    I have been living in Manila for the past 60 yrs and I didn't even know this cafe existed. The building and the inside of the restaurant shows grandeur, reminiscent of how great the Philippines was during the times when Manila enjoyed the label of Pearl of the Orient and the Paris in Asia. It must be an expensive place to dine? Thanks for discovering this place for me!😊

    There's one thing about the Philippines, if you miss one beautiful sunset, there's always tomorrow (assuming it's not cloudy) but for an experience, if you go to Boracay, at sunset be sure to go on one of the little sailing boats and watch the sun going down ...magical. PS, don't blame your girlfriend for missing the sunset, it's her first time aswell.

    • @ronnienestor
      @ronnienestor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@MergimVlogsYT That LRT line 1 is the oldest in Southeast Asia, opened in 1984.
      Yes, our public transportation system really needs improvement.
      It connects to LRT 2 that would bring you to Quezon City in the northern Metro Manila and Marikina City in the east. The line also connects to MRT 3 where you can go hopping on to Makati and Ortigas Central Business thru Ortigas station. The huge SM mega mall is located just over hundred meters from that MRT station.

    Since you have been to Juan Luna St., I suggest that you go to the National Museum of Fine Arts and stand before the majestic painting of Juan Luna called the Spoliarium. It is the largest oil on canvas painting in the Philippines. In 1884, it won the gold medal of Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes in Madrid, besting the best that European painters can offer. It propelled Juan Luna's friend and our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal to write his two novels, "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo", which led to the latter's execution by firing squad by the Spanish colonial government, causing the Filipino Indios to rise in revolt and throw off our colonial chains. Dr. Jose Rizal considered his novels to be Spoliarium in the form of literature.

    Great video! Don't worry about the sunset! These things happen, especially in a new city which has a confusing transportation system. Manila's sunsets are some of the consistently best in the world. Every sunset (and sunrise) is majestic, so you can choose any other day of the week and return again :). I'd personally say the sunrises are even more majestic, especially when in the provinces (there's the morning mist and the clear skies and cooler weather). Probably great to see in Tagaytay in Cavite or Antipolo in Rizal, both highland areas with much cooler weather just outside of Metro Manila.
    For sunsets, you could go to the Dolomite beach where you were, but sadly the beach isn't completed yet, and so you'd be limited to the bridge/overpass area. The Mall of Asia Boulevard is the better place, and you can take the MOA Eye (it's a somewhat smaller version lf the London Eye, but it's the highest ferris wheel in Metro Manila). The view from there is stunning come sunset.. Otherwise, a few years ago there were Manila Bay sunset/dinner cruise companies whid take you out for dinner on the bay around sunset. I'm not sure if those companies have survived the lockdown period, but seeing the sunset while sailing within Manila Bay looking back at the extensive city skyline must be special. Seascape by Sofitel is also a good food place to relax come sunset.

Delving into the local history and providing interesting tidbits of information of these locations while visiting them, stuff about local culture, even the architectural features etc, which helps us as viewers gain a deeper and immersive appreciation of the place too! Funny how traveling in a foreign country always has mishaps that causes a little argument between friends, partners and family. Then you laugh about it afterwards. Visit the bay again for another sunset. Best to be at the Mall of Asia before you catch the sunset. It's just a walk away from the bay. Don't go there on a weekend, it's packed. But if you're okay with the crowd, go for it. Sunday is Family Day in the Philippines, whilst Saturday is like the day most friends hangout.

    Oh my Salute to you for trying our LRT Train! I havent seen foreign vloggers’ perspective on how they feel when using our trains. But I am glad you compared it to your country.
    by the way “RICH” people do not use our PUBLIC transportation because they think that is for the poor people only. especially those who are used to have cars since birth kids.
    By the way you circled your way to Manila Dolomite beach after your coffee shop. The short cut would be just ride a taxi going to Manila Dolomite Beach. And as much as possible do not ride a train around morning (6,7,8am people all going to work) and (4,5,6,7pm people going home). The sunset option is also available for free at the back of Mall of Asia Seaside area that is much open, wide, and clean scenery. I suggest since you were kinda dissapointed, ride the “ferry” at the back of MOA and enjoy the view of both sunset and the hotels and buildings side. Enjoy!
    Here at 19.4K subscribers.

    Your choice for breakfast location and dish was spot-on (few locals know that place), Pork Ribs Adobo is delightful. Must try Beef Kaldereta (beef in tomato sauce stew), Kare-kare (tripes on peanut sauce), and Sinigang (similar to Tom Yang Goon if I spell it right), Bicol Express (Taro Leaves with Pork and Chili), and Sisig (pork face and brain served with egg, mayo, calamansi on a sizzling plate) . You guys went North instead of South when you were in LRT, don't worry experience makes you wiser😁. Best route from Binondo to Manila Bay is via Taxi since the route is at the edge of Manila Bay, plus it's cheaper if you do that. The tricycle rate is high even for locals. I'm looking forward for your adventures as you keep on surprising me of what you do next, hugs to both and always have a safe journey in the street of Manila.. BTW, look for Cafe Adriatico, hint hint

    It’s Friday, so it’s Quiapo day (the area with a lot of people).. so it’s really stressful to go then… especially the LRT1 route..
    LRT1 have different entrance so be careful.. but LRT2 and MRT3 have connected platforms so if you went on the wrong direction, you can just hop off and transfer to other direction, no additional charge..

    But when strict for time, just do Grab/GrabTaxi.. because the railways-landmarks aren’t that connected yet..

    And part of the adventure is getting lost a bit and then finding your way, so don’t sweat that.. The sunset is always beautiful any day.. You can go to SM MoA and tour it whole day then spend the sunset at By the Bay.. or at the bar at Conrad if you’re feeling fancy…
