- Israel said the vast majority of more than 300 drones and missiles launched by Iran were intercepted overnight.
The attacks - which drew international condemnation - marked the first time Iran has targeted Israel directly from its own soil.
It is unclear how Israel plans to respond, but war cabinet minister Benny Gantz has said it will "exact a price" for Iran's attack when the timing is right.
Iran had been warning that it would retaliate after an Israeli strike killed Iranian military commanders in Damascus earlier this month.

Hezbollah and the Houthis have 100'000 each alone and the Iranians have even more. Thousands of launches would lead to hundreds getting through. Tens of thousands would result in thousands getting through.
Iran quoted international law chapter and verse, avoided civilians and kept the response proportionate. Israel could learn a thing or two from the Iranians about proportionality and conducting operations within the rules of international law.

I would like to express the conflicts in the Middle East as a sixth form student.
The conflict had been like this after WW2, when Israel was put in the Middle East, expecting everything will be fine but in reality it caused devastating conflicts in the Middle East.
After what recently happened, I felt confused at first because we hadn’t experienced conflict after 9/11 until the Russo-Ukrainian War finally broke out.
And after the Israel-Palestinian Conflict, I was baffled, thought 2020 decade will be crazy after Covid. Now we have one of the Middle East Superpowers which is NUCLEAR ARMED.
As a British Citizen, I wish the people who has sympathy, heritage, and currently lives near the Day of Judgement that happens soon.

not only that, but it appears this attack followed similar procedure to Iran's retaliation to the assassination of that Iranian general by the U.S: Iran warned U.S ahead of time so personnel could evacuate/take cover, fired missiles at an airfield. Media coverage was all saying a retaliatory strike was imminent before it happened, so it seems Iran purposely leaked their plans to allow Israeli personnel to take cover (and avoid further escalation while also portraying strength to Iranian citizens) before launching their missiles at Ramon air base. I don't think Israel is going to launch a retaliatory strike in recognition of Iran's leak of the attack.

Iran gave about 7 days advance notice. Crossed airspace of Syria and Jordan and Iraq, Faced air defences USA, UK, Jordan. And hit two military airbase. Is it not impressive

It was to make a point. At least one of the airbases was used in attacking the Iranian Embassy in Syria. It was in the Negev desert away from densely populated areas. It was a measured response.
Iran is not evil and cruel like Israel. They informed everyone about their retaliation against the bully.. in advance. That tells us the intention of Iran for the enemy to be prepared. And they don't target the civilian area. Only an airport and military base reported 'little damages'. It's not about the casualties or impact. It was a warning that Iran has capabilities to reach the enemy's backyard. If Iran wants to annihilate Israel,they would insert nukes into the drones. Time for Israel to think twice before playing a bad boy and a victim in crocodile tears in future.

A simple statement of "unintended bombing of Iranian ambassy" from Israel to Iran could have prevented this escalation but the attitude of Israel in this by either nor denying nor confirming rather showing a arrogant behaviour regarding bombing of embassy have led to this. The issue of course being that the only reason Iran is a brutal oppressor regime and not a democracy is because the UK and USA didn't want Iran to be a democracy and did everything in their power to install said oppressor regime. Iran used to be a democracy until they wanted to national their oil. At that point the west forced it into an oppressor regime to keep said oil via coup. It's important to remember that the west was always willing to destroy middle eastern democracies to keep their own economies flush.
