I had an upsetting encounter last night while picking up a rider that's kinda related to this, or perhaps directly so regarding a stranger on the street and her comment at the end of this lil' tale...
Was parked near an intersection in front of a restaurant waiting for my rider to show.
A lady was there also, in a wheel chair with a man.
She asked if I could give her a ride and I told her I was already booked for a trip and waiting for my rider.
I asked if she had an Uber account.
She didn't say yes or no but instead went on a bit of a rant about how we are not wheel chair accessible and that it was discriminatory to folks like her with disabilities.
She said that it really sucks trying to get around these days.
I was 10 hours into my shift, it was after midnight and I was fairly beat, about ready to call it and go home.
So, was sort of caught off guard to her comments and really hoping my rider would show soon and rescue me.
I had texted him and found that they were a block away from their pin and address where I was at.
He said to stay put and they would walk to me.
So, I had some empathy for this lady and told her that I work with the elderly and disabled for a living and that I understood the limitations they have for transportation.
I explained that we are independant contractors using our own vehicles and that it would be impractical if not impossible for Uber to require us to go out and purchase accessible vehicles.
I said that perhaps in the future they might come up with a solution and be able to offer accessible service.
She said she hoped so. Then, just as my riders were walking up finally, she threw this out...
"Hey, make sure you take your riders where they need to go.
Don't take them back to your house and rape them!"
I was floored and speechless.
Wow, so why did she feel compelled to say that??
And, on the heels of this comedian's tasteless comments.

You gave an example in responding to hurtful actions that unexpectedly come publicly; it can be a situation at work among co-workers , with fellow diners in a restaurant and in school where disrespectful words and acts are disguised as Ok because their done before the public and somebody smiled or their was chuckling in the background with the intent to make Mal behavior acceptable . Yeah, NeNe was way out of pocket. It saddens me that a grown woman with fully grown children would not know any better than that. I love the dialogue about safety precautions as a driver and as women period.
Yes first of all I'm old enough to remember Xscape...haha. But my biggest question is when did NeNe Leakes become a comedian🤔. I hope she learned from her experience.

It is only a "joke" because there is a huge problem with drivers sexually assaulting and worse.
I really don't think that the area she was in is the only place that would have reacted that way towards her "joke". She probably would have been "booed" anywhere for joking about rape since that is a subject that is an issue everywhere. I've never cared for Nene.
