This is Shibasaki, your watercolor instructor. Today we are going to examine the most famous crayon in Japan, the Pentel crayon. I would like to introduce you to a crayon that every Japanese person has been familiar with at one time or another, but which has recently undergone a major evolution.

小学校の時とかでクレヨンのカスが出た時、何も考えず消しカスみたいに手で払ってしまって、せっかく描いた絵の上に色がついて汚れちゃって台無しになること何回もあったから カスが出ないってすごくありがたいと思う！！！
先生の目はこんなに綺麗なものを映してるんだなぁー。私にはそこまで綺麗な貝殻に見えるかな？
クレヨンの知識が小学校で止まっているので、最新のクレヨンに驚きました！
それでいてラベルイラストはは昔のままで、メーカーさんの探究心とこだわりを感じます
こんな美術の先生、中学にいたなぁ。またこういう先生に習いたいな。
うわあすごい…クレヨンでこんな精巧に描けるんですね…色もとても綺麗です
幼い頃の記憶ではクレヨンは少し硬くて描きにくい…って思ってたのですがそうでは無いと言うことを学ばせていただきました！
先生の技術力あっての…だとは理解していますが久々に絵を描いてみたいと思います！

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the translator who writes the English captions? I found the translation of “Pentel-san” to “Time-honored Pentel” very endearing and thoughtful. Properly bringing the Japanese concept to English, in my opinion. Thank you, person who writes the English captions for making these beautiful videos accessible to English speakers!!!
That's the so call 'Wabi Sabi' emotional expression in Japan.
This expression can be well understood if you search this word even from this You Tube.

Pentel huh, its quite a well-known brand even here. i remember using a pentel oil pastel like this back then its pretty nice and affordable. pops cant point out much of pentel crayon's shortcomings, looks like pops is a man of culture as well. im really impressed that pops managed to draw the conch shell without using a sketch!
the final piece looks amazing! cant believe its made from a simple crayon.

Thank you for this entertaining video, and for introducing this Pentel Crayon. The colours are very vivid, I thought that these are oil pastels. But after searching Amazon Japan, this set is indeed crayons, not oil pastels which packed in yellow boxes. Your art is always magnificent no matter how simple the object is, Shibasaki-sensei

Thank you for that. I was trying to figure that out myself. I had finally decided they must be oils haha oops. I've never seen a regular crayon do that before, just shows what talent does with cheap supplies.
I'm amazed by how amazing these crayons are despite them costing only around $6. I adore it when a brand goes all its way with the quality of its product even if its intended target demographic are small children. Also, the conch drawing is so beautiful.

キラキラした光を感じる。ゴツゴツした貝の質感が伝わってくる。しばさきさんの絵は、見てると驚きを頂いてます。本当にすごい。
サクラクレヨンはベトナム製でぺんてるの図工クレヨンは国産でした。個人的にはぺんてるのもののほうがなめらかな書き心地に感じました。でもやっぱり、描く方の腕前凄かったら百均のクレヨンでもぺんてるのクレヨンでもとても絵がきれいです。
私の時代（2，30年前）よりも進化してる気がする

パッケージに括られていたゴム紐は、多分しまっておく時にクレヨンの蓋が外れないようにするものだと思います！
保育園の時、クレヨンを開けたら裏側にゴムをして使っていました！

Would love to see a colored pencil picture by you. Your talent is incredible. And artist colored pencils are just oil paint in a pencil. I use odorless mineral spirits to blend more. Holbein makes them there in Japan. Take care

数年前購入したのですが、いまいちどう描いたらいいのか、勇気が出ずにずっとしまってあるのです。水彩は描いたことあるのですが、パステル画などはやったことないです。
お願いします。
