The mental aspect of competition can’t be overstated. I had a lot of success winning low level competitions with lots of competitors. I had no problem winning at the start but once you became known as the guy to beat and people started expecting you to win, it stopped being fun. Fear of failure is a bigger obstacle than having enough confidence to win. People that talk about learning how to lose know what I mean. The interesting thing is many would have to opposite mental problems in that the chance at a possible victory will make them nervous. Interesting subject for certain! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you Sir! Like you said... Plenty of people will shoot 100% on training but in competition (even on local level) they fail while those who shot 90% win. Competition for some brings positive adrenaline which boost them up and for some negative adrenaline which slows them down. For some: "Whoa! Bring them on!", and for some: "Omg... What if I miss?!" - and of corse she/he miss!
If you start at the bottom of the “Shotgun Coaching Videos” playlist and work up from there you will get a “rough” guide on many of the fundamentals you need to understand and master. Series 1 and 2 were largely generic technical instructional videos
Thanks Russel. I have been learning alot from your videos. My DTL shooting has improved those few extra targets I feel I need to be competitive. I will start competition sometime next year.

I'm a long way from being good at trap but I practice what I watch here and it certainly helps. Thankyou
I love your videos! Are your instructional series available for purchase? Would love to go through them in detail at home.
