I remember planning on naming my comic “Render Creek” Because that’s where the characters live, a place where monsters just generally attack, and then I looked it up, and it was also a place in Kentucky, and I was like “Let’s hope Kentucky doesn’t start making Kentucky Fried Griffin now”
The name for my comic came from a bad portmanteau of two probably incorrectly translated Japanese words. Funnily enough, it created a slightly misspelled version of an existing Japanese word that was incredibly relevant to the subject matter of the comic. I like when things work out
I have 2 webcomics that I already named. Transcendents: Superhero type, but I got inspired by Promare, UnOrdinary, and The Last Airbender with a few from a game I play, Love Nikki. Contemporary Tales: Fairy tales and legends that are modernized to the extent that there are current modern-day problems and solutions with no magic at all.
I never had the idea of googling the name of my comic to see if it already existed and i just did and needless to say im _really_ shocked that theres actually another webcomic named "A Frog Among Fairies" XD I dont have the heart to change the name of my comic though so i guess im keeping it, unless its a super bad idea djdjjsjsjs
Well, a story for a comic that I recently started drawing on had a fairly obvious title to me. Simpler Times. It's not anything too unique, but it's very strongly connected to the theme and feel of the story. The thing is, I started this comic solely to practice and improve my art for two other stories that I've been working on for over a year, and neither of them have titles. It's unfortunate, I can't think of titles that make any sense for the stories that are most important to me.
When you've finally settled on a title for your comic and this comes up. But alas, it will still be called "Three's a Crowd" cause it's a love triangle 🤷
Puns and alliteration are also your friends. I have a WIP comic called Receding Tides; a group of the main chara's species is called a Tide and the story is about the species becoming rarer, a change in the world's dynamic. Also it takes place in and around the ocean. The fan-comic I'm currently working on is for a series that has an established naming convention for side stories. Usually (character name)+a noun describing what they're going through in that story. Eg; Redtail's Debt which is about his debt to a clanmate that begins to control his life. In my story Marbledhaze's Madness, it's about the protag, Marbledhaze, growing to become a morally corrupt healer. While he doesn't exactly "go crazy", it's more about how illogical and law-defying his actions become. In the case of Marbledhaze's Madness, it has alliteration. M and M. It's fun to say and easy to remember.
I think it'd be interesting to share the name of a webcomic I'm working on that is going to come out some time soon. It's called Overpressure, and is a superhero backstory kind of story that involves a lot about radiation containment and an explosion, and as far as I have found with research, the word Overpressure has two meanings: one refers to a shockwave that comes out of an explosion, and the other is another word for Positive Pressure, a method used in stuff like hazmat suits or containment stuff where they make one side have higher air pressure so stuff from the lower pressure side can't get to the higher pressure side. So without actually spoiling it, I won't be explaining further for now, but that's my reasoning for the title. :)
I have a title in mind that I like for my comic project, but just now I tried googling the title in general to see what results I would get, and they weren't good (mainly about a certain, powerful group during WWII). I may need to rethink my title now, so this is a good exercise to keep in mind.
This really helps, I have a comic on Webtoon Canvas called, "Benevolence with Revenge" it's not the greatest name and I wanna rename it... the comic sucks but oh well!
I'm going to name my comic "Los Impares" because its short for the name of the club that the main characters of the series owns (Which is "Los Experimentadores Impares", which is Spanish for "The Odd Experimenters")
I used to be decent at coming up with at least placeholder names but now I just refer to every story by the names or initials of the main characters until I find a good title. My current project is just ZD
My webcomic is called Inscrutable; it's about four supernatural beings trying to live normal lives and ending up in supernatural situations. My mom's currently helping a friend with drawing panels for his comic, First Catch; it has vampires, werewolves, and witches tracking down and killing pedophiles

In a world where the royal family rules over, only members of the royal blood have extraordinary powers, which is why they are the rulers, however after a 406 year feud between the Queen and her younger sister, the queen falls ill and her sister decides to call upon a war, to over throw the planet, however the inhabitants are not that willing to lose their queen or accept the corrupt sister as the new one, havoc and destruction reaches upon the planet, however three soldiers in special armed force who quickly rose to high ranks for a reason promise the queen to never let anything happen to her or her kingdom, and lead their forces to war against the queens sister to reclaim the conquered areas, however the main characters struggle with an internal conflict, although strong on the outside, the three have no idea about their own feelings and don’t how to accept their own feelings. The ending if you get attached to the characters is well pretty sad, and if I do get an audience and actually publish these I’m guaranteed to have people triggered and come at me. Heart around my neck refers to before the final battle which decides whether they’ll win the war or not, the two boy main characters tell the girl how they are tired of feeling like this and it’s ok if she chooses one over the other, it’ll hurt but it hurts if you reject us both, so they both leave a necklace and tell her to wear the one from who she likes more, and walk away, and she eventually realizes that she has to and chooses, and reveals what she chose in the end.
that's a great subvert of expectations tho- idk about u but i can't think of a thing in the horror genre using the word 'delightful' specifically, certainly there are synonyms used to subvert expectations but it seems pretty solid to me!!
This was so helpful! I have a story that I want to make into a webcomic/animation one day about five alien girls who come down to Earth for studies and findings. They get captured and experimented on by NASA scientists and are basically treated like animals. The son of one of the scientists feel sorry for the girls and offers to let the girls live with them like his sisters. I pretty much want this to be a sci-fi/comedy/slice of life with the twists of aliens. This video actually helped out a lot but it still may take me a few weeks to come up with a good title. I'd love suggestions in the replies, to anyone who reads this.
I named my webcomic nightcrow, it was originally a beta name but I got attached and it makes sense. night because most of the story takes place at night, crow because one of the characters is nicknamed crow by the main character, the main character has an object that allows them to grow wings like a crows, and crows are seen *a lot*. it was searchable and snappy so while it dosent quite suit the grand scheme of the story im happy
I have a manuscript for about 5 years of material for a webcomic. I would love to have it distributed by a real publisher after a few years of independent publishing. I am conflicted with the idea of getting a freelance editor to comb through it and help me make sure its good to go. This isn't my first comic, but its the first that I'm going to publish online so I feel like it might be worth the investment to really craft the story with a second pair of professional eyes. What are your thoughts?
@@lunasperidot8760 Haha it is! Originally I wanted to go the traditional publishing route, and I was advised to finish the book if I was going to try and get an agent for my first project. I guess its pretty common in the publishing biz. But I read a book last summer called Nimona that was a web-comic that got published and won tons of awards. It made me think I could just self-publish. So I have a finished book... haha. I've seen lots of web comics that work with editors, but I was wondering what this community thought of it. Pros and cons?
nowadays I feel that webcomics have more benefits than traditional, first of all with webcomics you can engage with your readers and know the community behind which is much important, you can have loyal fans from there! also I read that Webtoons and Crunchyroll will have a contract together for future animation proyects of western webcomics, isn't that great? I think it's like a dream ,hope you do well!!

@@r8xcx I forgot I commented this but it was eventually called ‘To Have Lived a Hundred Lifetimes’ (please don’t steal I spent a whole 2 hours coming up with that-)
I kept the prototype name for my webcomic. I like it, but the problem is that the name is shared with a not-so-good poem.... It's The Wide Ocean. I should've done more thought to this.
I am going to make my like something that makes me feel alone and sad but have as some ligth and is also kinda happy like how. on little cat feet and 11th hour from oneshot make me feel
Heck I'm so late on this update 😔 I wish I could have seen this sooner. I'm HORRIBLE with naming things, and one of my biggest regrets is naming my comic a huge spoiler. good job past me
Have you tried just taking a word relating to your comic and then Translating it into Latin? Most of Latin sounds cool and most people won't bother to translate it or notice it's latin
So is "Beyond the Horizon" okay or is it too long? Edit: There's a lot of books named that apparently...😅 The ones I saw seemed to be about war and hardship while mine is adventure so... Idk. I also wanted to name a comic "Spirits" but it's also been used by a couple of other comics.. I might use "Spirit Ties" since it's still kinda unique..
My comic is literally just a basic plot and the main character right now, but the thing that's stopping me from progressing is literally just the world and art itself. I have no idea what to do about it because I'm a lousy artist and I have no idea how I want the world to be constructed.
I named mine Arcana Quest because the main characters are all magic users of different elements and they are searching for the main villain. Its on Webtoon. Please read it.
So the comic I’m making is about a continuation of a 2000s show called Combo Niños. And the name has a ring to it yes, but how do you differentiate it from the original show. I’ve seen other comics that make this “fan continuation” trope and tend to use a whole new name. (Probably for marketing). Like “Five years later” or just use the original title and add “Fan Manga” or something. There’s no rules. So what I’m thinking of doing, and how the story I made is divided in distinct parts. To change the title with each volume but to maintain the first part consistent. Similar to what the Hunger games did with their books.
I’m working on a comic about a witch who was cursed and can’t do magic, she meets a goblin who steals their quilt leading them on adventures with all the fey, spirits, and sirens who she meets by her lighthouse home, and has to learn wild magic in order to battle and befriend the cryptids she meets, I was thinking of naming it “Cryptic” is that a good name?
I like it but just as the word 'cryptic' it in of itself seems too cryptic to use on it's own XD that's just my personal opinion though as a random person on the internet and you can do with this comment as you will XD
I’m pretty good at naming so if anyone needs help I might be able to however I tend to do physical comic so although they are memorible it might be something that is similar to a saying or something else for example the comic I work on is a d&d style comedy adventure in which the main characters are faceless stick figures kinda similar to xkcd (was a personal challenge) and it’s called Sticks & Stones ,so ya......
My comic is NickReaper73’s Odd Game!! For short just call it NOG. The reason why I call it Odd Game because I created a Dimension which is a game-world and in there there’s nothing but very weird stuff. And my name is Nick, but you will find the reason why I’m called NickReaper73. :my comic will be uploaded in my TH-cam or my Instagram:
I was thinking of naming it "Sparks" or "Spark" but I'm worried about it being unsearchable? (although I guess people could look up "Sparks comic" or smt?) edit: NOOOO THERES ALREADY ANOTHER COMIC NAMED SPARKS
i don’t know whether to call my comic expiration date or run since it’s a zombie apocalypse webtoon and i don’t want the name to sound basic and expiration date has more meaning to it but run make more sense since my characters are on the run
I think expiration date is a great name for a zombie apocalypse webtoon!! it can be like a play on words for how zombies are just dead people past their expiration date that shouldn't be reanimated XD also im sure there's food shortages and maybe foods reaching their expiration dates due to maybe the electricity of the city shutting down to it being an apocalypse but that's just a side tangent XD
My comic I just finished is called Kawaii Zombie. Struggling on my space opera comic name... Thinking “Boundless” “Space Punk Super!” or “Space Descenders”...? I don’t know anyone have ideas
would cataclysm be too weird of a word? im planning on calling my comic "Blue Cataclysm" and the name really fits the story/themes or whatever but im afraid people might struggle to spell it
Got the perfect name for my story with so much meaning... and turns out theres a star trek series with the name... dont get me wrong, the subject matter is very common, but i hate that the perfect name is already taken, especially by something so popular
I find choosing a name is the easiest part. When I know what direction the story takes there comes a moment when I have an idea what the name should be...
My comics name is the trip to the big place am making it at midnight and am not tried I was gonna name it the Martinez family's trip but my mom picked the trip to the big place am making with my hand in irk R.I.P my hands-
Oh man I'm so mad i have a super cool name for my comic but there is another web comic with the same name but it has only 3 parts and the last update was 3 years ago c:
Idk if this'll help, but I dont really name my comics, I just give them some random folder name where I store the source files and it just ends up sticking for some reason. I remember I stored my porn comic in a folder called "goona have some fun" and eventually the name stuck, typo and all lol. Searchability be damned, its not like im gonna post it or anyones gonna see it anyways.
Just take a thing or two from Shonen "Naruto" is a about a ninja named Naruto "One peace" is about a adventure to find one peace "my hero academia" is about heros in a academia It's really simple

Most of Latin sounds cool and most people won't bother to translate it or notice it's latin
back watching Moe eof this channels videos! I've finally started a comic now that I have decent art skills haha. need to work on my writing though
I don't know what your comic is about but how about "Spirit's Horizon"? Or just Spirit Horizon.
@@crystab3244 I was actually referring to two different comic ideas I have but that sounds really cool, thanks!
I honestly just decided to name mine after the main character lmao
My comic is literally just a basic plot and the main character right now, but the thing that's stopping me from progressing is literally just the world and art itself. I have no idea what to do about it because I'm a lousy artist and I have no idea how I want the world to be constructed.
I named mine Arcana Quest because the main characters are all magic users of different elements and they are searching for the main villain. Its on Webtoon. Please read it.
4:00 who doesn’t want a Batman comic 😂
Anonime, Anonymous theme and catchy!
There better not be a place called port sunbriar irl or I'll die on the floor
This helps! Ty!
Im currently looking into naming mine after a flower that would represent the main character? i think that could be cool...
Great video :)
I have planned the title will be the implied precursor to the events occurring yet wont be mentioned. It wont even be understood by many
I’m working on a comic about a witch who was cursed and can’t do magic, she meets a goblin who steals their quilt leading them on adventures with all the fey, spirits, and sirens who she meets by her lighthouse home, and has to learn wild magic in order to battle and befriend the cryptids she meets, I was thinking of naming it “Cryptic” is that a good name?
I like it but just as the word 'cryptic' it in of itself seems too cryptic to use on it's own XD that's just my personal opinion though as a random person on the internet and you can do with this comment as you will XD
It's hard to think of a name!! :')
Would you think "The Shade" Is a good name for a comic? I've used it since the start, and it relates to one of the species within the comic itself
No too vague. It’s like saying The Chair. Very forgettable
I wanted to name my comic Daughters of Fire but there's a book with this name and I have no other idea .....
Creating one rn, would ouroboros be too much for a name?
My comic is NickReaper73’s Odd Game!! For short just call it NOG.
The reason why I call it Odd Game because I created a Dimension which is a game-world and in there there’s nothing but very weird stuff.
And my name is Nick, but you will find the reason why I’m called NickReaper73.
:my comic will be uploaded in my TH-cam or my Instagram:
I was thinking of naming it "Sparks" or "Spark" but I'm worried about it being unsearchable? (although I guess people could look up "Sparks comic" or smt?)
edit: NOOOO THERES ALREADY ANOTHER COMIC NAMED SPARKS
The name I want to give my webtoon is "Dear diary, I'm dead" but I think that name is a bit boring, idk
i don’t know whether to call my comic expiration date or run since it’s a zombie apocalypse webtoon and i don’t want the name to sound basic and expiration date has more meaning to it but run make more sense since my characters are on the run
I was gonna name mine ghostly love but then I searched it up and went ✨no✨
I kinda just came up with a name when I’m thinking about the concept
My comic I just finished is called Kawaii Zombie.
Struggling on my space opera comic name... Thinking “Boundless” “Space Punk Super!” or “Space Descenders”...? I don’t know anyone have ideas
Space opera? Sounds cool.
How about, Aria of the Galaxy?
@@cybergalacticnova That's a really good one! Thank you so much
@@gratuitousthespian9767 No problem!
Came up with a name but someone already has a Webtoon with the same name 😮💨
i'm going with "catbox"
i wanted to name my comic croak but someone already did it so now i have no name 😔🧍🏽♀️
i named my comic (don't) bite because one of the mcs is a vampire and the other is his exasperated boyfriend and i thought it'd sound funny.
would cataclysm be too weird of a word? im planning on calling my comic "Blue Cataclysm" and the name really fits the story/themes or whatever but im afraid people might struggle to spell it
Got the perfect name for my story with so much meaning... and turns out theres a star trek series with the name... dont get me wrong, the subject matter is very common, but i hate that the perfect name is already taken, especially by something so popular
So what the *_H E C K_*
I named my comic Delta since it follows a futuristic military squadron, Delta Kappa.
i always have trouble with naming the story, I usually have codenames for them lol
So I named my comic sunfall... And only now checked it for searchability. Oh hell.
i just searched up "the magpie comic" and i found ur comic, so...
I find choosing a name is the easiest part. When I know what direction the story takes there comes a moment when I have an idea what the name should be...
im planning to make my comics name "fall in love on a boy who love's bl's" LIKE WTF I THINK I GOT BRAIN DAMAGE :-(
Ok but how do you design the logo for it? Lol
I havent been able to decide whether to pick A' or Aprime. 😂
My comic is going be about lesbians
Instagram is asexual.comics mood
would love to read that
Idk if i should name my comic “Ottos Bot” or “Bobby Bot”
Would Mrs. Sweeties academy be good?
That is a really cute name, I like it.
I named my comic cicatrize beacuse it wasn't already a webcomic name lol
My comics name is the trip to the big place am making it at midnight and am not tried I was gonna name it the Martinez family's trip but my mom picked the trip to the big place am making with my hand in irk R.I.P my hands-
not sure if you have a video about this but, What do you know about promoting?
Oh man I'm so mad i have a super cool name for my comic but there is another web comic with the same name but it has only 3 parts and the last update was 3 years ago c:
at this point just go for it this other comic doesn't seem like it's gonna pop off anytime soon XD
ODD-yssey
Idk if this'll help, but I dont really name my comics, I just give them some random folder name where I store the source files and it just ends up sticking for some reason. I remember I stored my porn comic in a folder called "goona have some fun" and eventually the name stuck, typo and all lol. Searchability be damned, its not like im gonna post it or anyones gonna see it anyways.
Just take a thing or two from Shonen "Naruto" is a about a ninja named Naruto "One peace" is about a adventure to find one peace "my hero academia" is about heros in a academia It's really simple
