MGB GT Distributor and Coil - Lessons in electronic igntion

In this episode I manage to fry $250 worth of new distributor and coil due to a mismatch of the Ohms between the two and accidentally leaving my ignition on for an extend period of time without the car running.

Some keep a points based distributor as a backup. Taking the distributor out should be easy. Just loosen the clamp and it should just pull out. When you put it back in and get it timed properly, just put a dab of paint on the clamp and dizzy. Nice looking MG BTW.

Why don't you mount the coil right side up???
