I've had a very similar battle on very hard and I can only say fuck this situation. Same map as well. I can't even remember any more if I won eventually or just gave up in the end. I don't feel quite so ashamed now as I don't give up often.

Dabs 4 Dayz This is a man who conquered the whole map in 3 turns in Total war Empire using the most tedious exploit you could possibly imagine. So I’d say redoing the intro every time is no biggy for a man with his level of patience lol

So that was my disaster. When Legend sent me the safefile back I was expecting to see a completely beat up army and my jaw dropped when i saw that it's almost at full. The solution that Legend came up with here is cheeseally beautiful. Never even occured to me to look at the other side of the map. The reason for recklessness: the whole campaign I felt like I'm running against the clock with Tyrion painting the map white everywhere, so just wanted to get ahead here.
Mean this in a nice way.

@@daveyb454 Nah, risk is good. The campaing itself wasn't in any danger anyway. In the end we all got a new cheese tactic to use, so it was worth it.
@@djfox12rus1 Hahaha they just keep walking against impassable terrain, I promptly used this to draw kite cheat the AI with 20 minutes timer in my own disaster battle. XD XD

If the AI is allowed massive stat boosts and free max exp on their armies, we are allowed to exploit the silly behaviours.
Well, you were the ones who chose to play in legendary.
If you don't want the computer to cheat like that play in normal.

@@LovesPunchingBabies That's what I do, I despise melee troops being made useless by artificial stat boosts.
@@TheTeddyGuy28 same, I put things on normal battle so I can even use certain units that are completely unusable otherwise because I get bored of using the same units.
@@brianngo8172 Yeah, there are enough unviable units in most factions even on regular difficulties without legendary forcing you to limit your roster to one or two tactics since only a couple of combos are competitive.

I've never, ever, ever seen the AI run out of winds of magic. Whenever the AI has magic, they're spamming spells on cooldown from the beginning to the end of the fight no matter how long it goes.
I have, they even seem to cast spells less frequently as the battle goes on. I haven't played on very hard battle difficulty though, if that matters.
@@SoulReaperIsHere it does unfortunately. Very hard difficulty they basically have a pool so large that by the time the battle ends they still have enough for another 4-5. Casts

Impressive one, I'm also glad that somebody finally sent you a file where you fight against Hex, people mostly have trouble against Dwarves. Man, I find lizard armies at the late game are the most difficult ones to beat in vh/legendary difficulty. Too many troop types to focus and most of their units are damn tanky. Anyway, was fun to watch as always! ☼

The impassable terrain thing isn't really a cheat anyway. It makes sense for a rocky mountainous area not to be passable to infantry but flyers still being able to go over it.

The only thing wrong with legend total war (And I’m saying this as a fan) he calls things “cheese” like maneuvering to dodge ammo or attacking siege engine pushers when in reality those are very valid tactics used historically. As a result when someone does these on multiplayer the opponent has been trained to think this is bs “cheese” tactics and quits early. If the missiles were meant to hit a target changing trajectory then they would alter the missiles flight paths to not miss. Conserve ur ammo noobs and don’t get baited. Defend ur siege pushers.
IKR. It's like saying you can't put your shields together to block all arrow fire because then the enemy's arrows are useless, but that was one of the main tactics used by the Romans. If it gives you an advantage or gives the enemy a disadvantage, it's a tactic or strategy. Yes it's also an exploit, but that's the point.
i mean, didn't the germans demand the allies not use shotguns because they weren't honorable or something too, in either ww1 or 2, not sure.

@@redrangerrr558 They thoght that shotguns often did not kill their men and would just give them painful and hard to fix injuries. Therefore the germans said that a shotgun was not used to kill but rather maim
@@Sectormann Very true and it was the Winchester Model 1897 pump-action during WW1 that caused the spat. It was the first successful pump-action shotgun and it was an amazing weapon for trench warfare as the other powers didn't have a shotgun capable of firing so many shells so quickly, even faster than most modern shotguns because of the lack of trigger disconnector which means that you could hold the trigger compressed and pump the shotgun to fire it rather than needing to release and pull the trigger again. Clearly you can see how devastating it would be in a WW1 setting where bolt-action rifles were the rule not the exception.
The other countries mostly had break-action double barrels which obviously have significant drawbacks.

I fought an almost identical battle to this (two armies of lizardmen including Mr tictac) and the map terrain (as odd as it is) actually worked perfectly for me. I used my clanrats to funnel them through the cliffs while my warpfire thrower and plagueclaw took out the bulk of the force and my 2WLC and 2 ratlings focused their fire on the stegadons and basil brushadons. I was playing as Queek so I had a few SVhalberds kinda just chilling behind my clanrat line and defending my arty and Queek and his council guard made short work of daddy Kroq or however you spell it when he eventually tried to circle round through the trees on our right flank

I prefer to fight against 3 armies with my army than playing on legendary and losing against 2. I want the game to be balanced so the AI won't have no advantages against me :). At least this is what I think

Won a battle with 1 lord like this on dark elves. running that sucker round the map while having 6 arks near and dumping all kinds of stuff from the air till there was nothing left. this is somewhat similar to it but using heals on a single arrow shooting lords... -_- takes forever lmao :P GG though!
The problem with the Legendary difficulty stat boosts for the AI is that they distort what you'd expect from the performance of each unit. Thus, you have cavalry and melee infantry that underperform. Any balance done to the game in normal difficulty or in multiplayer doesn't affect Legendary for this reason. That's why it's an artificially dumb way to scale difficulty. The fact that my empire swordsmen will always lose to the exact same unit 1 on 1 is just stupid.

By shooting single, routing units with half a dozens full units of sisters you'd be wasting most of the ammo due to the low number of targets. no?
Even if they will come back, makes more sense to only fire at them when the ammo is going to be efficiently used.

LEGEND .. the reason the shots evaporated before they punched the ground is cause CA watches you and fixes cheese... if the AI aim at an AIR target the missed shots will not explode.. when you where on the ground with the Eagle they all exploded .. CA watches you everyday and you are there main tester just an FYI... ALL this is just IMO
