Cricky kimsey that's a terrific looking bowl, contrast between charcoal and the cheery wood, its unique. Thanks for sharing your video's it's pretty country. Aussie Aussie Aussie GDAY MATE from 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Thanks Ernie! Yep that cherry is so orange i like the black with cherry also, sometimes I use black glaze on cherry pieces to break up the orange, Glad you enjoyed the video Have a good one buddy!😎🤝
Well, I certainly did not expect you to turn it the way you did! But, I love the outcome. Yeah, the charred area could have been a little less shiny to be more realistic but that doesn't me it doesn't look great as is! I can see that hanging on the wall, Kimsey. A great accent piece, art piece, whatever. Great job! Wow, that's some kind of rain you had there! Gonna have to get the road graders out! 😃 Phil
Thanks Phil!😎😊 Don’t know if there’s a finish that can leave charcoal looking like natural charcoal 😄 But maybe I’ll come across one someday, Yep that rain was crazy nearly washed our road away 😅 Have a good one buddy 🤝
My favourite Cherry is, certainly didn't see that finish coming, dirtiest turn I've seen but worth it to get that end result. Thank you for sharing your ride out, and your Mom n Dad's drive in all the rain you soon get a lot of water over there. All the best from Lincolnshire UK
Howdy Gary! All the best to you to from North Georgia 🤝 Glad you liked the bowl 😎 That day of the rain we just had a flash flood, it was a crazy amount of rain that fell that day for sure, Glad you enjoyed the video, Take care buddy.
Thanks Heather! 😎 Cherry is just so orangey it needs something to break it up a little 😊 Lots of times working with cherry I usually use some black glaze or torch the edges,
That is spectacular Kimsey. I love it. I loved watching the un burned wood coming through as you turned the bowl out. I thought Wales had heavy rain but you take first prize for that rain storm. Great video Kimsey and loved the sunset and dawn at the end. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
Thanks Huw!😎 We had a flash flood that day was like a river fell out of the sky 😅 Once in a while we have downpours like that Thank goodness it’s not like that ever time it rains though, Take care buddy 🤝 glad ya enjoyed the video, I’ve got a drive video coming up, me and my dad went on a little road trip and I decided to video a little of it and also added some other shots to the video
That was defiantly firewood for a while Kimsey but you turned it into a cool looking bowl. As always your nature shots are always nice. Not so much the rain being nice but interesting. Stay dry my friend, Gary
😊 Yep it was it’s hard turning loose of stuff and my wife is just as bad I was burning some stuff the other day and she says, I like that stick! It’s got a neat look to it and it got pulled back out of the fire to Lol 😄 Have a good one hope ya stay dry too 😄🤝
The master of creativity strikes again! Wonderful Sir... I should finish my latest turning Tuesday, if so I'll incorporate it in one of my drone videos some how...
Cool looking forward to seeing your work 😎 Yep just clip it on one or just make a video of your work by itself, either way 😊 I’ve got a drive video coming up with my dad, we went on a little road trip, he was driving and I decided to video some of it, also clipped on some other clips on the video to of stuff, Happy turning buddy 🤝
Hey there Kimsey, great to see you! I know you said you didn't want it so shiny but I really like it the way it turned out - love the variety of textures, both on the charred surface but love the edges too where you used the grinder 👍 It was great to see the countryside where you live too, so beautiful - and I know exactly what you were thinking when you saw that tree begging to get made into blanks in that field 🤣🤣 Also good to see your lady getting her hands dirty on the truck - hope she fixed it! Take care fella, look forward to the next one 🙏
Howdy Paul! My wife liked it with the shiny look to, She was changing out the headlights on the truck, the old ones were so tarnished over the plastic covers were ruined couldn’t hardly see driving it at night, she is all the time tinkering with something, she wants a car hydraulic lift like the mechanic shop’s have, she’s pretty good on working on vehicles, Ohmygoodness that tree Lol Yep looked definitely like quite a few bowl blanks I was like 😮 😯 I had dad stop the middle of the road to just get some good pictures of it at least 😄😎 See ya on the next one buddy!🤝
@@kimseyjustkimsey5256 you’re a lucky guy with a lady like that taking care of you mate! What’s the rules over there, would you be permitted to go get some of that fallen tree for turning? I’m sure your dad would understand - I get most of my wood that way although my nephew is training as an Arbourist 😄 happy days!
I would have to see who owns the property and ask them if they minded, You will have so much wood ya want know what to do with it that’s pretty cool! I have a friend that is a arborist 😎 Happy days to you too buddy 🤝
Hey buddy Tony here this piece is awesome. I love your amagination. You say you wish it wasn't so shiny. I'm not sure but would it calm the shine down if you spray it with a flat urethane. Maybe try it on a test piece first. Let me know what you think and if you have tried it before what was the result
Thanks Tony!🤝 I’ll try a test piece for sure, Would love to keep it natural as possible, I think I just put so much finish trying to harden it up that it built up the shine, the conversion varnish builds very quickly and I coated it super heavy with it after I had used that other stuff, but definitely i will experiment with it thanks for the advice buddy 🤝😊
Wow! Burning hot and wicked cool! Very nice work!
Thanks Dave! 😎🤝
We never know what the wood wants us to do until it tells us. Nice piece of artwork and happy turning my friend ☺️
Thanks Edward 🤝
I believe that God sends a thought on the pieces sometimes and sends us ideas, Happy turning buddy 😊
Absolutely excellent work. Very well done.

That looks awesome. I would never have thought to try to save it from the fire.
Thanks 🤝😎
It’s hard letting go of pieces sometimes 😄

Nice. The down side of turning anything charred is it stinks up your workshop.
Did smell A little 😄
