys, Brilliant lyrics, and that drummer and the violinist are freaking amazing.
There's a sadness to the violinist/singer. I know this song is about a loss. I pray for whoever is hurting. Saw you in indy a few summers ago with my 2 daughters. Had a great time. A memorable time. Thank you
The lead singer and his wife (the violinist) lost their baby. Its a sad story, and a recurring theme in their earlier music.
This version has such better harmonies than the album version...I wish this was the arrangement on the album...
Such a great song. Cloud Cult deserve a greater following.
That is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my life.
Like seriously, #2 or #3.

I love the fact that most of Cloud Cult's songs are so beautiful

I love this. It has class. Way to go guys!
I think many of the "imperfections" in this version fit very well with the mood of the song.
