Glad to find your video. I started having an issue with my 2014 Laramie with 100K miles , after I loaded it with a pallet of LVT. Apparently I went over the limit, and it started acting up. The reset kinda fixed it after it was stuck on entry/exit. But sometimes while on the turnpike I sense it gets bumpy, and when I exit it stucks on aero, and bumps a lot. Sometimes it fixes itself quick, others it takes longer. Not sure what the problem could be... I will try changing the fuze, but I doubt that will fix it...dealership will be the next stop...
Question: I am looking at moving away from air ride in my 2017 Rebel. My biggest issue is reprogramming the warning light. Did the warning light stay on all the time or go away and only reappear when you started it back up?
Glad i never pulled the trigger on the bds lift. I've only switched out the leveling links, added the leveling spacer and 35in tires no issues at 50k now. Your truck sits nice with the bds lift though. Shooting for a 2500 one day. By the way, those core 4x4 would look clean on my white rebel.

@@Wimya Only problem I have now is trying to find out how to adjust the rear with no help from the pervious owner or dealership. Looked at the truck on the rack yesterday and the front is jacked up to the highest point, it is good that it can be lowered, but the back is a different thing, need to find out what the Bilstein shocks stock length is, and what the coils should be, called a few "kit" manufacturers and they told me I need to order a whole kit not a half. I asked them what do I do if my shocks are worn, order a whole kit again? Not much help out there. Dealership even less. Thanks for your input.
I had the same angle on the air bag on the same side. Took it to the dealer and they said they called BDS and they said its normal with the BDS lift.. My air bag shot out from under the truck and landed in a yard and dropped my truck instantly onto the bump stops. The dealer it went to after that had no idea about how to put one of these bags in. Ridiculous system. Swapping mine out soon as funds are available for it.
I have a 2013 Ram Longhorn with air suspension. My truck is 8 years old my first air suspension problem occurred when it was one year old. It was sitting down on the suspension stops. They replaced the module/suspension controller under the seat. Since then it has failed twice. If anyone is waiting for Ram to fix the air suspension issues....you have better odds of hitting the mega millions lottery. When it gets cold here in Ohio the truck squats down and I get a message to service the air suspension. Once it gets above 32 F it starts working again. Stay away from the air suspension, it is a great ride when it works but not worth the headaches.
Wish i would’ve saw this video 2 days ago… just had a shop put a bds 4in on my ram 1500 w/ air ride .. it rode well for 30 mins and then came the service air ride notification stuck in aero dynamic with the back end sagging.. riding bump stops.. any idea? the shops act clueless
Just got mine out of shop few days ago, Dodge said it was fixed . Next day it's still not working right. So now it's booked to go back again. Alberta is just getting over -40 and-50 cold snap. That's when my truck started acting up. Before that everything worked fined.. The weather has been warmer now, but Air lift suspension still ain't right. So hopefully they can fix it the way it suppose to be . This is the last winter for Air lift suspension for me . Too much of a nuisance. Dodge should be doing a recall over this stuff . Faulty system.
Damn bro I’m sorry to hear that. Sounds like the same shit I went through. I picked my truck up and the next morning the truck was leaning again. I’ve seen a few people that live in cold climates wrap their compressors in some sort of insulated wrap.
I live in MN, when it gets crazy cold out into -20°f range the pump will freeze up dealer had no idea how to fix, just kept replacing the pump, even though the actual pump would seize (like the next one won't)... 3 pumps later I added an auxiliary battery warmer blanket around the pump. Now exit/ entry mode driving 15mph over mild train tracks I can drive my C6 over like butter caused the rebal to literally Hop across the road into oncoming traffic (no lift kit). Can't imagine how bad it would be with the lift kit and that angle of the cv.
@@Wimya Yeah! lucky under warranty till 2022. But here in Canada Ram air suspension suck with cold weather. 3000$ per air bag suspension and 1000$ for compressor for the replacement.
The factory air ride system is terrible. We have been out of town 3 times this winter and each trip the Air system has either froze or failed in another way. Then I’m stuck out of town with my truck at entry mode level.
I had a 2017 factory height air ride suspension. And its acted up from time to time. But yesterday it turned into a dragster truck look. Its in entrance/exit height. And the truck doesn't have any mods. So i am hoping its a different fuse somewhere... since i have disconnected the battery. I have did the press both buttons. Also go to settings and tryed. So i am wondering if my compressor crapped out. I am going to be checkin to see if its got power going to it today.
@@jorgeescobedo2729 so in the end the dealer replaced the valve block. That didn't fix it. So they ended up changing the control modular under the driver's seat. It lasted a little over a month. So i brought it back and they had no clue, in the end they replaced the control modular again and its been good ever since. Since each time they would check the system when it's sitting on all 4 bump stops and it would say there was over 4000psi causing it to purge all the air out of the system. Its been good for 5months so far. Hopefully its finally fixed for good.
I've got a 2015 with 138K miles...the suspension is starting to act up...I think I have a leak somewhere in the system. I'll come out in the morning and it will be on the bump stops. If I start it and let it idle for a bit, it fills back up to normal, but I hear the compressor kick in while driving, when I shouldn't. Trying to figure out if it's something I can fix myself...
Mines stuck in entry exit mode on one side and the other side looks to be in aero mode. No lift kit or anything so I’m hoping the reset you showed fixes the issue.
@@Wimya yeah sounds like it. I may end up just selling it and going with something else. It’s only at 54k miles so I don’t feel great about it already having issues.
I have a 2016 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi. I am getting the Service Air Suspension message beeping at me sometimes 30 or 40 times a day. The suspension system is working fine. I have been to two different dealerships and nothing is stored in the computer memory and there is nothing they can do. It comes off and on very quickly and of course will not come on when at the dealership. Doesn't matter anyway cause there is nothing in the computer,,,,,,so they don't know what to fix. This is driving me crazy. I can go a few days and it will not beep, then it beeps constantly for days on end. If anyone has found a way to fix this I would greatly appreciate some insight on this.
My 2015 Ram 1500 limited started having issues last year and the dealer said it just needed a factory reset. It worked for about a week after that and then started randomly deflating on the right rear side again. I haven’t been able to find a solution online. The dealerships don’t know what to do either. Just been living with the fact that it randomly deflates when parked for a while. It will eventually inflate when I start it back up but today the right rear side deflated while I was on the highway. My truck was bouncing so hard that it was unsafe and had to pull over. Anyone have any ideas besides selling my truck?
Sounds exactly what I was going through. First they changed the air valve bc they had “corroded” according to them. That’s didn’t fix it. Then they eventually switched out the entire bag. It never really fixed the issue.
Actually your invoice of $700+ is not bad---- I fear taking mine to the dealer same issue--iam stuck on aero mode and I don't have a lift kit installed. If I take truck to the dealer it may run on the thousands around this area. Any suggestions? (I just bought this 2016 Rebel truck 4 days ago--sucks
To be honest the dealerships are even useless when It comes to fixing the air ride they just want to replace parts and hope that fixes the issue. Sorry you're going through the BS after just buying the truck.
I love the rebels. Been wanting one for ages. I finally have the opportunity to get one and my trusted mechanic friend says DONT due to air suspension 😪😪
@@jorgeescobedo2729 Yea a lot of people who have had air rides issues seem to just delete the system for coilers or a traditional spring & shock set up.
18 Rebel that has stock suspension has been having the same exact issues without any luck with fuses and all resets tried! Takin it to dealer on the 27th, so we'll see what comes of that. Definitely not looking forward to the dealer service end of it, sure wish it was something that the owner could diagnose and repair. They cost enough right off the floor and still have problems, the dealer better fix it right!
Taking my 2017 rebel to the dealership tomorrow. Truck has 55,000 miles. Put it in off-road mode when I parked it one night. Next morning the driver side is sagged to the lowest setting and the passenger side is raised all the way up. At first it wouldn’t let me lower or raise. Finally it did. But the left side is still sagged all the way
I Dont see a lot of Rams in the shop. My customer base has already been down the dodge road and abandoned them. I have my first RAM air suspension problem in the shop. Late friday only had time to pull codes. Stuck in Plant Mode. Poking around looking for info seen this. As far as warranty goes . You cant expect a manufacture to warranty someone else’s product. Air suspension is always a pita and I have removed many air suspension systems all makes and models. $800 seems like a bargain as far as dealer prices go and they actually worked on it. I know a few dealers local to me who would have seen your lift kit and said NO SERVICE for you
I'm not sure if it's the BDS I have a Laramie longhorn eco diesel love the truck but every winter the air ride has problems a.d I'm out of waranty so far in air ride repairs 5100.00$ pretty much replaced everything , air ride sucks and is a terrible system not only is it costly I've been without my truck 6 weeks this winter becuase it was in the shop and when I got it back it was still messed up . I'm about to swap to strut and shocks becuase it's a great truck accept the P.O.S. air ride amd BTW nice looking truck o wanted to lift mine too but I have too many issues already with suspension
Mine just started acting up. Cold weather. So hopefully when the weather warms up it will fix. Mine is factory too. Not something I did. I had to go to car wash to spray with warm water . Just to get it to pump back up
It's not your lift kit. I understand to replace my compressor. Dodge blamed me for going up 1 size in tires and voided my warranty as well as my extended warranty. A year after having the compressor replaced and going back to original tires my compressor 2nd compressor has now stopped working. This is just an all around poor system. Theres tons of issues with it. The tebel was the worst purchase I've made in my life. Problem after problem
@Wimya I'm now on my 3rd compressor. After 2 cold days it's failing and telling me I'm over max payload. In the spring I'll be puting on the strut master air delete. I'm done with this system. Dodge should be held accountable for such garbage. Dodge acts like my Truck is an isolated in incidence
Took my lifted Wrangler into Naples FL Dodge Ram Jeep for an alignment, they walked around it (I watched) for an hour. Came back and said the front end was bent. Next day had it aligned elsewhere and they laughed at the fact I paid $120.00 for diag because they knew Naples Jeep simply did not want to do it.

I never lifted my truck and I've had all of these issues. I have a 17, they replaced the compressor in 19 & 20. Didn't help me at all 21. RAM wouldn't help at all either. In 22 the dealer replaced the air in the line and that held up until yesterday. I hate this vehicle and the assistance RAM provides

Damn!!! I’m sorry to hear that man. It’s a damn shame Ram never stepped up and really addressed these issues with the air suspension. Are you gonna delete the air ride & go with coilovers at this point?
35s take a toll on your truck my brother I ripped mine off and went back down a size... manufactures strictly accommodate for a completely OEM vehicles in the times we live in ...they want you out of you warranty and to fry your customized vehicles
There is finally a class action suite regarding the air ride systems on the Ram trucks. This video is a warning for those looking to modify that system. I don’t expect the dealer to fix a system I modified for free, but I do expect them to fix it when I pay out of pocket…..which they didn’t.
dude you put a 4 inch lift spaced your tires and put 35s on.....yeah your cv angles are going to be off....finished the video yes staying away from bds duly noted

Spoiler alert- just took it to the shop today for the air suspension! Lol So it's still plagued with the same issue.
Oh man no way!!! One of the sales guys at the dealer was suppose to buy it and the dealership was going to totally replace the suspension. Oh man I hope the shop it’s at now is better than the idiots down here that we’re working on it
@@Wimya update. My shop is saying that the air ride was overloaded and the sensor tripped. That's why I was getting the code and the rebel lean. Only thing I've pulled or hooked up is a teardrop camper (1500lbs loaded). So it would appear it doesn't matter if you were in Florida or in Iowa dealer mechanics are morons and just lazy. Looks like my garage is going to get a bunch of new toys so that I can fix this problem myself.
@@jerry7.625 damn it man! I was hoping your dealer would be better than the ones down here. I did a ton of research into ditching the air ride and converting to coilovers but still retaining the BDS components of the lift. Just need the FOX coilovers in the front and then 4" springs & spring perches for the rear
So I got about 3 minutes into this video and I had to stop stop because without trying to sound like a Dick, you should understand that car dealerships are trained to deal with stock vehicles and not vehicles that have been modified. You can't hold a dealership responsible or accountable for what types of modifications you have done to your vehicle. When you do things like this you need to go back to the place that you did it at or go to some off road specialty shop who might be able to work with you. You should understand that there are literally hundreds of different ways to modify trucks and dealerships are not going to send mechanics to school every day to figure out what sort of modification someone has done.
You should have continued the video as I go into explaining how I know it’s my fault for modifying the truck You should also looking into how faulty the air suspension is on the Rams. There is a current class action suit regarding them. The BDS lift for the air ride is a glorified spacer lift which I have stated multiple times in my videos is a massive risk. These videos are to inform people of the risk associated with this system and modifying it. AND to point out the dealers have NO fix for these issues. I think you missed the point of the video. It’s to show the headache involved with modifying this system and some tips on how to fix it yourself. Also the dealer is the only one capable of working on these system. It requires specialized tooling and computers. Trust me I’ve taken it to the best and they can’t figure it out either.
I have the same problem. I hope ram goes out of business. They don't know what they are doing when it comes to designing mechanical products. I have no lift kit. All factory. Ram is just a piece of garbage
I personally haven’t had any other sort of issue with my Rams, Jeeps, or ALFA vehicles. But this air suspension was pure dog shit once it started having issues & the dealers were useless when it came to trying to fix it.
So goofy! Id be pissed too if i used crappy fittings an then didnt check them or pressurize the system! I have the same truck an lift i just did it all myself looks awesome but yes not a fan of air ride in general but coils will be next whenever my system starts to be 💩 😅😅

Wow that’s a nightmare. It was a great system while it worked but it’s a real pain in the ass once you have an issue.
I’m having the same issue with my Rebel so thanks for the info.
@@bulwiththepour5860 no problem! Hopefully it helps! Good luck
Love that steering wheel kid!!!
Thanks bro!
The factory warranty is only 36,000 miles or 3 years, powertrain is 10 years 100,000 miles, but that doesn't include suspension and wear parts.
Unless you have the Fidelity platinum extended warranty. Then it’s 50k and covers everything.
The factory warranty absolutely covers suspension parts.
Nothing works. Any wonder there was a class action suit against the RAM Air Suspension in 2020. With a heavy heart time to sell.
Dang I’m sorry it didn’t help. Have you looked into switching out the air ride to
Coilovers?
Question brother i have a 4” bds air suspension lift kit do i have to buy a coil overs 4” lift kit ? If I wanna change over to coil overs ?
My understanding is you would just need to buy the Fox/BDS 4” coilovers and not the entire “kit”. But I would verify with BDS
yep! mine is at the dealer for a week... now.. 2 air shock change and compresser ... still lose air suspension after a few clicks.
Ouch! That really sucks man! I’m hoping you still have the warranty and won’t be out of pocket like me.
@@Wimya Yeah! lucky under warranty till 2022. But here in Canada Ram air suspension suck with cold weather. 3000$ per air bag suspension and 1000$ for compressor for the replacement.
Yea I’ve read the horror stories about these trucks in the cold, not fun at all! And those prices are a hard pill to swallow.
My Rebel sometimes has rear passenger side up and sometimes I hear leak sound.
The factory air ride system is terrible. We have been out of town 3 times this winter and each trip the Air system has either froze or failed in another way. Then I’m stuck out of town with my truck at entry mode level.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to get a truck with that in Canada. Especially if you get -40s to -50s . Air lift suspension don't work great in that.
Just curious is that reset method in the manual? How did you learn it I'll be trying it on my Rebel.
I don’t believe it’s in the owners manual. A tech at the dealership told me how to do it.
@@Wimya After resetting I am hearing the compressor purging or letting some air out not sure if this is normal or not..
@@bruce6620 mine would do that to level out
I had a 2017 factory height air ride suspension.
Paul-- what ever happened to your truck? I have exactly same issue as you described it with my 2016 Rebel, let me know, tks in advance.
Sounds to me like the air valve are leaking. I had the exact same issue with mine. Then the air bag tore and I needed an entire bag replacement
Hey buddy, were you able to get your issue resolved after all?
I ended up trading in the truck before I was ever able to 100% fix it unfortunately.
Mines stuck in entry exit mode on one side and the other side looks to be in aero mode. No lift kit or anything so I’m hoping the reset you showed fixes the issue.
Hopefully brother! This air ride can be a nightmare.
@@Wimya yeah sounds like it. I may end up just selling it and going with something else. It’s only at 54k miles so I don’t feel great about it already having issues.
Hey man I have the same problem, I have already spent thousands trying to fix this, and still leaning from one side 🤦♂️
Damn I’m sorry to hear that man. You might have a leaking valve in the air bag. That’s what I ended up needing to have replaced.
This is so crazy because I am having the same issue right now.
My truck sat for two weeks while I was on the road. Air suspension won't raise now
Actually your invoice of $700+ is not bad---- I fear taking mine to the dealer same issue--iam stuck on aero mode and I don't have a lift kit installed.
The Rebel is a great truck. If I were to do it all over again I would remove the air ride and replace them with a set of coilovers.
@@Wimya Do you think the coilovers will work just fine?
@@jorgeescobedo2729 Yea a lot of people who have had air rides issues seem to just delete the system for coilers or a traditional spring & shock set up.
Just saved me a trip to the dealership! Whooooooooooo. God damn fuse.
Ayyyy!! Glad it helped!! 🤘🏼
Did they ever fix your issue and what was the end quote? I'm having the hemi lean on my 17 Ram limited .
But the left side is still sagged all the way
Damn, have them look at the valves. Hopefully it’s not a compressor that burnt out. Good luck
Just to get it to pump back up
Yea I keep hearing the cold weather just does a number on the air ride. It’s a Freaking nightmare!
Dude idk if it’s a thing but I noticed when my fuel low as hell and the light come on the suspension shit start happening!
It very well could be. Maybe the load sensors are off calibration. Such a weird & difficult system to work with
It's not your lift kit.
It was the low quality valves BDS gives you that failed and were leaking causing the compressor to constantly be engaged and burning out.
What happened to the Gladiator?
Lmao you clearly didnt watch the video
That helped me tremendously
I’m happy to hear! 🙌🏼
Gotta love the dealership service departments. They are the worst 🤦🏻♂️
my 2014 longhorn is at the dealership now for air issues, going to cost me $2500!!! New pump and new ASCM....
Ohh and that is not adding the 1700 I spent to buy a beater car so I could get to work
Damn bro I 100% feel your pain. I actually have my truck at the dealer AGAIN after I made this video for the exact same issue. I also did the same thing and purchased a work van since I can’t rely on this thing for work at the moment.
I thought bds would cover any issues the dealership would not after install of their lift kit.
BDS was willing to cover anything that has failed on their kit but nothing on the truck or OE equipment
@@Wimya I was kicking around doing this to my 2021 but after seeing what you went through I have made up my mind to just stick with the factory set up. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and share your experience of what could happen when things go wrong after installing this lift kit and for responding to my post brother.....

I have a 17, they replaced the compressor in 19 & 20. Didn't help me at all 21. RAM wouldn't help at all either.
In 22 the dealer replaced the air in the line and that held up until yesterday.
I hate this vehicle and the assistance RAM provides

Ram's air ride system is a nice idea but complete junk. I've seen that system fail soooo often it's insane.
I totally agree
Replaced the aftermarket valves..... that tells you everything..... your warranty is still intact. They replaced an aftermarket part with stock....

You should have continued the video as I go into explaining how I know it’s my fault for modifying the truck
You should also looking into how faulty the air suspension is on the Rams.
Trust me I’ve taken it to the best and they can’t figure it out either.
you took her to the dealer
When all else fails what else are you suppose to do? My valves were leaking and the system needed recharging, maybe that's what you need..
My truck is the same as yours has been
@@fernandosanchez9883 sounds like they let the nitrogen out when installing the lift
that's what you spent at the dealer

Because factory air ride is so reliable right?
So essentially you fucked it up yourself because you did the install....🙃
I didn’t do the install.
That’s why I quite modifying my trucks good luck arguing with the dealership,
Good call!! Having to argue with these dealerships is always a loosing battle. It gets old real quick.
So goofy! Id be pissed too if i used crappy fittings an then didnt check them or pressurize the system! I have the same truck an lift i just did it all myself looks awesome but yes not a fan of air ride in general but coils will be next whenever my system starts to be 💩 😅😅
